Hi Brother CE!
There are some indicators many look for; some don’t, but I’ll list a couple or so.
Luk 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
To me this takes in a whole lot of subjection to be ignored.
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

What would get my attention?
Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Israel presently doesn’t observe the daily sacrifice, but one day they will begin again and then have it taken from them 1290 days prior to the middle of the tribulation.
Dan 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
Although these nations resemble the nations Nebuchadnezzar saw, they are not Daniel’s vision. The one of Nebuchadnezzar figure the beginning of Gentile times, and those of Daniel the end of Gentile times.

There will other differences also in the two scenes as shown by notes I have by Gene Hawkins below.
“Nebuchadnezzar's dream image pictured four world empires, likewise Daniel's dream image pictures four world empires but now there is this difference. Nebuchadnezzar saw this fantastic beautiful man with the head of gold, and you know he had these big old strong shoulders and his midsection was of the silver, then it went on to brass and just a beautiful thing to behold you might say. Nebuchadnezzar would have seen it from man's point of view, but Daniel saw these same world empires from God's point of view and they are beasts. God says man without God is a beast, and as we go on in this image we find that these men have become more beastly as time goes on.”

But there’s coming a time of Daniel 7:20-21 where a little horn (a man of sin) comes forth.
Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. If we indeed see this on the horizon we'd better be ready; not all the church is the bride, and some come to Jesus out of great tribulation and are even servants (Rev 7:14-15) instead of a bride adorned for her husband ruling jointly with Him. (Rom 8:17).

It's a waste of time to view these matters externally.

Were we to observe these events, what measures would we use to "see?" Certainly not "fleshly" sights, but Spiritual sights.

The Spirit has a lot to say about "end" time. The first observation to make is what end? Who's end?

Jesus was clear enough on this matter. It is the END of the devil and his messengers. Are we going to be able to observe that using external fleshy sights?

Probably not.

So, I'd set my first stake on "end time" sights on that matter, as a certainty. A sure and certain fact to come.

I know that it will not be as most think they see, externally.

First, in the reality of the above fairly certain fact, there will first come a "gathering."

Matthew 25:
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Who does this "gathering?" What is the Throne of His Glory?

These are the directions to look to for these matters. And yes, scripture does answer these questions, big time.

According to Matt 24:36 (NIV), Jesus did not know the time of his second coming: '"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father'.

If Jesus didn't know the time of his Parousia, neither does Pastor Greg Laurie nor you or me.

Let's concentrate on continuing to take the Gospel to our neighbourhood and around the world.

In the US, the left vs right paradigm is extremely polarized right now. As a society, we're regressing, when it comes to issues of race and politics. We're hearing about civil unrest in many nations. The next election seems to be a harbinger of rough times ahead no matter who gets elected. The San Bernardino event was only a birth pang of things to come as far as Islamic barbarism goes for this country. The Syrian refugee crisis has all the potential in the world to change our way of life entirely, and quickly. I won't say it's the end, because like other people here have pointed out, there are some major events that haven't taken place... but I do think dark clouds are rolling in, pregnant with fury. My thoughts lately have been on Judges.

"And the children of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of Midian the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and the caves, and the strong holds. And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east; they came up against them; and they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance in Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass. For they came up with their cattle and their tents, they came in as locusts for multitude; both they and their camels were without number: and they came into the land to destroy it. Why do we think that we can't be given over to our own Midianites, Amalekites or Phillistines? Why do we think that we are blameless before God? Have not many of us returned unto the bondages of our own Egypt? We call ourselves children of the promised land, when we look like Egypt, talk like Egypt, are entertained by Egypt. Many of us sleep. There is no anguish, no toiling, no fasting. Just a lot of folks playing church. A lot of folks given over to pleasing the spirit of the age. A lot of talent and entertainment with no anointing. A lot of dead religion. Everyone's talking about revival and no one is counting the cost. God help us.

The Promises of wrath and destruction and final judgments on the earth are as sure as anything in the scriptures.

BUT, what do they really mean? is at the heart of these matters. Fleshly speculations abound, that's for sure. It's the inclination of the flesh to view these as external.

I don't think that is a legitimate sight myself, to gauge end time/eschatology studies.

We are all, or should be anyway, quite aware that the "issues" of mankind are internally based spiritual issues because "evil" comes from within.

The Promises of God are that this ceases to be the case, by His Power.

I would challenge that it may be you who is looking at things from the wrong viewpoint. From your response I would infer that you are still waiting for the new heavens and new earth by looking for signs of the first heaven and earth passing away, which is why I challenged that maybe instead of looking for the end of the first, we should rather look to the beginning of the second.

I do not wish to put words into your mouth or misrepresent what you believe to be true, so I will ask two questions that you might respond to.

Do you believe the new heaven and the new earth in the book of Revelation is something we are still waiting for in the future?

Do you consider yourself to be a new creature in Christ?
