Divine Healing; Why some don’t get healed

I agree and I don't think I said or even implied that Jesus doesn't care about food, shelter, clothing, health. I do believe His more important concern is our spiritual health for that's why He came. I believe we are lost and unless we accept that great and wonderful gift from the Son, we will remain lost so by spiritual health I'm speaking of our relationship with Christ and where our heart is.

Jesus said, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV)

I believe our earthly treasures include food, shelter, clothing, and wealth. Not to say that we must ignore these things completely for we do need them for our survival but I believe we must be focused first on our spiritual health and then these things and that's what I believe Matthew 6:25-34 and Matthew 10:28 are speaking about, at least in part.

Paul wanted desperately to get relief from his affliction but God had other plans.

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV

I believe the greatest gift we can receive from God is not our physical healing but our spiritual healing, or in other words, salvation from the curse of our sins.
Yes but there’s the rest of one’s life. It’s sort like the most important relationship decision is your spouse but there is more than the wedding.

No way the Protestant churches burned people at the stake with their Bibles. You’ve heard of the Inquisition? Catholics and only catholics and for a few millennia. There’s more. It’s history. It’s not an opinion.
D, have you ever heard of witch-hunting?
I really don't care to discuss what the church did wrong hundreds of years ago.
We have enough problems right now, today.

Yes I know what you are saying. But in real life, for some believers here (not a few) who have been christians for decades following Jesus and serving him and none of them say that they already got the greatest gift and that is enough. Some of them have pain. Some of them have very difficult struggles. How can telling them that they already have the greatest gift and physical healing is not as important? Seems pretty important to them and I can understand why.

D, have you ever heard of witch-hunting?
It was in New England in a small community whereby they thought some of the women were engaging in witchcraft. Now in our modern world, Wicca (witchcraft) is the fastest growing religion in the US. So there are witches and maybe they were witches then. Do they cast spells and hurt and even kill people? I have heard of examples of witches engaging in this towards their enemies.

This is nothing at all like burning bibles with their owners which was all over Europe for 1000s of years. Nothing close to it.

Well, the church that took part in the enemy's persecution of christians will likely not find the authority to cast out demons. That was my point. I am sorry that you do not want to engage in inconvenient truths.

I find it futile.
What would it accomplish?
I'm not here to bash any particular denomination...they all have something we don't like about them.
We both know the truth.
The last crusade was a disaster.
The inquisition was a horror.
What's to discuss?
It was 1,000 years ago.
Let's get on with trying to make the church be as "one" as possible.

Fine. I am in agreement. I just said I do not think an organization with the blood of probably millions of the followers of Jesus will have authority to cast out Satan. Whatever name that organization has, it will be the same. We can move on.

I know where to ask .my church founder left pentacostals over snake handling .

I'm hearing that He is more interested in saving the person's soul than providing health, food, clothing, or shelter in this life. Everything leads up to eternal life.

Why did Christ go to the cross?

I think we all agree that our eternal salvation is more important that our physical healing.

However, the question remains...

Why did He go to the whipping post and suffer such an agonizing torture, and to suffer so much for our healing, if it wasn't important?

What if you gained eternal salvation 40 years ago? Does that continue to be more important than the physical suffering you endure? This is a vital question for many here and telling them that they are saved is more important so they ought to be happy is not going to comfort them. We need to have answers to the world that bring comfort and freedom.

he paid the debt he did not owe and he did it out of Love. healing is there but when we go making excuses/reasons a person did not get healed is %199 wrong.

I don't know what WHAT HE BECAME IS HERE means.
What did Jesus become?
He told the Apostles it was good for Him to go away so that the Holy Spirit could come.
John 16:7

Jesus is back in heaven as the 2nd Person of the Trinity.
At the right hand of God.

My trust in medicine is also low.
I avoid doctors as much as possible...however, when we need one we should get 2nd and 3rd opinions before doing anything drastic. I also don't believe we should take antibiotics at the slightest sign of a cold - as some do.

The thing is this Ed,,,even if we don't go to a doctor one of two things will happen:
Either we get well.
Or we get worse and possibly even die eventually.

God does all the healing. Healing comes from God.
I think what JLB is talking about is miraculous healings.

Ok, That reminds me of a testimony I have. Remeber the stimulas checks that they sent out? Well I got mine and thought, I'm not paying bills with this. And so I spent it all within 2 days on things I needed. And I was broke. Broke broke.

I started the day with mucho dinero and was po poor by nightfall. But that's ok cuz I got some things I need, praise the Lord! And I had to go to the basement for something and walked into hot water all over the floor. The hot water heater took a dive. I shut off the water to it and in a moment I realized that this morning I had the money for a HWH. But I sure do not have it now! How in the world can I expect to be able to get the money for a HWH?! So I began slipping into despair and started wondering if I would have to go a whole month with no hot water?!

Then it hit me. This aint no coincidence! The Lord knew I had the money this morning! So I actually laughed a little and I said, Lord I don't know what you are doing here but I know it's in your hands, so, mind if I watch?

