It's alright, answer whatever you like.I dont see a one answer fits all to the question..
speaking only for myself.. it is not unusual for me to say out loud to me ... reba you know that is not Christlike .. knock it off.. or here i often delete a post in the draft mode.,.. I pray Lord help me through this day let me help some one some how.. let me be a blessing to some one..As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have.
Not as Christ like as i wish..Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?
It's easy WarZero. As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have. Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?
That's a very nice reply, you seem very mature about this subject. I remember telling some Christians about my "Sins" once, I'll never do that again. But you sound like one in a million Reba.speaking only for myself.. it is not unusual for me to say out loud to me ... reba you know that is not Christlike .. knock it off.. or here i often delete a post in the draft mode.,.. I pray Lord help me through this day let me help some one some how.. let me be a blessing to some one..
Not as Christ like as i wish..
IF you mean how do i deal with a persons confession, for that i discern or judge if there is sincerity or just bragging... go on from there hopefully as He leads. Each person being different..
I also believe in the creator, but it is one which has reveled itself to me.It's easy WarZero.
You don't tackle it.
What happens is that one day you realize that God is real.
Then you start to understand about this idea of Jesus dying for you.
It sounds a bit like nonsense before this.
When this happens, you start to love Jesus for what He did.
Then you just don't want to sin and hurt His feelings.
But we always will because the sin nature is put under submission, but it's still there.
It just cuts sinning down a lot.
We start to understand God's love for us.
I struggle, with God's help, to replace habitual, toxic, self-destructive behavior with life sustaining behavior as prescribed by the Bible. As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have.
We all suffer from the self-centeredness that is the general issue of the so-called "sin nature."Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?
Ah but the fool must leave his cave of ignorance if he wants to risk the journey ahead.I struggle, with God's help, to replace habitual, toxic, self-destructive behavior with life sustaining behavior as prescribed by the Bible.
It takes time and persistence and perseverance, prayer and reading of scripture.
We all suffer from the self-centeredness that is the general issue of the so-called "sin nature."
The way to deal with it in others is to obey God's command to love one another. And that takes practice so, we keep practicing until we get good at it. (But we never stop practicing.)
iakov the fool
I have no idea what you are talking about.Ah but the fool must leave his cave of ignorance if he wants to risk the journey ahead.
The fool card number 0
Who knows where old sayings come from, sounds good though.I have no idea what you are talking about.
Plato's cave analogy maybe?
As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have. Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?
Do you ever resolve such "Sin" problems?Depends on the sins. For the most part I don't deal with my own that well. For others with the issues I'm aware of, often I am a bit comforted that I'm not alone in struggling with these things, and I try to give comfort, or if
I have anything else to offer, possibly something to help them with that issue. There are exceptions though, don't always know why. I either say something or hold my tongue and say very little.
It's good to be bold in scripture and if there's an issue, relate to what's taught in the bible regarding it.
I like Romans 1:18-20I also believe in the creator, but it is one which has reveled itself to me.
I've tried to pair my super natural experiences with many other faiths, but it's hit and miss.
And how does that amount to evidence, it's just something someone said. It's not like words are evidence in themselves. You said no one claims Godhood but Jesus, this is not true. Many religious leaders have claimed to be God or the son of God throughout history.I like Romans 1:18-20
18 tells us that God is mad at sin. Because He is so holy, that He cannot be in the midst of sin.
19 tell us that God can be known through creation, He is manifest in creation. All men wonder at how and why we are here. Who made the universe...or how it got to be in existence.
20 If there is a creations, there must be a Creator. So all men have no excuse in understanding that there must be a Creator.
So the creator has revealed Himself to you. This is a big step!
The next one would be to understand how.
Maybe through the person of Jesus?
Jesus is different from the leader of every other religion because He claimed to be God, the Son of God.
Did Buddha ever claim to be God?
Did Krishna ever claim to be God?
No.
For all their wonderful writings, they never did.
So for as much as I like the writings of krishna, much of which I've forgotten, he never did claim to be God.
So what are we left with??
The way I understand it, Jesus either had to be who He claimed to be, or he had to be a crazy man who went to the horrible death of the cross for a delusion of who He was.
So, you have to decide who Jesus is...
Mathew 16:13-17
The most important question in the bible:
"Who do YOU say that I am"?
Who claimed to be God?And how does that amount to evidence, it's just something someone said. It's not like words are evidence in themselves. You said no one claims Godhood but Jesus, this is not true. Many religious leaders have claimed to be God or the son of God throughout history.
From Babylon and Egypy all the way up to the Mormons.
Nothing that would interest you unless you were thinking of leaving Christianity.Who claimed to be God?
People claimed to be gods.
Caesar was a god. Not God.
Babylon and Egypt had many gods.
There were other men in Israel who claimed to be the Messiah, the annointed one of God.
But they did not hold up to the evidence.
Words are evidence if they're the truth.
If you don't believe them, then for you they are not evidence.
People are sent to prison based on words when they could be confirmed.
Was Jesus resurrected from the dead?
This is another interesting question that demands a verdict.
(from the book of the same title... Evidence That Demands A Verdict)
Did you ever consider all the prophecies Jesus fulfilled?
Does this make any difference to you?
BTW, if you don't mind saying... what concept DO you have of God?
Do you ever resolve such "Sin" problems?
