Baptism

Faith is belief, its beliving in things not seen. Hope and trust.

Why are some people so obssesed with baptism like water saves people?.

Christ saves lives, not water. Abraham believed God, he believed God would deliever through Christ even he did not see it he believed God and thats faith and he was credited with righteousness.

The thief on the cross asked Jesus to remember him, he was down and had no one else to turn to for comfort and support but Christ, he decided to believe and put his hope and trust in Christs hands, and Christ credited him with righteousness for having that faith, he didnt get dunked in water or eat a slice of bread.

Water baptisim is good its a good thing, but its not needed to be saved and sometimes people freak out they not baptised in water and question there faith and if they saved. Our belief is not in a river of water, its in God alone.

Christ is the living water, he is the bread of life, faith in Christ is more important and more worthy than believing being dunked in some water saves lives.

Got any verses for that?
Paul's reception of the gift of the Holy Ghost is not written of.

I wonder why there was no mention of him receiving the Holy Spirit too ?
No speaking in tongues.
No prophesying.

No arguement there.

Your chapter doesn't say that.
How can anybody still with sin in/on them have a good conscience ?

Undoubtedly they believed, but the gift of the Hoy Ghost before baptism was done to impress on the visiting Jews that God had accepted the Gentiles as well as the Jews.

Agreed.
But they were immediately water baptized.

If we believe that first bit of information, we will do the rest of the things we hear and heed.
True believers repent of sin and get water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins.
True believers will remain faithfully obedient till their last day.

One church ?
How about thousands of false "churches" ?

Not every event got written about.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of unbelievers baptizing folks today.
Every false church is baptizing people.

Actually, only Cornelius' household was written of having experienced that.

Not really.
I know that unbelievers won't get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their past sins.
Believers, however, will get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their past sins and then receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Just as Peter exhorted in Acts 2:38.

A one time event.

That one time event proved to the accompanying Jews with Peter that God had received the Gentiles as well as the Jews.

Where in Acts 10 did Cornelius or any other Gentile "call upon the name of the Lord" ?

I am responding to you.
No need for your confusion friend.

Jesus appeared to Paul, and was confirmed he receives his sight and is filled with the holy ghost.

Scales fell from Pauls eyes, which is forgiveness from Christ the gift of the Holy Ghost.

No need for anyone to see proof of Paul speaking on tongues.

Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

2 Corinthians 13:3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Cornelius has the same way, of his prayer answered. 9 of Peter telling words to save him and his house.)

Acts 10:31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Acts 11:14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

The words that save Cornelius and his house, show they are words to all, to save all who hear the preaching of faith, that all in every nation are accepted, who fear Him and work righteousness, and the word God sent to Israel, peace by Jesus Christ, they know, the word which was published throughout all Judea and began from Galilee.

All are saved by the same belief, all receive the Spirit by the same hearing, there is no other way, you have none to show.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

Faith alone receives the Holy Spirit, works do not.

Afterwards, the works that are of the Spirit, are believing in all the testimonies of God, and the testimony of God that both receives the Spirit, and is what the Spirit is for, is the love of Christ, to lay HIs life down for us.

Your baptism ideas are not Christ laying HIs life down, but anyone laying their life down for their brother s.

1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

I also told for you guts, which you reject, that baptism is not removing of the filth of the flesh, because if you wash away sins that return it shows water baptism is not eternal. ( not the eternal Spirit.)

But baptism of the Holy Ghost is separate, it is what saves, it is by belief in the rising of Christ from the dead. ( it is the conscience.)

1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Everybidy receives the Spirit by the hearing of faith, that is why we see Paul again receiving the Spirit before water baptism.

Paul heard from Jesus Christ, not from man, and Paul also affirms this for us.

Acts 9:11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

Galatians 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Someone convinced you that water baptism equates to belief, when we are witnessed that it is the revelation of Jesus Christ is both belief and baptism. ( that is how they received the Holy Spirit, by revelation of Christ, and not by the hearing of anyone else or the eater baptism anyone else gives to someone.

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Ephesians 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

Belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ gives a good conscience, gives the Spirit, ( saving us) which is seen in Acts 10.

All received the gift of the Holy Ghost by the hearing of faith, not by hearing they had to be baptized with water.

