Divine Healing; Why some don’t get healed

Prayer and laying on of hands .
My daughter had an abdominal problem that was going to require surgery . She was prayed for at church and the next day the problem was gone much to the doctor's surprise . My daughter had problems with seizures and many tests were run at one of the region's best hospitals, but they couldn't find the source of her seizures . After my daughter was prayed for at church the seizures never returned . These healings were both before my daughter was of school age .

Why isn't everyone healed ? I don't have that answer .
that is the entire point we dont have the answer. many come up with the reason sin was the reason. some have said lack of faith. i have even heard it said they was healed they just did not receive it. i witnessed in service a young lady having breathing issues. the evang stopped preaching laid hands on her and prayed. breathing problem restored . i seriously doubt at the time if she was thinking do i have enough faith.

in a service i was preaching in a lady requested intercessory prayer for a elderly lady . she stood in we anointed with oil prayed. the next Sunday the report came back she was better.

its all in the hands of the Lord. some are healed down here others up there . i have heard preachers say we should be able to walk up to a casket lay hands on the deceased and they awake from the dead.

the problem i have with that is once you go to the funeral home and the embalming is down. every major organ that was ruptured in the process. would have to be restored.

is it possible ? yes probable i dont think so.. in mark 9 the man wanted Jesus to heal his on. Jesus said if you can believe all thing are possible.. his reply i do believe help my unbelief . ( this is us) they lad was healed .

i am a firm believer in divine healing praying for the sick anointing with oil , laying on of hands . what i am not for is divine healers

17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19

are you willing to pick up a snake are you willing to drink posion how many demons have you cast out ?

We don’t go and drink poison or handle snakes, but like Paul, who was sent by God to do the work of an Apostle, a snake bite him and had no affect on him, and the natives of that Island got saved.

I have heard testimonies of missionaries who had drank poison because the local witch doctor tried to put a curse on them and nothing happened to him, so he tried to poison them.

Poison had no affect.

After that the witch doctor and the whole village got saved.

Again, this thread is about why some don’t get healed.

As I have said three times now, I am believing, standing on God’s word to be healed. While I am doing this, I thought I would make this thread to see if anyone else was needing healing or maybe wanted to tey and discover as a community, by the Spirit leading us, what could be standing in the way of my/our healing, from scripture.

Just because we attend a service where the anointing is for healing and we don’t get healed, doesn’t mean we stop and give up.

We can go to God ourselves and thank Him for what Jesus has done for us already, and claim our rightly blessing, by faith and continue to believe everyday, like widow and the unjust Judge.

Another words, go directly to Jesus, and do what Gd puts on our heart to do like the woman with the issue of blood, pressed in and touched the hem of His garment, or cry out to God, like blind Bartimaeus, and when some told him to stop and shut up, he continued, and continued until Jesus healed him.

Again, Jesus called this persistent coming to him and believing for his healing, is faith.

Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
Mark 10:52

Not everyone received healing the same way. Some He spit in the dirt and made it wet and rubbed it in the man’s eyes.

Others he laid hands on them.

Still others got there healing when they persisted.

One guy had his friends tear the roof off of the house and lower him down to get to Jesus.

Now that is persistence.

i agree as long as we dont go making reasons for not being healed its all in the hands of the Lord just like our life.

A Boy Is Healed

14 And when He came to the disciples, He saw a great multitude around them, and scribes disputing with them. 15 Immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to Him, greeted Him. 16 And He asked the scribes, “What are you discussing with them?”

17 Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. 18 And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.”

19 He answered him and said, “O faithless[b] generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I [c]bear with you? Bring him to Me.” 20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?”

And he said, “From childhood. 22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

23 Jesus said to him, “If[d] you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”

29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer [e]and fasting.”

yes we can see by this answer sometimes there are extra steps to be taken

If I'm died don't pray for me to come back .that's victory your are stealing .

Oh death where is thy sting ,grave where is thy victory ?

You quote the scripture that describes the authority Jesus gave to his followers who were about their Master's business of saving men's lives and then apply it to a circus show act.

As to demons, I have dealt with the demonic world and have an appointment this morning to meet with a sister plagued by demonic activity. Satan will lose a battle today as we come in the name of Jesus together against him. I know whereof I speak when I write about matters of the Kingdom in many cases.

This thread was very timely for me as a sister asked me to pray with her regarding her various health problems that emerged after having delivered a baby. We each independently felt like God wanted us to do a Daniel fast for three days. I thought we should meet and pray but have been praying for her these last 3 days. She wrote that she had experienced her first painless nights in months. So I am actively dealing with physical illness in a dear sister in Christ. I am very sure this is a family curse and we are going to bind the enemy this morning. So the thread was spot on as far as what is happening in my week.

