Why the Church Gathering Has Changed

Have you ever read the many pages of the by-laws in your own church in how it is to be operated?
Never put down that of another's religion, even if you disagree with it as that is a violation of the ToS 1.4. Keep that in mind.
ONE. No
TWO. I didn't put down another person's religion. I said what I had found.

If you never read the by-laws of your own church then why put down those of another church that you probably have never read all 36 pages, but I could be wrong. Everyone needs to read the by-laws before joining themselves to any church so they will know the government of that church lines up with scripture.

1Cor 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

I read all 36 pages of the catholic guide to the mass. If I want to say anything about anything, I NEVER skim through things as that would be dishonest to the person reading my post.

And regards 1 Cor 12:28 you are reading it with a contemporary slant not as it was meant when it was written. First, you need to realize that the NTC did not have bylaws. It had the law of the Spirit of Life and they were directed by that, not man-made rules.

And second, the word governments as in bye-laws is not in the original. The word government in the original is good leaders.

This is what is meant in 1Corinthians 12:28 where I bolded the word "government".

Since you said you never read the bylaws of the church you attend then you have no idea of the governing of your church that is to be according to scripture which is the roles of the Pasto, Elder, Deacon and other leaders and the requirement of each position in the cjurch. Everyone should read them as they are made available to the congregation. Many of the areas of governance of the church are covered in bylaws first established by the Apostles who set up the governance of the first churches in the NT for God's governing of His Church. Bylaws are a legal document which establish the rules for the governance of the Church. Bylaws are an agreement between the members of the Church regarding the management of the Church. Bylaws are not required by law and are not filed with a state or federal agency; they are an internal document. Are we to agree with the different bylaws from all the different denominations/non-denominations, no, but only those that line up with scripture.

Main things that are address in the bylaws need to be:
  • Church Meetings (procedures for holding valid church meetings (regular meetings,
special meetings, Board of Directors’ meetings, and/or annual meetings))
  • Voting (procedures for proper voting and the distribution of voting power)
  • Directors (duties and responsibilities of directors; also the procedures to
    appoint, elect, and/or remove directors)
  • Officers (duties and responsibilities of officers; also the procedures to
    appoint, elect, and/or remove directors)
  • Code of Conduct (a set of guidelines that the Church members agree to comply with
regarding ethics, behavior, and/or conduct in the Church)

That is your point of view which I do not subscribe to and which I am allowed to disagree with unless we have a pharisaical mentality at work. As for bylaws first established by the apostles, having written a dissertation for a Ph.D. on New Testament Church life, I feel very confident I known what I am talking about.

P.S. In all my years as a Christian (69) not once have I been given a copy of any bylaws of any church I have attended to read. Just saying.

Then maybe you need to ask them for a copy as they need to be available to every one.

When I was vice president on the board of directors at the last church we attended as it was a brand new assembling it took the whole board, plus the Pastor, to draw up the by laws of the government of that Church according to scripture so everything done within the Church was according to God.

BTW, it is not my point of view, but what has already been written in the scriptures of how God wants the governing of His Church to be inline with His word.

ONE. Why would I ask them for a copy if I don't attend church now?
TWO. Why does every church have to be organized to your way of thinking?
THREE. His church is in line with his word. It is man's church that isn't.

I do not see any board of directors mentioned in the bible.

I am speaking about God's governing of His Church within the assembling as being done according to God's will. All things being in order in the congregation. Acts 20:28; 1Timothy 3:1-13; 5:7; Titus 1:5

Banks where I am require someone to be designated as "President" on the church's bank account. There needs to be an administrative structure, but as many know, domination, intimidation, manipulation, and seduction are not in accordance with Scripture or God's Will.

I agree as each one is held accountable unto God. We had a couple on the board that tried to dominate and spread lies and they were soon removed.

Everyone knows that, so what are you trying to say? Since a church is a "business", banks have a right to know who is the head of the organization.

If the assembling is done according to his will It would be governed by local Elders, not pastors brought in from outside the church.