Acts 10:40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Calling on the name of the Lord is told fully in Romans 10, and we know this is ONLY, BY REVELATION OF THE LORD JESUS CHIST,AS WAS DONE WITH PAUL, if we believe in our heart that God rose Christ from the dead we shall be saved, this is us believing and not being ashamed, this is the Lord being rich towards all who call upon Him.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

You are being taught by me that there is one that needs answers for everything. ( corrupted.)

No unbeliever did baptism in the scripture, plus that is speaking against how baptism and faith works, it is only by revelation of Jesus Christ. ( belief is required in all)

Are you talking to me or to others on the forum, give account on day of every word you have spoken.
Your opening statement is incorrect and you're not understanding Acts 9 that you cited. Here's a short study that I've previously posted on a slightly different subject that clarifies what was said in Acts 9, wherein Acts 22 is also relevant in its correct understanding.

REPOST

Many times, people erroneously cite Acts 9, and specifically the words of Ananias to Saul in verse 17, as justification that Ananias, who was not an apostle, also possessed the ability to bring about the manifestation of the Holy Spirit/Ghost, the falling of or being filled with the Spirit/Ghost, by the laying on of his hands on Saul (Paul), whereas this is contrary to scripture which clearly indicates that only the apostles had this ability as their promised "power from on high" as stated to them by the Lord in Luke 24:49, and confirmed by such verses as Acts 5:12, Acts 6:6-8, Acts 8:9-19, Acts 19:6, and 2 Tim 1:6.

Their use of this verse is unjustified based on the following:

Notice the difference in the words of instruction given to Ananias in verse 12 by the Lord versus the words of Ananias to Saul in verse 17.

In verse 12, the Lord says nothing about being "filled with the Holy Ghost", only that Saul "might receive his sight". But Ananias words in verse 17 added that he, Saul, should "be filled with the Holy Ghost".

Acts 9:11-12 (KJV)

11And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, 12And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

Acts 9:17 (KJV)

17And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Now, look at Acts 22:1-16 and the words of Paul (Saul) during his recount of the event to the crowd at Jerusalem, specifically verse 13. You'll see Paul's recount of the event also DOES NOT say anything about "being filled with the Holy Ghost", but only that he receive his sight which is consistent with the instructions the Lord initially gave to Ananias in Acts 9:12.

So, does this represent a conflict of scripture? No! Scripture cannot and does not contradict or conflict with scripture. So, what did Ananias mean, why did he say what he said in Acts 9:17, what does this really mean, and when would Saul have then been "filled with the Holy Ghost" to make the scriptures agree?

Note Acts 9:18 and Acts 22:16 below.

After Saul received his sight, he was immediately baptized. It was at this point, when Saul was baptized, that he received the Holy Ghost which is consistent with scripture. See Acts 2:38 (below) which defines when and how one receives the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:12-13

12And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there, 13Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

Acts 9:18 (KJV)

18And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Acts 22:16 (KJV)

16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 2:38 (KJV)

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

You are correct about the works of the Law being ineffective.

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
You guys dont seem to want to see the full picture.

I will show it easy for you, as if you are a baby. ( this is a bit long for children, so try not to go to sleep.)

You know you really should check just one time, into the background of your own ideas, to see what saves a person. ( you say water baptism.)

Part1. Lets begin with Jonah. Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. ( in the water.)

Jonah cries in the affliction, and was heard out of the belly of hell, the floods compassed about Jonah, the waters compassed him about, even to the soul, the earth with her bars was about him for ever, yet his life was brought up from corruption, by the Lord his God.

Jonah remembered the Lord, and his prayer came in unto Him, into HIs Holy temple. Salvation is of the Lord.

Jonah 1:17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Jonah 2:1 Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly,
2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.
7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.

Psalms has the prayer of David of hope to not have his soul left in hell. ( to not see corruption..)

Calling upon the Lord to be saved, the sorrows of death compassed him, the floods of ungodly men made him afraid, the sorrows of hell compassed him, ( just like Jonah prayed in Jonah 2:1-9..) in his distress he called upon the Lord, (When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord.) and cried unto his God, He heard his voice out of HIs temple, (my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.) his cry came before Him, even into His ears.

Delivering him from the strivings of the people, making him to be the head of the heathen, as soon as they hear of him, they shall obey him, the strangers shall submit themselves unto him. The Lord lives, let the God of his salvation be exalted. (Salvation is of the Lord.)

Psalms 88, the people came about him daily like water, they compassed about him together. ( saved from the strivings of the people.)

