Is the Law of God dead? And if yes, how?

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.
But be that as it may, I did not burden you. Nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you by cunning! Did I take advantage of you by any of those whom I sent to you? I urged Titus, and sent our brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not walk in the same spirit? Did we not walk in the same steps?
Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.
2 Corinthians 12:15-19

Crafty — Strong's G3835 - panourgos

  1. skilful, clever
    1. in a good sense, fit to undertake and accomplish anything, dexterous, wise, sagacious, skilful
    2. in a bad sense, crafty, cunning, knavish, treacherous, deceitful

Question:

Do you believe Paul was trying to deceive people into serving Satan, or being clever and wise to see people come to Christ, and serve the Lord?
Again a very long and evasive reply.
My reply to your question is straightforward.
Paul was doing exactly as he says " deceiving the church using crafty means " ( 2 Corinthians 12: 16)

This is devolving into an anti-Paul thread.
Is there any way to end the entire thread?
Speaking Biblical statements is NOT anti paul brother Hopeful. there was Satan inside the Garden of Eden, a garden planted by father God for his two first kids on earth Adam and Eve. did anybody ask what was that wily deceiver doing there in the first place? God's ways and thoughts are different than man's ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. He sometimes uses evil as stumbling blocks to test us. Hence the effort. there was a satan in NT as well. I did a lot of due diligence. But I do understand i am making many here uncomfortable. I apologize for speaking the truth. for everything I wrote is yet from the Word of God.
That being said I will not be contributing for a very, very long time Hopeful, JLB, Peter, and all of you friends. I contend(ed) for the Lord. That's it. I have said this before, and I say this again before saying Adios to you all, that pray to the Lord and ask Him about me ( rajesh sahu) . He will testify for me. For he is my witness. I have nobody else. He is my source. He is my heart soul, Lord, Guru, and King. He is the breath of my soul. At least I contended for Him. I'm proud of that. if He does not testify for me, I am a liar and deceiver. But if He does answer your prayer in the affirmative brothers and sisters, do some soul searching. STUDY AND OBEY THE RED LETTERED WORDS OF THE LORD is my final imploration to y'all.
In my due diligence on paul, I had also discovered the following things He did /said about his own self
Take a gander at this. I will NOT be debating anymore anything for a very, very long time, if at all. I wish not to disturb anyone anymore. Period. This is thread of theology. So check what paul is saying about his ownself

Paul says the following shocking things about His own self:

  • I am a murderer ( Acts 22:4)
  • I am a thief 2 Corinthians 11:8
  • I am a liar Romans 3:7
  • I am crafty 2 Corinthians 12:16
  • I am a blasphemer of God and Spirit 1 Timothy 1:13
  • I am chief of sinners 1 Timothy 1:15
  • I beat and brutalized new Christians Acts 8:3
  • I forced new believers to blaspheme God and Spirit Acts 26:11
  • I prevented many from going to Christ and be saved
  • I am a deceiver ( 2 Corinthians 12:16)
  • I became FATHER of the Churches 1 Corinthians 4:15 (contrary to warning of Christ in Matthew 23:9)
  • I partook ( with other Pharisees) in the murder of martyr Stephen Acts 22:20
  • I partook ( along with other Pharisees) in the plotting the murder of Christ John 11:53
  • I partook ( with other Pharisees) in the brutal assassination of Christ on the Cross
  • I taught a doctrine of saved by GRACE -- Ephesians 2:8-9 – a word and doctrine Jesus never uttered or taught
  • I crucified to the Cross, and abolished the perfect( Matthew 19:7) and Eternal, Just and Pure ( Psalm19:9-11) Law of God (Colossians 2:14 , Ephesians 2:15)
  • I, Paulie, condemned the Rock of Christ Peter(Matthew 16:18), and called him a hypocrite, and claimed Peter was leading many astray Galatians 2:11-13
  • Jesus condemned and cursed me ( and other Pharisees with seven deadly Woes ( Matthew 23
  • Jesus called the Pharisees (of which I, Paul was one) Sons of devil in John 8:44 “You ( Pharisees) belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires”

Again guys I leave with a prayer. I'm grateful to everyone here from whom I have learned. I have contributed a lot. Almost EACH of my 560 odd posts point repeatedly at Christ. I apologize to everyone that I may hurt again by quoting verses that are uncomfortable to read, and going against the accepted flow/ doctrine. The objective was always to edify / and call to wake up.
That being said I depart in peace, I depart in love, and I depart with an apology.
Remember friends no matter who teaches what Jesus taught LOVE was the ONLY redeeming criterion that will be used on the last day to accept or reject. ACTS OF LOVING KINDNESS -- exactly as He repeatedly taught. Well, that's it! no more teaching/ preaching/ sharing :)

That ( Matthew 5: 19) was a very good catch Truth , my compliments :) Christ seldom ( if at all ever) contradicted himself
But upon researching origin of this verse in Greek from where all translations come , I found the word is not breaking one the Law, but "loosening' the least bit ( of the Law)
To loosen or bend is substantially different from breaking . Obviously an error in translation. I would encourage you to check it out using the Greek lexicon.
Law breakers were creators of Lawlessness and were condemned by Christ in Matthew 7: 21-23
Law benders could yet survive the judgment it appears , although as the least ones in eternal sanctuary of God. Best would be to obey the law comprehensively through practicing loving kindness consistently as Christ taught ( Matthew 22:37-40, Matthew 7 : 12, Matthew 25:31-46), and similarly mentioned in Proverbs 10:12, 1 Peter 4:8)
cool - thanks - so those who bend/loose the law and teach others to bend/loose the law - like those who say they are loosed from the law/the law is void?

