'talking' with sinners isnt the issue here...nor eating with them. I have no problem with either.jasoncran said:friend of christ i said what i said because i struggle part of me wants nothing to do them as it reminds of my former life and yet i know that they a deliverer, jesus, i wouldnt advocate being friends accepting thier lifestyle, however do u see them at the gym, work and not talk to them, reaching them can be done directly or indirectly our lives will convict if we live in christ, that's what i mean, but what the drunk, the whoremongers and like sinners do we hang with them as well? be honest or do we isolate ourselves from the sinners

But we are not to be 'yoked' together with unbelievers...and in my opinion that includes the closeness of 'friendship'.
I'd be very certain that Jesus did not sit around eating with those who would be close friends while they were in open sin and not say something about it.
If you knew a man you were close friends with was beating and raping his wife (ie 'sin') would you be ok with ignoring that sin...pretending like it wasnt going on ?
I dont think Jesus would and I dont think WE should.
Certainly we take the gospel to the lost sinner, but that is quite different from giving them the impression that they dont need to CHANGE their lifestyles.
At a point we become an enabler when we fail to do what we're supposed to do...which is tell them to 'sin NO MORE'....
