In this class, did anyone ask these questions?
1.What was the purpose of tongues?
2. What did God want to accomplish through the spiritual gift of tongues?
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
This scripture answers your question. We don't know what we should always be praying for and for the intercession of the saints. People are so selfish about not pursuing a gift Jesus said is yours if you believe on his name.
What does it do for me?
What do I need tongues for?
I can do this in plain English.
It's all about me, and If I don't see a value in something God has for me then just forget it!!!! Me, me, me, me, me!!!!
I went after the gift because...........
1) Jesus said it was mine out of the other 8 gifts used in a Church setting.
2) for intercession and helping others as a tool to be a blessing.
So I did not stop seeking or give up, I did not receive right away because God had to help me get to the place of receiving.
Just an example of Tongues Yesterday.
At Church the wife had been feeling the anointing like a burning feeling in her stomach. That normally meant danger for someone or us in the past but she did not know what it was. We got home and she just started to cry a few times and did not know why........... (God does not use sorrow to get something across to us, but He will help us by symptoms of things)
Well, the only thing you can do is pray in tongues about it, God is needing to get something over to us. The wife started to pray in tongues and I went in the bedroom to pray in tongues. We both got accident, keep praying.
My youngest son was out with some friends, so trying to connect the dots my wife called them to see what they were doing. They were at the Landing (Branson) just doing what teens do. They were eating and talking about video games and God. The wife spoke safety over the driver (My son's older friend) and let them go. I told the wife I don't think it has to do with someone we know or else the Holy Spirit would have told us after praying in tongues.
So we just pray though for victory whatever that car crash or accident is. We had no idea but that it was accident related somehow, but just pray and it's taken care of.
Wife went to work and I took my daughter over to her Grandmas across town. I prayed in tongues all the way there and back. When I got home my son was home and asked if "HE" could go to Grandma's.
Just then I got in my spirit.............WAIT!!!! Just WAIT!!!
I told my son here in a bit I would make yet another trip across town and drop him off. About 45 min I got this......... GO!!! GO!!! so I told my son lets go to Grandma's. I prayed in tongues all the way there dropped him off and started to pray again back.
Driving on Shepard of the hills on the way home I see a car in the road and some Lady trying to wave me down. I stopped, pulled over and she was frantic asking if I had a cell phone. I did not have it on me, then she told me a couple on a motorcycle had just gone off the steep cliff on the side of the road all the way down into the tree's below.
I looked at her and said where? i went to the side of the road and could not see anything as there was just to many tree's and brush.
Great.......... It was really steep but I started down the best I could to find these people and just then I knew exactly why we had been praying. Getting most the way down I saw the motorcycle under some brush and against some rock. There was a man there but I did not see the girl right away (His wife)
The wife had been thrown about 20 feet under some trees and brush and she was talking. I checked to make sure there was not bleeding that needed compression then went back to the guy to check him out and make sure there was not arterial spurting that needed compression. I check for missing limbs that might need a tourniquet.
Just then I said both of you will be fine, and shall recover. A guy came down behind me and I called up for the girls that stopped to get me a cloth, shirt something. The guy was missing his nose and part of his face, his shirt covered in blood. He was talking but going into shock. His foot was at a 90 degree angle but still attached which is good that the bone did not bust any major arteries.
Not much else I could do though. I just talked to them telling him his wife was fine and alive and he was going to be fine. His bike missed two big tree's on the way down though by inches following the path the bike cut through and I already know God had this taken care of as both were Christians.

I said I was there, God was there, and the power of His love and healing was there where I was at. When I got back up to the top on the road someone asked me how they were and I said that God already has taken care of them, they will be fine.
It's not about "US" people or what you think you can't get................................... We have work to do, and you need to go after everything God gave us to use for others. Now step outside your comfort zone and get to seeking.
This just happened yesterday............. (
