How can everlasting punishment breed hope ?
The hope in relief from the torture that your existence won't get wiped out.
God has given mankind thousands of years to quit hurting each other.
As if he regularly talks to mankind.
He made it known long ago that all men will be judged on their behavior.

Man's eternal suffering won't be a surprise to anyone.
It will be a surprise that you are wrong, and so was Augustine.
Man has made it known he will take his punishment for his disobedience of God.
You need a relevant verse for that statement. good luck.
Thankfully, He also made the ways and means of perfect obedience to God available to men too.
None a mankind since Jesus the Messiah has had the God as their father and mentor, thus perfect obedience is impossible. Poor Job, and poor Jesus. All that was necessary.

The hope in relief from the torture that your existence won't get wiped out.
That would be a false hope.
Just more of the misery of eternity in the lake of fire.
As if he regularly talks to mankind.
Often enough.
There will be no surprises on the day of judgement.
It will be a surprise that you are wrong, and so was Augustine.
Who cares about what I or Augustine says.
Go by what God says..."And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." (Matt 25:46)

Isn't man aware of God's commands ?
Everyone has a God given conscience.
None a mankind since Jesus the Messiah has had the God as their father and mentor, thus perfect obedience is impossible.
Wrong on both counts.
God has made it possible to be reborn from His own seed, and He doesn't leave us alone in our voyage through new life.
God's gift of the Holy Ghost guides the submissive.
Poor Job, and poor Jesus. All that was necessary.
Not sure what that means ???

You need to save your soul that never dies. In order to save your never-dying soul, you need to believe in Jesus who died for you. They’re falling for it left and right.

That would be a false hope.
Just more of the misery of eternity in the lake of fire.
Then it would be eventual nonexistence which is what Augustine thought it was, before the catholic church made his doctrine of original sin worse.
Often enough.

You don't know when the day of judgment happened.
Who cares about what I or Augustine says.

Or an everlasting chastisement. It is spelled singular and is plural in English. It is probably badly rendered.

Cain didn't have one.

Why don't you go pray about it then? Tell me when you get a true answer without drugs, and that little voice in your head.

The breath that sins is the breath that dies. There is no such thing as a soul other than your breath. Reincarnation stems from the belief that the human breath is smart and forever.

Breath dies?
I thought it was the man who was given breath dies.
I thought the man who was given breath became a living soul. And when the breath given to him leaves him he becomes a dead soul.

I don't think there will even be non-existence for anyone.

True.

As though there was a difference.
Cain didn't have one.
What makes you think that ?

Why not just explain what you meant by..."Poor Job, and poor Jesus. All that was necessary." ?

ψυχη psyche means breath in Greek. It is translated as soul. So basically, you haven't a clue that there is no such thing as the immortality of the soul.

But I agree there is no such thing as an immortal soul. Unless he is given eternal life. That soul becomes immortal. The soul who is not given eternal life dies.

There is an everlasting chastisement would be a punishment that permanently corrects the misbehavior.
What makes you think that ?
What would make you think otherwise?

Seeing that Job had to suffer because his friends were lazy; it was the only possible way to embarrass them. Being that people needed faith in the God's power; Jesus raised his body out of death.

You can imagine that if you want, in relation to the "final" judgement.
The people there won't be doing any "changing".
What would make you think otherwise?
I asked first.
Seeing that Job had to suffer because his friends were lazy; it was the only possible way to embarrass them.
How does that stay on the topic at hand ?

You've lost me...

Yep, The God of most Christians, where most are damned because he is just too good.
I asked first.
It doesn't matter, but Cain didn't know right from wrong. I can't help it, if he didn't know any better.

How does that stay on the topic at hand ?
All the pain, righteous people get from God is because they have to pick up the slack for others.

Aliens are coming to take over the earth, get as many tattoos and piercings as you can, that way they’ll think you’re one of them.