After two days the Lord revives us, in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in HIs sight.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Psalm 18:3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Psalm 18:43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
46 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Psalm 88:17 They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.

Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Jesus tells Israel, no sign is given to them, BUT, the sign of the prophet Jonah. As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whales belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Jesus tells them how a greater than Jonah was there, and how the men of Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah.

Jesus tells the men of Israel again, that no sign shall be given to them, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. ( the sign of faith.)

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Matthew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

From this same time, Jesus began the important teaching ( which saves all) of the suffering of Christ by the elders and chief priests and scribes, to be killed and raised again the third day.

That they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again.

That they will deliver Him unto the Gentiles to mock, to scourge and to crucify Him, and the third day He shall rise again.

Then Jesus asks if the Apostles are able to drink of HIs cup, and be baptized with the baptism that He is baptized with. ( the Holy Ghost.) Jesus confirms they shall drink of HIs cup and be baptized with the baptism that He is baptized with.

The Jews tell Pilate how Jesus had spoken about rising again after three days. Pilate gave word to command that the Sepulchre was made sure until the third day.

After Jesus rose gives the word to the Apostles, to teach all nations, baptising them in HIs name, teaching them to observe all things what He has told them, and how He is with them. ( the Holy Ghost in them.)

Matthew 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Matthew 17:23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

Matthew 20:19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Matthew 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Part 2. The Apostles preach of Christ, to the men who took Him and crucified Him, conforming how God raised Him up, because it was not possible He could be held in death, as David spoke concerning the Messiah, of seeing the Lord ALWAYS at his right hand, so he should not be moved.

David died, and being a prophet knowing God had sworn to rise up the Messiah to sit on his throne, David had spoken of the resurrection of Christ, that Davids soul would not be left in hell, ( the prayer of Jonah also.) nor his flesh to see corruption, Jesus God has raised up, the Apostles were all witnesses.

Peter let the house of Israel know assuredly, that God made the same Jesus, they crucified, Lord and Christ.

Peter does as Jesus instructed, telling them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Acts 2:25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Peter tells the Gentiles, how God is not respecting persons, ( he had spoken to the house of Israel.) but now speaks to every nation, how those who fear God and work righteousness are accepted with Him.

Peter speaks of the word sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, which began after the baptism of John, and Jesus anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power, doing good and healing all oppressed of the devil, ( for God was with Him.) and the Apostles are witnesses, of what He did, how they killed Him and hanged Him n a tree, and God raised Him up the third day, showing Him openly, unto the Apostles who were witnesses, chosen of God, and they drank with Him, ( the same cup and same baptism of the Holy Ghost.) and Jesus commanded them to preach unto the people, to testify it is Christ who was ordained of God to be the judge of the quick and dead, the prophets all giving witness, that through HIs name, whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins. The Holy Ghost fell on the Gentiles hearing the preaching of the word.

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

The word of preaching again, Jesus risen again, as written in the Psalms, this day the Lord had begotten Him. ( the third day.)

He raised Him up from the dead, n more to return to corruption, saying in Palms, He gives Him the sure mercies of David.

Another Psalm, not suffering HIs Holy one to see corruption.

David saw corruption, but Jesus who God raised again saw no corruption, letting it be known that through Jesus is preached the forgiveness of sins, and by Him all that believe are justified from which they could not be justified by the law of Moses.

As many of us as were baptized unto Jesus were baptized unto Hs death, buried with Him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by glory of the Father, ( raised the third day) we should also walk in newness of life.

The word of faith, which we preach, if we shall confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead, we shall be saved. ( believe He was raised the third day.)

Acts 13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Acts 13:34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Acts 13:35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Part3. Paul also tells how he was not sent to baptize, BUT TO PREACH, and to not make the cross of Christ of no effect. ( of Christ raised the third day.)

The preaching of the cross is the power of God to those who are saved. ( believing that God raised Christ the third day.) which is foolishness to those who PERISH.

Paul declares the gospel which he preached to us, which we received, which we stand by, by which we are saved, if we keep in memory what is preached, how Paul delivered unto us first of all what Paul had ALSO received, how Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again THE THIRD DAY, according to the scriptures.

