All life is a gift from God, he creates life, he also ends all life.
There is no difference between someone dying in bed at a great age or in 5he prime of life violently. God gave and God took it away.
As for justice, the midianites incited the Israelites to desert God and were punished for that.

The incident with Balaam shows they knew about God, but did not serve him.
To put it another way in line with all God's Purpose , as in His Word Reveals Clearly,

The Potter (Creator) has the right to do whatever He Chooses to DO with the CLAY He Has, He Owns, He is Shaping....

He can (and does) mold it as He Desires, burn it if He wants to, toss it in the trash, whatever He Pleases to do with it.

It is the same God.
The destruction of hundreds or thousands is just a portent of the end of the world, where billions of evil doers will be cast into the lake of fire.
Yeah, agree. Think about the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan, wiping out hundreds of thousands literally in the blink of an eye, that was like modern day judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah.

Hi Humblepie

Did David say that his child was with God? From what I'm reading, all he said was that he would go to be with him. Under the old covenant, that was the grave. There isn't any talk in the old covenant of anyone going to be with God. That wasn't part of the old covenant.

God bless,
Ted

The scripture doesn't say the grave Ted, just like it doesn't say he went with God Ted.

You can believe That God has no grace or mercy for children, I will continue to believe his mercy is greater than that.

The scripture doesn't say the grave Ted, just like it doesn't say he went with God Ted.
Hi Humblepie

At this particular place it doesn't say either. However, my point is that during the days of the old covenant when the Patriarchs were told that they were going to die they were told that they would rest with their forefathers. So Israel believed, and it is true, that they would be together in the grave. That was their theology at the moment.

So yes, David could not bring his son back to him, but just as all the previous Patriarchs and all the Jews who had died before, they would go to the grave. And that is where David meant that he would go to him.

God bless,
Ted

"People also ask

What did David mean in 2 Samuel 12:23?

that the over-all message of God's sovereignty as revealed in Scripture is not contradicted. When David said the child would not come to him but he would go to the child, he could have simply meant-- he too would eventually die and go to the child in the grave."

Those were offsprings of the Nephilim, aka giants.

That is false. The flood occurred to wipe out evil in general. There were several races of giants and they survived the flood. Because they appear in the scriptures after the the flood. They were not the offspring of the sons of God. The offspring ot the sons of God were mighty men of renown.

There is a lot that is not known of this event and people fill in the blanks.

Mighty men of renown are the giants whom the 12 spies spotted in the Land of Canaan. In all pagan mythologies there are demigods, born of lustful god and mortal woman, Gen. 6:4 is the origin. Ancient Israelites were God’s task force to wipe them out after the flood.

“There were giants (Nephilim) on earth in those days, and ALSO AFTERWARDS … those were the mighty men of old, men of renown.” Gen. 6:4

Nobody survived the flood, except those on the ark.
It is written..."Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." (1 Peter 3:20)

The giant were never referred to as mighty men of renown. And they appear as different races throughout the OT. Mighty men of renown is a positive statement. The giants are never referred to in the positive. The mighty men might have been the men that killed the giants in the OT.... Maybe David vs Goliath, David could have been among the mighty men. But all of that is only speculation. Again there is not enough information to come to a definitive conclusion in all of this. You can fill in the blanks but it is not biblical.
Some of the races of giants after the flood, Nephilim, Anakim, and Rephaim.

No, that's a negative one, they were false, repressive idols, and they were the targets of God's perceived "genocide".

Again you can speculate and I can speculate but it is not biblical.
Find the scriptures that the sons of God presented idols, and they were specifically the targets of the flood. What the scriptures actually says is….Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:11-13 No mention of the sons of God.

One of things I want you to find in the scriptures is that the sons of God impregnating these women was a bad thing. Many assume it was a bad thing, but was it? And it referrers to marriages. How long did they stay with these women? Did they raise these children? Was the event to produce men to kill these Giants? Again just speculation. If you cannot produce the scripture saying it was a bad thing, it is speculation.

Genesis 6:1-4
Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

It’s not speculation when this is specifically referenced in Jude 1:6 where it says that those angels overstepped their proper domains. Jesus taught in Matt. 22:30 - “in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.” These sons of God did get down and marry mortal women, that is absolutely evil.

These scriptures do not refer to the sons of God. If it did this debate would have been settled a long time ago.
Just angels that left their domain, nothing about impregnating women.
Angels are not normally referred to as sons of God. Whatever they were they were able to impregnate women. Divine beings with genitals???

Find scriptures with Divine beings with genitals. If they were angels why not call them angels. Find the scriptures where angels are called sons of God. We really do not know what these sons of God were.

Again not enough details. And the Jews and Christians have looking at these scriptures for thousands of years and cannot come up with a proven meaning.

Absolutely evil? Because it involves sex. If it involves sex Christians automatically think it is dirty, nasty, and evil. Remember that Yahweh impregnated a woman. Obviously it is not always evil.

The details are provided in 1 Enoch, which Jude quoted and referenced in his epistle. Sons of God are evil divine beings, not normal human beings. You don’t know that because of your ignorance, which is shown in your spin on genital and sex.

If you are looking for the truth, but sometimes the answer is….we do not know.

This was a significant event and odds are good that there is more to the story.

Something we can ask about when we get to Heaven.

Simply like a little child innocent with a pure heart not doubting, not double minded, not trusting men, only trusting the Father in heaven , relying on Him, believing His Word....TRUTH,
Very interesting follower.

So IF one day, something or other is proved that does not agree with the bible,
will you're faith be challenged??

Or will you be able to hold on?

And I sure hope the answer isn't going to be that this is IMPOSSIBLE to happen....
That would kind of end the discussion right there, wouldn't it??

Yes, all who die without faith in Jesus will be cast out of God's kingdom.

God bless,
Ted
Why end your posts with GOD BLESS?

What does this mean to you?

Does God bless the little children whom Jesus DEMANDED come to Him?
Or does He just go ahead and throw them into hell?

Maybe you could post some verses since you have the affirmative and thus are required to show some evidence for your statement.

Then I'll reply to show you how you're following a false God and not the God of the bible.

Thanks.
