Why did Jesus say "I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God."?

So now add sarcasm to your attitude. Where did you learn to be so hostile? Is that combative, nasty attitude taught by your priests?

Quite obviously you are using your position as moderator improperly. You aren't discussing the OP subject. You're making it personal. I am reporting you to the site owner.
Is this a joke? Just a cursory look at your posts turned up these gems...

I stopped searching when I read some of your posts advocating for abortion.

Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

It was the intent of the people to kill Jesus, and free Barabbas. Peter wanted them to understand the magnitude of their error, and repent; for the proof was that such a miraculous healing had occurred. Still, Jesus was not killed, but rather he laid down His life. Otherwise, His atonement would not have been able to cover the sins of those that murdered Him. It was a perfect atonement:

Luke23:34 "Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots."

Four garments:
John19:23 "Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece."

2Col5:2 "For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,
2Col5:3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.
2Col5:4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life."
That is not what is told, for Peter to explain the magnitude of their error.

What is testified is, the men of Israel perversely chose a murderer( who takes life off others) while at the same time killing the Prince of life. ( Gods raised Him from the dead and the Apostles are witnesses to these things.)

God fulfilled all things that were shown by the mouth of His prophets, for Christ to suffer( for the suffering of death. Hebrews 2:9.)

The people are warned to therefore repent, as Moses had truly said to them, a prophet will be sent to them, and they shall hear Him, in all things He shall say to them, and it shall come to pass, that every soul which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Acts 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

Acts 3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

In psalms 22, of course this tells us all Jesus fulfilled of that suffering of His death on the cross, how He cfries out why God has forsaken Him, how all laugh Him to scorn, saying He trusted in the Lord, that He would deliver Him, let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him.

The dogs who compassed Him ( on the cross) inclosed Him and pierced His hands and His feet.

They parted His garments among them, and cast lots upon His vesture.

Psalm 22: 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

Psalm 22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

And they crucified Him, parting His garments, casting lots, to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet, they parted His garments among them, and upon His vesture did they cast lots.

They said to Him ( on the cross) He saved others, Himself He cannot save, He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him, for He said He is the Son of God.

At about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me ?

Matthew 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

Matthew 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

That is drinking new with Jesus in His fathers Kingdom, gotten again to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Hebrews 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Our language is is imperfect, as are we. There were two points that I was trying to make. It's fine if you disagree with them, but I will try to make them clear.

It's true that Jesus died on the cross. What I am trying to say is that the reason for His death was not primarily a result of the crucifixion, but rather it was that He had just previously, by His Spirit in the juxtaposed heaven, entered into the Holiest and dispensed His blood, his life force. Then on earth He received the sour wine, while in heaven He also drank; "drink it ["the blood of the new covenant"] new with you in the kingdom of God".

So, I'll modify my position to say that it may be that Jesus would have died of the physical injuries that He received.
If so, then the people may have guilt, as Peter said in Acts. Even so, He did not die of His physical injuries. He died as a result of Him giving His lifeblood, on earth and in heaven, and then as He did "drink it new with you", after which He died, physically. Therefore, when He received the sour wine, the fourth cup of Passover, He began the new dispensation, though the general distribution did not happen until Pentacost.

So, the OT canon closed when John began his ministry as the forerunner, "for the Law and the Prophets were until John" Luke16:16. Then the "old wine" of the Spirit's dispensation was complimented with the "new wine", for when Jesus received the sour (un-aged) wine, the new dispensation of the Spirit began.

The second point was in reference to my earlier statement that the number four is relevant to more things than is commonly known. So, in following up this statement, I took the opportunity to relate the four cups to the four garments, and to the passage from Colossians about being clothed and further clothed, in the return.

The language that perfects is the language to hear, no other language therefore is worth hearing.

For full clarification, see my new thread I just made now.
