Yes but there’s the rest of one’s life. It’s sort like the most important relationship decision is your spouse but there is more than the wedding.I agree and I don't think I said or even implied that Jesus doesn't care about food, shelter, clothing, health. I do believe His more important concern is our spiritual health for that's why He came. I believe we are lost and unless we accept that great and wonderful gift from the Son, we will remain lost so by spiritual health I'm speaking of our relationship with Christ and where our heart is.
Jesus said, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV)
I believe our earthly treasures include food, shelter, clothing, and wealth. Not to say that we must ignore these things completely for we do need them for our survival but I believe we must be focused first on our spiritual health and then these things and that's what I believe Matthew 6:25-34 and Matthew 10:28 are speaking about, at least in part.
Paul wanted desperately to get relief from his affliction but God had other plans.
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV
I believe the greatest gift we can receive from God is not our physical healing but our spiritual healing, or in other words, salvation from the curse of our sins.