even though people think paul said the law is obsolete he is the one who said don't abolish it establish it - Romans 3:31

paul was wrong a lot - as was peter james john - that's why God's red words ot and nt are the only pure holy words - if any words contradict the red words a serious investigation should be the next step

paul was young and a hot-head - he was unmarried - he called himself a father and teacher after God commanded people to not do that because God alone is to be called Father Teacher - he lost barnabas as a ministry partner over his wrongful judgement of john mark and yet later said send john mark to me asap as he is so valuable to me - he started riots in Acts by making a deceptive statement that pitted pharisees against saducees when he knew very well that the real issue was about the gospel - he said before the law there was no sin yet the flood happened before the law - he said anytime a person hears the law it causes people to sin yet anyone can prove this false by reading the law that says do not kill steal commit adultery and find out no one has an instant incontrollable urge to go do that very sin - paul said he used deception to trick believers into blaspheming so they could be put to death so he appears to be well versed in that behavior - he is not the glowing picture of perfection for sure - as were many bible figures

some people think dead people replaced God as head of the church - other people think paul took over and changed things after the ascension yet God said He does nothing without first telling His prophets - iow if God did not clearly prophesy a change no one can make one and claim it's authorized by God - it's probably better to study well the red words and then examine paul's words against that to find the pure truth of God

Again a very long and evasive reply.
My reply to your question is straightforward.
Paul was doing exactly as he says " deceiving the church using crafty means " ( 2 Corinthians 12: 16)

Actually my response was simple, and straightforward. I explained using the scriptures and a definition of the word “crafty” from the Greek.

I showed the context of his use of the word and what His motive was.

I then asked you a question so as to clarify for us what exactly it is you believe Paul is being crafty about, since the word has a dual meaning.

So now if you would please answer what exactly it is, you believe Paul is being “crafty” about, since this seems to be the crux of your allegation against Paul.

iow if God did not clearly prophesy a change no one can make one and claim it's authorized by God

Do you recognize the book of Hebrews as scripture?

For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. Hebrews 7:12

From your writings, it’s seems you are validation this brothers deception about Paul and his writings in the New Testament?

Do you believe the wrings of Paul were scripture, and inspired by God?

God did speak beforehand of a covenant change. A covenant introduced by the blood of Jesus.

The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to d them

Paul preached that new covenant.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

We are not free to sin.

Jesus-
A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

19“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 20You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’

And we must abstain from sexual immorality.

I am neither Kosher nor do I set a day aside, a sabbath day with zero work with even meals prepared in advance YET I have the Spirit of Christ in me as a testimony from GOD that I am in the covenant and faith Paul spoke of.

Paul saw all the law as law and considered the law in judgments he made such as
“Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.

Paul did not preach a righteousness by works of the law such as circumcision but put importance on "faith expressing itself through love"

Paul short comings were noted to Jesus but overruled by Jesus.

“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

15But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

Paul noted in His letters the ways He used to be and didn't deserve to be called a Apostle but also stated he is what he is by the grace of God

His credentials
I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?

30If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

very true - but the prophesy says God will write HIS laws on hearts and minds - no where does GOD prophesy that His laws will cease and be replaced by grace - Hebrews 8:8-12 - in fact God says heaven and earth will pass away before God's laws - Matthew 5:17-20 - and all has been fulfilled? - the suffering Messiah prophecies have been but not the conquering Messiah prophecies

We use the NT as a guide as to which laws lead to death. Its clear, and not to just me, Jesus is not enforcing koshers laws and the sabbath or religious observances or sacrifices. If so He would have told me for its His Fathers will to raise up on the last day all those the Father gives Him.
If one doesn't keep all the law they are a law breaker. Do you keep all the laws and decrees of the Lord? Then what is the command of the law for disobedience? Is that still in effect for you? If righteousness could be obtained by the law then Christ died for nothing.
We have been baptized into the death of Christ and in that manner through death have been freed from the power of the law just as man whose wife dies is free to marry again without committing adultery.

God still judges between the righteous and unrighteous.
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Jesus said differently - Matthew 5:19 - Matthew 4:4

even paul said differently Romans 3:31

everything must line up with what God says

paul was talking about keeping the law to be saved/righteous/acceptable to God Acts 21 - so i agree with you if that is what you are talking about - if you think paul contradicts the above 3 passages one of which is his own words then i disagree

To me, the word...Genesis to Revelation, is a guide...it helps me keep my balance as I walk in faith.
To me, it is a precious gift from God, for which I thank Him.
"And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever...where there will be no more death, no more mourning, no more crying...or pain." Hallelujah!

i find that too - it all is filled with God's power

God has always been merciful to anyone who calls on him

Adonai...El Shadai...both are names of the Lord most high!
Yeshua...Messiah...died for us...because He loves us! He is Master... Lol tc

Doesn't accusing one of the writers of the NT go against the very first item of your "statement of faith"?
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God in its entirety, and is without error in the original autographs, a complete and final written revelation from God.
Except for Paul.?

Absolutely, and that includes Paul too. See the following:

[Act 9:15 KJV]
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

[2Pe 3:15-16 KJV]
15 And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

[2Ti 3:16-17 KJV]
16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Interesting connection but unfortunately not relevant here. Paul wrote letters to explain his meaning that were a lot more than two sentences. A succinct answer to the question of the law is Jesus.

Problem is this is the cornerstone and not going into any depth. This particular subject is a key one to the whole of church history, denominations, theological colleges etc. So there is no succinct answers only layers of complexity, God bless you