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

We are complete in Christ, of a circumcision made WITHOUT HANDS, ( nobody sees who is boon of the Spirit. (John 3:8.) the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, ( drink of HIs cup and baptized with the same baptism/the Holy Ghost.) to be risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God who raised Him from the dead. ( THE THIRD DAY.) Quickened together with Him having forgiven us all trespasses.

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead ( THE THIRD DAY.) according to the gospel Paul preaches, and gives the faithful saying that if we be dead with Him, ( in baptism of the Holy Ghost.) we shall live with Him.

Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Back with Peter, that we believe by Jesus, that was raised up from the dead by God. ( the third day) to be born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the word of God. ( Jesus Christ, the Word, saw no corruption.) this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto us.

Peter tells of Christ who went to preach unto the spirits in prison, disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, either souls were saved by water. ( remembering Jonah three days and nights in the belly of hell, while the floods compassed about him, is the ONLY sign Jesus gave to Israel, of the Son of man also in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.)

This like figure of baptism saves us, it is not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, ( it is not an outward appearance) it is the INSIDE, it is ONLY the CONSCIENCE, the belief of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

1 Peter 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Look at the time Jesus was in, of the men of Israel doing their alms before men, the hypocrites sounding trumpets in the Synagogues, to have GLORY OF MEN.

When they pray, the hypocrites love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be SEEN OF MEN.

To not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do, FOR THEY THINK THAT THEY SHALL BE HEARD FOR THEIR MUCH SPEAKJING.

Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Jesus prepared for those who will continue to seek glory of men, to be seen of men, so we can answer them which glory in appearance and not in heart.

The Jews continued to desire men to be circumcised in the flesh, to have glory of mens flesh. ( and not the circumcision made without hands, or the baptism of the Spirit, being born of the Spirit, which comes as it lists and no man sees.)

The adorning is to not be the outward adorning, but to let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever. ( corruptible seed, does not believe in Christ risen again the third day, to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, incorruptible, believes, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever in them.)

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

Galatians 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
So, after saying all that, what is your point? It sure wasn't made clear.

I thank and praise God for making water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ available to me.
In so accepting it, I also was able to destroy the old man oriented on worldly things and be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life.
Those who fight against water baptism, receive none of that.

Everyone who received the Spirit in Acts, did so without water baptism, as it is an afterwards action.

What we see taking the Spirit away, was by people insisting others had to do rituals, ordinances, they are all put away, because I did show we are saved by the hearing of faith, which we saw in Acts was preached to the people always, that Christ died and was in the earth three days and three nights, and belief of that saves us, as we rise with him after the same three days. ( belief)

Belief is what destroys the old man, in Jesus Christ seen as destroying this body and in three days building another. ( another sign to the Jews the same as Jonah, of three days and nights in the heart of the earth.).....

John 2:18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Not correct. The Jews received the Holy Ghost (the gift) upon being baptized as recorded in Acts 2:38. The miraculous manifestation of the Spirit, a different issue, as recorded earlier in Acts, fell on the apostles who then spoke in other worldly tongues as part of the promise the Lord made to them as recorded in Luke 24:49, as the power from on high, and so recalled in Acts 1 by Peter.

The Sacrament of Baptism was instituted by Our Lord and became obligatory when He commanded His Apostles to “…teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…”

Another example of the necessity of Baptism is found in Acts 2:38- “But Peter said to them: do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

It’s very clear. The Bible says that Baptism is for the remission of sins.

Act 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Water does not save but grace does

Christian baptism is an outward sign of the inward action of grace, or merits of Christ’s passion blood and death applied to our souls!

We cannot see the inward action of grace purifying the soul, so God gave us the outward “sign” of water washing the body to indicate the inward action of grace and connected the two.

Jn 3:5
cannot enter the kingdom if n your own.

2 pet 1:11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 8:19
And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

The Christian sacrament* of baptismal regeneration is required for the new covenant and salvation!

*this promise acts 2:38-39 is a sacred oath from God ez 36:25-27 and a sacred oath is a sacrament!

Initiation!!!

Faith & Baptism is the initiation of the new and eternal covenant!

You cannot enter on you’re own or by “faith alone”!

You cannot receive Christ or grace by “faith alone”!

“Accept Christ as you’re personal lord and savior” is fundamentalist tradition not found scripture!

Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

2 pet 1: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Baptismal regeneration a new creation in Christ! 2 Cor 5:17

A sacrament is an oath! A sacred promise from God! Ez 36:25-27
Acts 2:38-39 (this promise)

No baptism no grace!

