Strengthening families through biblical principles.
Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

So I was asked this question . I felt my response wasn't good enough. From a Biblical pov...who really owns a man, the mother or wife? Same applies to women. Who own the woman, mother or husband?
...whose responsibility is it to protect jealously...actually. Thanks lol
Genesis 2:24
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
When a man & woman marry, neither 'owns' the other. Nor does his mother (or father) or her mother (or father) take priority over the married couple. Any married person who places his/her own parent(s) before the spouse is not living a Bible-identified marriage.
Unfortunately, not all parents and/or married couples understand or live in accordance to Scripture.
That does not sound like a very supportive MIL.Yeah, isn't that funny? My (ex) MIL thought that she was the ruler of me and our household. I never actually laughed in her face about it out of respect, but she tried. She welshed on the wedding also and we had to get married at a JOP instead of have a wedding. A big disappointment to my wife.
No human own any other human. Slavery is illegal. Marriage or parenting doesn't imply ownership.
Unless you mean "own someone" as the gamer slang term for "to defeat someone". In that case I own you all.
That does not sound like a very supportive MIL.
Well, this is wonderful; it's not always the case...I have a very good relationship with my in-laws.
Jealousy is a sign of insecurity.