Why are Catholics not a good choice?
I am not sure of their authority in spiritual matters. The church, not the individuals, has a lot of blood of believers on their hands.
Of course healing could be demonic.
OK, just thought you ought to know that it is not only the Holy Spirit that heals. Of course the demonic is totally different in impact.
JLB said that the non-healing is due to unbelief.
I think he said that can be one reason. It is not the only reason just as people are not necessarily healed because their faith was great.

Well, of course Jesus did as you state.
He was God on earth.
God is not on earth anymore, but we are.
He doesn't interrupt nature every second of every day to do these healings we're speaking of.

I agree we are beings of 3 different "natures"...a trichotomy.
But I do believe Isaiah is speaking to our spirit part.
And please remember that our spirit part does affect our soul part.
Jesus became a quickening spirit
(Second Adam - Christ in us). Jesus bodily is not here, but it appears that what he became is here.

To me that ties to healing. Of course some may choose to say no.

I have had malaria twice. Covid once without any doubt, but the 2nd probably. None of these has ever been helped by the first MD.

Went to Viet Nam, Africa, Thailand (Thanks USAF). The 2nd malaria was suitcase Malaria from Africa.

Since I used over the counter quinine on the first Malaria case I can not claim a supernatural healing, but how did I come to diagnose what I had?

The 2020 malaria was rough. My wife thought I had died a couple of times. I would not go for treatment ( they would have called it Covid).

The first Covid was rough. Lungs, ears, smell messed up, fever. Just 9 rough days but after effects lasted a year. No MD visit.

I absolutely believe healing is for today. Do I try alternative approaches yes, but not by professionals.

Too many (well I whited out that
X-ray). You do not have malaria.

What does that have to do with this thread? I wish I knew. My trust in medicine is low.

The lady with the issue of blood is my hero. Word of knowledge, word of wisdom have helped me stumble through life. A nurse friend said you probably are gluten intolerant (read up on that - sure enough I was.

Since MDs were not much help I turned to God. About half the time I barley survived.

So some trust in chariots and horses (MDs), but I trust in the Godhead.

Really strange redneck

I believe 18 and 19 were added.
Also, it's difficult to understand completely what was written.
ON what authority do you think verses were added? Paul actually had dealings with a snake and did not die. And they laid hands on people and they were healed. So why do you think they are not verses originally penned since they were confirmed elsewhere in the records?

Agreed.

But you DID say what I posted.
I don't agree that unbelief is one of the reasons we are not healed.
The Bible says Jesus could not heal many because of their unbelief. It says it is plain black and white. Shouldn't you change your mind and align your thinking with the Word?
Doesn't God love us enough to heal us when we implore Him?
He will not violate his principles. Paul wrote that some of the Corinthians died because of their abuse of Communion. Didn't God love them enough? The point is God has ways by which he does things and his love is not diminished because we refuse to say, forgive those who have offended us. It is best not to use the "don't God love us enough to do what we want" argument.
I do say that there are miraculous healings.
My point is that there are not many and we cannot blame persons if they are not healed. (I mean believers).
You will not find many Miracles in the modern western churches for the reasons I explained but you rejected. Now you can insist that they are rare because they do not happen in your circle because you live in the west. Or you can investigate this matter to see why they do not happen in your circle.

It is true that Jesus did heal physical maladies but I often wonder if the real healing was spiritual. Quite often when Jesus healed someone he left them by saying, "Your faith has made you well" or "Your faith has made you whole."

What would Jesus see as more important - healing the body or healing the soul/spirit/heart?

Just some thoughts to ponder.
Where is healing the soul or spirit in scripture?

Isn’t the question somewhat like, what would Jesus think more important, feeding a man about to die of starvation bread or giving him a sermon?

A problem I have is that these sorts of movements feed into authoritarian and even fascist political movements. True story. International phenomenon not just a USA problem.
The problem I have with the movement is it’s lack of godly character. The few I know involved in this sort of thing are mainly focused on themselves, being admired by man (for their spiritual prowess) of course, dropping anyone who isn’t admiring them, encouraging others to focus on themselves…really bad fruit.

Adam became a living soul when the Holy Spirit breathed the breath of life into him. The body was there, mind will emotions were breathed into him.

1. Corinthians 15:45 kjv
45. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Revelation 3:20
20. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Ephesians 2:1 kjv
1. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Hebrews 10:16 kjv
16. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

John 16:13 kjv
13. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The law is not the law written in stone, but written in anew heart of flesh.

The mind of Christ is placed in our new man.

1 Peter 2:24 kjv
24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The healing took place I heart of flesh and mind.

Not a single verse you quote mentions the concept of healing the soul or spirit. Not one. It’s not a question of if we have one. It’s a question of if it gets ill and needs healing. I’m beginning to suspect Heaven doesn’t recognize sick spirits or sound, just unclean ones.

And we have the mind of Christ when we turn our thoughts to match his. It isn’t a gift.