A sacrament is an outward sign for all men including infants And a gift from God to help us see what he does inwardly and invisibly by his grace!

As grace Washes our souls in the merits of Jesus blood from original and personal sin, so the outward action of washing is visible!

without the outward action the inward action cannot take place!

Jn 3:5 Titus 3:5 water and washing
acts 22:16 wash away your sin!

Jn 3:5 Born again BY water and the spirit! Not by “faith alone”!

They did not go to Jerusalem and preach “accept Christ as you’re personal Lord and savior “

They went to the river (water) and they baptized! Jn 3:22

A covenant requires an outward sign of the inward action of grace!

Ez 36:25 I will sprinkle you with clean water and you shall be made white as snow.

Acts 22:16 washing away your sins.

Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

1 pet 3:21 baptism saves you.

You cannot enter on you’re own or by faith alone!

2 pet 1: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Baptism!

God breathed life into Adam, gen 2:7 and we received this life from our fathers!

Christ breathed on the apostles our spiritual fathers, we receive the new covenant life of God’s grace from them thru faith & baptism! Jn 20:21-23 Mk 16:16 acts 8:36-38 eph 2

Born again! Born from above!

'The Father has set his seal' on Christ (John 6:27) and also seals us in him (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:23, 4:30). Because this seal indicates the indelible effect of the anointing with the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Baptism,

Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life." 87 The faithful Christian who I has "kept the seal" until the end, remaining faithful to the demands of his Baptism, will be able to depart this life "marked with the sign of faith," 88 with his baptismal faith, in expectation of the blessed vision of God - the consummation of faith - and in the hope of resurrection.

St. Paul tells the faithful at Ephesus that they have been “sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” This is in terms of an indelible character imprinted on the soul in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation. It is not as if this invisible mark is simply decorative. Rather, through it, we are enabled to participate in Christ’s mission and in his offices of priest, prophet, and king. Eph 1:13

Sealed by God eph 1:13 sealed by God (ez 36:25-27) in the ark of salvation by baptism just as Noah was sealed by God in the ark of the flood gen 7:16

1 Pet 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark of Noah none were saved, outside the church (the ark of salvation) none are saved!)

Sealed in the ark, sealed in the church the ark of salvation by God thru baptism!

Christ instituted the holy church to teach and sanctify all men unto eternal salvation. (repent and believe the gospel) with the institution of the sacraments to convey grace to sanctify souls!

Scripture says none of the things about “Faith alone”!

Only James 2:24 a man is justified by works and not by “faith alone”

2 Peter 1:11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Christian sacrament of baptism is the Initiation into the new covenant and must be ministered to you by the apostles!

If not faith and baptism then it must be “faith alone”! Not

“Faith alone” Questions

where does ez 36: 25:27 Say “faith alone”?

where does scripture says we have died with Christ by “faith alone”?

Where does it say we are sealed by faith alone?

Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

where does scripture say we are members of Christ and his church by “faith alone”?

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

where does scripture says we put on Christ by “faith alone”?

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Where does scripture say our sins are washed away by “faith alone”?

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

where does scripture say we are saved or justified by “faith alone”?

1 pet 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!

The only reference in scripture to “faith alone” is James 2:24 NOT BY “FAITH ALONE”?

2 pet 1: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

How can you enter by your own if it must be ministered to you? Baptism is done unto you, “not do it yourself by faith alone”

Ministered by the apostolic church!

Where is “Accept Christ as your personal lord & savior” is found in scripture?

They did not go preaching this line but went immediately to the river and baptized Jn 3:22

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Eph 4:5 one baptism

Why don’t it say one teeny tiny little act of “faith alone”???

When we first believed we are saved?

Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

How can salvation be nearer than when we first believed if you’re saved by believing?

1 pet 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Matt 24:13 endures to the end Shall be saved.

How can salvation happen when we first believed if it’s the end?

If salvation is by “faith alone” then faith would be the greatest!
1 cor 13:13 charity is the greatest!

Even all faith much less “faith alone” without charity avails nothing!
1 cor 13:2

The Sacrament of Baptism was instituted by Our Lord and became obligatory when He commanded His Apostles to “…teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…”

Another example of the necessity of Baptism is found in Acts 2:38- “But Peter said to them: do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

It’s very clear. The Bible says that Baptism is for the remission of sins.
