if we continue in the faith.

  • to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith,

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Colossians 1:21-23

JLB
1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Some people don't continue in the faith because they have never been saved. That's why they depart.

Ecactly....Jesus is the only way. At a future date God may give them the gift of faith and regenerate them.

Nope. Your done.

There is no way to bring that person back to repentance. As the scripture plainly says there is a fearful expectation of the judgement to come.

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10:26-27

Makes no sense. They depart from the faith because they were never saved?

They depart from the faith.

They no longer have faith in Christ for salvation.

They no longer have a sacrifice for sin.

Future is part of the "all".

All my sins were nailed to the cross 2,000 years ago and I wasn't even born yet.

How do you appropriate what was done 2000 years ago on the cross?

Is there anything you must do?

JLB

23if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. - Colossians 1:23

You have to do your part--KEEP BELIEVING.
That's the condition for God doing his part.
You either take God at his word of God or you don't: Colossians 1:22-23

Haha....clever how you kinda turned that around on me......Truly, you are a Worthy Foe....lol

It is a part of God's Saving Process —- guaranteeing that He will “ Save us to the UTTERMOST”—- That guarantees that we will “ Keep Believing”. If not for His Amazing Grace, we would not Believe in Jesus in the First Place.....Does God have us Believe one minute and NOT Believe the next.... I seriously doubt That ....

Salvation for me was a GIFT and God’s Gifts are “ Without Repentance”. I don’t worry about any if this stuff.Yeah, there are verses that makes one wonder sometimes, but there are just so many clear verses that go out of their way to give us complete Assurance Of our Salvation....Verses That create doubt have one of two things in common— they are taken out of context or they are not referring to the Body Of Christ.Anybody in THaT Body is gonna STAY in that Body.We can Rest assured of that because we can put our Faith in a verse that can’t be debated by anyone with a brain—- “ Anybody that ASKS to be Saved WILL be Saved.” So simple. Dwell on verses that can possibly raise doubts or grab hold of a Promise Of God that can’t be argued with....while some continue to argue , I will continue to REST in the Finished Work Of The Cross.....that’s “ another” Fact That best not be argued about.....God bless

Once again you have taken the scripture out of context. Snippets only get a person in trouble...you are an example of that. Do we need to go over them again?

Yes and no...for the most part no....God does the saving. God does the regeneration. God does the giving of faith. God changes the heart which allows you to repent. When you "choose" Christ you have already been chosen. You are already saved. One of the results..you confess. You are sealed for all eternity...you can't be snatched...the love can't be separated.

It appears that the COMPLETE Misunderstanding Of Heb 10 will accompany some people to their graves...... a child could understand Heb 10 correctly if they would take the time to “ Rightly Divide” God’s Word.....the churches of my youth would not go NEAR Heb 6 or 10—- The preachers themselves were never properly taught.....God has given us so many Inspired Teachers today, easily found on the Internet ( yes, there are Jack Legs there too) there simply is NO excuse for living in the fear these “ taken out of context” verses can instill in the Faith Walks Of Believers ......especially Newbies....
Educate yourselves or pay the price .....Google Hebrews 6 and 10 and Renee Roland or Andrew Farley or T W Tozer...to get the True Meanings Of these ‘ Scary”Verses .....sleep better at night.....ignore well intended, but poorly taught fear- mongers and anybody that is just “ stiff- necked”......

Hebrews 10:26

No longer remains a sacrifice for sins.

Do you understand what no longer indicates.

I think you do. They once had the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God, as a sacrifice for sins, then they “no longer” had a sacrifice for sins.

Very simple.

The context of Hebrews 3-10 is about Jews who depart from (desert) Christ, and return to Judaism.

Ask a child if he trades his popsicle for a marble, if he still has his popsicle?

He no longer has the popsicle he once had.

Please go get a child to explain it to you.

Make sure to include the part where if he trades his popsicle away, in which he no longer has it, that “really” means he never had the popsicle to begin with.

No such thing as future sins being forgiven.

Chapter and verse that says our future sins are forgiven.
Hebrews 10:10;
Hebrews 10:10, NLT: "For God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time."

You think this was written to Jews and not Gentiles?
Then why is it in my Bible, cuz I'm a Gentile.

God's elect, is it temporary?

Is there a separate New Testament for Jews or is there just one for all of us?
Is the New Testament divided up, some verses for Jews and some verses for Gentiles?
Tell me which verses are just for Jews so I can black them out of my Bible.

More opinion with no scripture.

More just throwing whatever is left in the kitchen sink at the truth hoping it will somehow go away.

  • Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

  • if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The LORD will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10:26-31

Your playing games with God’s word and people’s salvation.

It depends on the obedience.

This is what you have been chosen for...obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, Hebrews 5:9

Yes sir, once.

In contrast to the law whereby the priests had to continually make sacrifices over and over.

Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
Hebrews 10:8-11

JLB

Its the simple truth.

You are just denying the plain words of scripture, because the scripture violate you indoctrinated belief system.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 1 Timothy 4:1

How can a person remain saved if they depart from the faith by which they were saved?

JLB

Because God remains Faithful even though we are not....He can not deny himself...

More opinion with no scripture.

You “ Do” have the Scriptures......So did the Jews of Jesus’ day......they had, “ A Zeal for the things of God, but without knowledge”...
Your entire “ Doctrine” Of Christianity is based on a Twisted, Erroneous View regarding Heb.10..... have you ever taken 5 MINUTES to look at other Positions — JUST IN CASE YOU MIGHT BE WRONG? I and most others here have been taught your Confused Position all of our church- lives.....most Preachers won’t go near these verses because they KNOW that if it is to be understood the way YOU take it...it cancels out everything that Jesus accomplished at the Cross and Turns dozens of the Assurance Promises Of God into lies.....
I beg all of those New to the Faith to listen to the teachings of God-Gifted men of Faith that are more skilled at “ Rightly Dividing” God’s Word than others are. Perhaps the teachers that I agree with are the ones that are mistaken.....but don’t you owe it to yourself to check out Everything? Be a Berean.Check out Andrew Farley , A.W.Tozer , Rene Roland —- See for yourselves — they make perfect sense without having to through out half the Bible to try to make one verse fit......