I had already been blessed, because the day before I caught the Laundry bug and caught up all of the laundry so I said thanks to the Lord for nudging me to do the laundry! I checked the date code and my HWHW was 5 1/2 yrs old. Juuussst out of warranty, of course! I can even plumb and had everything 20 ft away that I would need to install a new one. Copper pipe, fittings all that stuff. I can do the labor and material, but for some reason the Lord gave me everything except the HWH money, Lol! I love the Lord's sense of humor!

Now to me, I know this weren't no coincidence, all these things. So I prayed on and off for the rest of the day about it. Lord what are you doing, I had the money. Now I don't. What are trying to say to me?! And I got no answer! Total silence! How ya like that?!

So I woke up the next morning figuring the Lord is leaving me to handle this alone and see how I react. I didn't have any options to choose from, I was broke. So what do I do? I can prolly get a new HWH wholesale at the plumbing supply house cuz them guys know me. I wonder how much a new one costs total, today! So I copied down the serial number because if I could get the exact same model, it would be a slip fit and take the least amount of material to tie it in. So I call the Plumbing Supply house and asked how much for this one and gave them the serial number to match it...when he came back he said ther's no cost for that unit, Ed. (Tilt!!) Because it's under warranty. I had totally forgotton that Rheem don't have a 5yr on their water heaters, theirs is a 6 year warranty! I knew that though, so I actually think the Lord made me forget that. He had to. So all those coincidences (Lol) weren't co- incidences, they wer God-incidences. And not even a sparrow falls to the ground with God knowing it, so I think it was obviously God testing me. And by the grace of God, I passed the test!

Jesus can be very mischevious, lol. Praise God for supplying my new HWH!! :hysterical

God is soooooooo good, brother.

Love it!

Making excuses?

How about seeking to understand.

If I seek to understand why I haven’t been healed then I am wanting the knowledge and understanding from God, and apply it to myself so I can be healed, and through my testimony help others to seek to get their healing.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

Bethel church.

Let see .that church denies the Trinity .

So believe that guy who sells books on how to raise the dead ?

Uhm no

Not getting the healing is sometimes caused by active sin in ones life, it intereferes with God's grace from flowing into you. Other than that you should pretty much get your healing. The formula for a healing is easy. I sick person + 1 Believer = Healed.

And I've heard of quite a few people who were healed and then the symptoms came back in a day or so. This is always a lying spirit that's trying to find a way back in, and if he can get you to believe you're not healed then you lose your healing. So when thoughts come tell it to shut up, that Jesus is the name above all names and you have been healed so leave in Jesus name, and don't come back. After awhile they'll leave you alone about it.
Or so I've heard.

How about seeking to understand.
its not his will if your walking the walk doing your best to dot every I cross every T . your in his will.... man i dont understand why my dad had Parkinson's i dont understand why my mom had Alzheimer's i dont understand why my pastor buddy died of cancer . he like me had his faults but in the end we try our best to do what God wants . facts are there is no reason or why to understand . i know a local pastor wife that had cancer the doctor said your going to die. God healed her for several years done good. then her cancer came back.. did she sin? i doubt it was she out of God will? i doubt it ..the just shall walk by faith . we walk by faith and not by sight

Well, the best is simply to ask God what we are to do. We can ask why something is happening so we get understanding. Now it needs to be said that God does not usually tell us about the lives of others as it is none of our business.

The main problem is people are not taught how to hear the voice of God to them. They are not taught to ask their Heavenly Father for instruction and how important it is to obey Him. We are taught that they are now saved and going to heaven, end of story. Obeying Jesus, if you bother to know what you are to obey, is an optional extra.

On a side note, I have heard people say that God said this or that to them and I knew that God had said no such thing because that was in direct violation of His Word. Having his word hidden in your heart is very important in discerning when God is talking to you or not.

Joel lived during a bad time of Israel’s history.

Joel 2:28 kjv
28: And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

The actions on the day of Pentecost this were the fulfillment of of
Joel 2:28

At Pentecost and beyond (even to this day), our high priest is seated on the right hand of the father. Knowledge is coming out of the mouths of Israel’s sins and daughters.
At Pentecost the people who mourned over the sins of Israel who has been scattered to be in foreign nations for protection, are present to hear the wonderful works of God in the languages of those foreign lands to which they were scattered.

In the bad times of Joel comes the message of hope.

In our times of disaster can come the message of hope in our inner man. The law can be in our hearts and minds. Ezekiel spoke of the promise of the law being in hearts and minds (another bad time).

Our redemption draws nigh.

By quickening spirit - a term I've never heard used - I would suppose that you mean that Jesus makes us alive.
I've never thought of this.
In the OT Jesus had not yet appeared as Savior - was He still a quickening spirit?
I ask because persons knew the Holy Spirit even in the OT but He did not dwell with them as in the NT.

I like to learn new ideas that are biblical.
