Thanks old friend. Especially for "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity!" What must we do ezrider to see this happen even in our lifetime? Talk about a mystery, even in this Forum Brothers and Sisters quarrel about doctrine when the same Holy Sprit is supposed to indwell us all. There is something definitely wrong here and my heart grieves that the Scripture that is the banner of this thread looks like an impossibility.
What do you suppose that we can do ezrider? In my heart I hear our blessed Lord wanting change and all I can do is make these notes and pray for change.
I suppose we do dwell together in unity.
Under the OC, some of us would have been stoned before we even joined this web site.
I will admitt that needing discipline points to needing to confess sins.
I John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
That is a better deal than being stoned on the evidence of two or three witnesses.
Our unity is strained at times, but there is a lot of liberty too. While the hearts of men grow cold:
Matthew 24:12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
I John 3:20 KJV
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
While most see our hearts as the center of our spirit, I think it is not. Do not panic. Take a deep breath.
Romans 7:25
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Our heart can meditate on the Word (new born heart)
Our mind can meditate on the Word (new born mind)
Our former desperately wicked heart depends on the suffering death and resurrection of Jesus.
Our former carnal mind depends on the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.
Since many do not talk of this, I do not wish this to sidetrack the whole thread. We are discussing salvation though.
Reba has talked of the Glorious body of Christ in the now. I agree with her. Neither of us will see totally eye to eye.
A stomach does not think like a hand.
An eye does not think like a kidney.
A lung does not operate like a liver
The church is a diverse body. We are members of that body. Your hurting should be recognized by all. My solution may not be the one for every issue of your life. Your solution may not solve every issue in my life, but every body part is recognized and needed.
I used some inner body parts, and I hope that caused no harm.
As we work out our problems; we are the glorious church of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not without sin as he was, but at the last trump and judgement throne all will be settled.
Chopper I appreciate you. Thanks for this thread. Thanks for tolerating an arm pit (eddif).
In Christ (although from Mississippi)
