Bible Study 71 Days in Isaiah

sorta like this Rev_3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Mr. Isaiah is interesting.

Day 30 My research: "Leviathan" myth of an ancient symbol of evil and monstrous horror.

Isaiah forsees God destroying evil finally & forever. Oh what a day when the great trumpet sounds like on the Day of Atonement to proclaim liberty throughout the land (Lev. 25:8-12) and all God's people will be gathered at the Holy Mountain (Rev. 21:9-11). (Combination of words from Dr. Ortlund, and me.).
actually one translation of the word leviathan in Hebrew is to twist.

Day 32

Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Mat 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Amen precept upon precept
Rom_15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
Rom 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Rom 9:24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
Rom 9:25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
Rom 9:26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
Rom 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
Rom 9:28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

Day 33 Verses 15 & 16 Sound's like our Government, in that our leaders make secret "deeds in the dark", or behind closed doors. V.16, They certainly have turned our Country upside down, with the lack of seeking Almighty God Who was behind establishing this great Nation.

My hope is that God will turn our Nation into a "fruitful field" once again for my Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, should Jesus tarry.

Nails.. :wave

Hand-forged nails were the first manufactured nails, and they date back to Biblical times. As people first used hewn beams, timbers, planks, and whole logs to build with, the early hand-made nails were spikes. With the development of the split wood shingle, nails of about 1" long came into use. When sawyers, and then sawmills, began cutting dimension lumber, the sizes and varieties of nails greatly expanded. Thus, over time, nails developed in different sizes, shapes, and used different heads to fasten lumber and wood.

Yesterday, I was looking at the word definition in a verse in Isaiah and found something....
From a word study of the word 'nation' in the Hebrew I discovered I was wrong about that word H1471=goy and the plural form of 'goyim'.
In the OT these words simply mean nation/nations or the people and are used even when speaking of the nation of Israel when God refers to them as a nation.
KJV
Gen 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations H1471 have I made thee.
Gen 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation H1471 and a company of nations H1471 (goyim) shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
Exo 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. H1471(goy) These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Num 14:12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation H1471 (goy) and mightier than they.

I also discovered that the word 'Gentile' doesn't exist in either Hebrew or Greek. It is a word derived from a Latin word, used much like the Latin word 'Lucifer' is used.
G1672= Hellen, a Greek or Hellenized, in language, land, etc. = mostly someone of a different religion than Judism. It is used 27 times in the NT, 20 of those times it is translated as 'Greek'.

I stand corrected. however
masonry and carpentry are related and in latin it maker of carriages. It would be interesting to go to the hebrew usage and see what that actually was.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpentry

Day 33 - 29:15-24

Isa 29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
Isa 29:21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

Luk 20:20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
Luk 20:21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
Luk 20:22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?
Luk 20:23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?

The more i read, in this slow pace , keeping ( almost) to the suggested passages, the more i see it is bring detail out.... the more i see the growing of the Body of Christ.. Seems every page is filled with mercy...

Day 34 Verses 1-5 Paint a pathetic picture of a people who despise the instruction of the Lord in favor of protection and provision in what the wicked world has to offer. All end up as a great illusion and downfall of this people.

Whenever a person or Nation is running from God's instruction, their need is to hear from someone who they will listen too, smooth things, prophesy illusions instead of Truth. V.10

In all this, God waits and blesses those who wait for Him. V.18.

Reads like a picture of the church the church here in the USA . We have no idea of struggling Christians
