But the Jews did and this is how we have to study by their night and day. This is why you are coming up with only days.

Yes the seventh day is the Sabbath.
The day before is Friday.
The day after is Sunday, the first day of the week; The day He rose.

The point being we are living in a different culture and we express things differently now than they did then.
I agree within our culture today we express things differently, but yet we can not bring the Jews numbering and beginning of days to our culture and that is what you are missing.
It's like those who want to bring God to their own understanding instead of understanding God.
Friday at sunset begins Saturday, Saturday at sunset begins Sunday as God called it evening and morning. This is how the Jews still continue to number their days.
Do you believe Friday was a Sabbath when Jesus was crucified?
.
The information you seek is located back in post No.117. There's a list of week-days there. The one you want is third down from the top of the list.
_
The understanding that you keep ignoring is three days and three nights is not literal 24 hour days and nights.
It’s an expression which was understood in their culture as being three consecutive days.
I agree it’s how God told us to number days.
Please show me what you disagree with in the following?
Day 1 Friday - And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”...
Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before. That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near.
And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid.
Day 2 The Sabbath Saturday - Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
Day 3 Sunday - Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
Luke 23:43,53-24:1
Do you disagree that the third day was Sunday, the first day of the week.

You have showed your side and we our side. Let each one draw their own conclusions.
Friday sunset becomes Saturday - 3rd day, 3rd night
I have nothing more to add as we are just saying the same things over and over so I'm going to bow out for now.
The Passover could had started on Sunday, that would be a High Day,To me a day refers to any part of a day, whether day or night.
I don’t use the term night and day to describe a day.
Example:
My crew worked a full week last week, everyone got 8 hours.
This means my payroll is going to be 40 hours for everyone in my crew, because they worked Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day.
Even though I said they worked a full week.
Week refers to Five days not 7
A full days work refers to 8 hours not 24.
This is how my culture communicates time, associated with work.
The culture of that day was different.
Please show me specifically what you disagree with in this scriptural model of the crucifixion and resurrection.
Day 1 Friday - And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”...

The Passover could had started on Sunday, that would be a High Day,
Or you may say, High Sabbath, as the other feast, like feast of tabernacle.
There is a difference between, High Days, and weekly Sabbath.
John 19:31
He expired the 9th hour , our Wed 3pm. Matt.27:50 PREPARATION day.
Buried in haste before sunset, our Wed.about 6pm, before the High Day, the first day of the feast, our Wed.sunset.
Our Wed.sunset to Thursday sunset is the first night and first day in the tomb.
Our Thursday sunset to Friday sunset, the second night and second day in the tomb.
The weekly Sabbath, our Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, which Saturday Sunset, is the first day of the week., is the third night and third day in the tomb.
I believe you are misunderstanding the High Day, from the weekly Sabbath.
Again and the last, lolDoes the first day of the week change during the Passover?
Please show me what you disagree with in the following scriptures.
Day 2 - The Sabbath Saturday - Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. Luke 23:56
Day 3 Sunday - Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
Luke 24:1
Do you disagree that the third day was Sunday, the first day of the week.

Hi Diane,Again and the last, lol
Lev.23:4-7
These are the feasts of the Lord, EVEN HOLY CONVOCATIONS,
Passover,
The 15th, the feast of unleavened bread, first day, ye shall have an HOLY convocation, ye shall do no servile work therein.
Lev.23:24-39
Blowing of trumpets
In the 7th month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a SABBATH, an HOLY convocation, do no work therein.
Day of Atonement
The 10th day of this 7th month, it shall be an HOLY convocation, ye shall do no work.
It shall be UNTO YOU a SABBATH of rest.
Feast of Tabernancles
The first day, shall be an HOLY convocation, do no work therein.
Harvest
Also , the 15th day of the 7th month, when gathered in the fruit of the land, keep a feast unto the Lord 7 days, on the first SHALL BE A SABBATH., and on the 8th day, shall be a SABBATH.
Does the 15th day of the 7th month, fall on the weekly Sabbath every time?
Thus, when, in John 19:31, it is referred to as a High day, is a SABBATH, does not necessarily mean a weekly Sabbath.
It was the first day of the Feast, of unleavened bread, as noted in Lev.23:7.
As I have stated before, I believe, you have the weekly Sabbath, confused with another Sabbath, the first day of unleaven bread.
Wed, is not day one.Hi Diane,
I understand the differences in the Sabbath.
Using those passages seems to me that a Thursday crucifixion would fit better than Wed. Please keep in mind a day starts with night first.
Day 1. 14th, Passover aka day of Preparation. Jesus dies.
Night 1, Day 2. 15th, First day of feast, Sabbath.
Night 2 Day 3. 16th. Saturday, Sabbath
night 3, Day 4. 17th Sunday, First day of the week when Jesus rose.
Using this model, we see that there is an extra day. Some say that you can't count certification day, but I don't really know why.
If we use your Wednesday, what does it look like?
Wed, Day 1
Thursday, Night 1, Day 2
Friday, Night 2, Day 3
Saturday, Night 3, Day 4
Sunday, Night 4, Day 5
Even if you have Jesus raising the day of Saturday, that's still the 4th Day. If you had him raised in the 3rd night, that would be what we know as Friday night, Saturday morning.
How do you account for this?
Wed, is not day one.
Wed, before Sunset, buried in haste.
Thus, Wed, sunset, starts the Thursday.
Thus, Thur.Wed sunset, through Thursday.sunset is day one, one night
Thur.sunset which starts Fri, we have Thur.sunset to Friday sunset as being the Second day and second night.
Fri.sunset, which starts Sat. We have Fri. Sunset to Saturday sunset, the third day and night, thus Saturday sunset is the first day of the week, Sunday.
Thus, Sat. Being a SABBATH, they waited for Sun.first day of the week, to visit the tomb, and HE WAS ALREADY GONE.
Must have risen between Sat.sunset, and before dawn.
Most likely Sat.Sunset, as which would be 3 days and 3 nights.
Lev.23:5I kind of got lost how you track days. Can you simplify that for me?
I like to use this pattern if you could put it in a way I can follow.
Date: Night 1, Day 1
Date: Night 2, Day 2
Etc
You have:
14th, Day 1, Jesus dies and is buried, but this day does not count. Why?
Two other issues if you could address for me.
Mark 16:9 says Jesus rose on the first day of the week. This is what we would know as Sunday Morning.
It sounds like your saying he rose Saturday night, but wasn't discovered until the morning. That doesn't align with the plain reading of scripture. Now, I do understand that culture can play a role in better understanding what appears to be plain, but isn't. But I don't think that's the case, and here is why.
Regardless of the day, the 14th is Preperation Day aka Passover.
The 15th is a high Sabbath, regardless which day it falls on.
The 16th is the day the first fruits are presented.
John's Gospel has Jesus dying as the Passover lamb is slaughtered.
Jesus has to be in the grave that day, before Sabbath.
Jesus raises on the day that the first fruits are offered.
Paul echos's this in 1 Corinthians 15:20
Keep in mind the 15th is a Sabbath, so the first fruits were picked on the day they are offered which is the 16th which affirms Jesus rose on the day of the 16th.
Because both John and Paul have Jesus being raised on the day of the first fruits, we understand then that Jesus was raised on the 16th. We also know that Jesus was raised early on the First Day, that puts us on Sunday.
How do you explain this?
