Living without sin ?

It will be too late by then.
We can die with Christ now at our crucifixion with Him.

What will be too late?

IF we crucify the flesh daily, by the Spirit, how will it be too late.

Your beliefs, and mine, are illustrated by the way we walk.

Yes, one of is teaching truth and the other is not.

Amen.

  • If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 1:8-10

I would hate to go through this life, thinking I couldn’t confess my sin before God and be forgiven and cleansed of unrighteousness.

It will be a sad day, when a person who never confesses their sin, because they have “deceived themself” into thinking there physical body is sinless, and they are sinless, and then they die in their sins and come before the Lord on that Day, only to realize it’s too late.

  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Sorry I missed that. You should be looking for the differences because they are different words. Specifically look at the word annulled:

Eg: Matthew 7:13
apōleian
ἀπώλειαν ,
destruction

Romans 6:6
katargēthē
καταργηθῇ
might be annulled

"Null" means to have no value, therefore "annulled" speaks of the value given to the body's desires (consider James 1:13-15 in this context).

"Structure" means to have an orderly composition, therefore "destruction" means to undo the orderly construction of a thing. The destruction of the body means to take away the functionality of the body.
Again, I see no difference.
This is just a question of semantics.

Is your point to say the old man is not destroyed?
Only brought to nothing, or annulled?
That seems to be synonymous.

It seems you may not fully understand what is required in the Gospel, to be saved.
Repenting is required to obey the Gospel, not repenting from sin.
We differ there.
Repent means to turn to God in submission to Him as Lord.
This by default means we are called to turn away from Satan as our lord, or master.
That would be the case if we are repenting from serving the devil...but isn't that the same as turning from sin?
They are the same thing to me.
The way we repent, obey the Gospel, is to confess with our mouth Jesus as Lord
By this we are saved; born again, regenerated.
  • with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
As long as it copies Paul's "calling on the name of the Lord", I can agree with your POV.
It is written..."And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16)
Just as Peter preached in Acts 2:38, Paul called on the name of the Lord when he was washed- baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins

Baptism in water is for believers, people who are saved.
Believing the message of the kingdom of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is how we are saved.
Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12
  • lest they should believe and be saved.
Then comes the baptism is water and the baptism with the Holy Spirit, in which we are empowered to live our life free from sin.
Isn't that something you don't believe in?
Even calling it heretical?
The message of the Gospel is repent, not repent of your sins. Now one can repent of their sins until they are born again and filled with the Spirit.
Of course we are to turn away from our sins.
I can't agree.
Water baptism is about identifying with the (likeness) of the death and (likeness) of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus as a public confession of faith.
It is far more than that.
“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32
I sure am glad I called on the name of the Lord at my water baptism, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of past sins after I had turned from sin, the devil, and a host of wickedness.

What will be too late?
You stated..."The problem is if we literally die we go to be with the Lord in heaven."
It will be too late to die with Christ at our crucifixion with Jesus.
IF we crucify the flesh daily, by the Spirit, how will it be too late.
If you actually crucify it once, you don't need to do it daily.
The "flesh", the old man, the body of sin, is dead and gone already.

Yes, one of is teaching truth and the other is not.
Amen.
  • If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)
Walk in the light and you can say you have no sins.
Verse 8 applies to those who walk in darkness, which Pro 4:19 says is sin.

Walk in the light, and then you can say you have no sin.
As God is that light, and there is no sin in God, those in Him-the light, also can have no sin on them.
I would to go through this life, thinking I couldn’t confess my sin before God and be forgiven and cleansed of unrighteousness.
Don't commit any and you will not have to confess any.
It will be a sad day, when a person who never confesses their sin, because they have “deceived themself” into thinking there physical body is sinless, and they are sinless, and then they die in their sins and come before the Lord on that Day, only to realize it’s too late.
Hopefully, they will have turned form sin by then, and started walking in the light.
There is no sin in God...the light.
  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
With all our unrighteousness cleansed, we can say we have no sin !

We differ there.

Maybe you could show us some passages where the Gospel was preached using the phrase “repent of your sins.”

In that way, I can see where you are coming from.

With all our unrighteousness cleansed, we can say we have no sin !

Yes, and continue to walk in the light as He is in the light…

Not hiding from God as Adam and Eve did, but remaining in the light because we want the Lord to continue to see our heart and continue to examine us; being open and honest with Him, because we love Him and want to be with Him always.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:7-8

In this way we continue to have fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1

If we should sin, God does not cast us away.

If we wander away from Him, God wants us to return and be reconciled.

And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
Luke 15:20-24

Do you believe if a brother in Christ does sin, and wanders away from Him, was never saved to begin with?

If you actually crucify it once, you don't need to do it daily.
The "flesh", the old man, the body of sin, is dead and gone already.

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. Luke 9:23-24

Denying ourselves the things of this world, daily and sowing to the Spirit, daily is how we will reap eternal life.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:7-8

Sorry brother but we are called to daily take up our cross and follow Him. We are to daily be filled with the Spirit; sowing to the Spirit, feeding upon His word, spending time with Him alone, separating ourselves to Him. Fasting and praying in the Spirit.

These daily habits of sowing to the Spirit are how we grow strong everyday, and crucifying the flesh by the Spirit.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Romans 8:12-13

  • but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

The Spirit leads us to have godly habits, to sow or invest our time towards the things of the Spirit, spending time in prayer, private devotion, reading and meditating on His word, as well as fasting and praying in the Spirit. These are they ways we stay built up inwardly, to live our life according to the Spirit.

The needs of the body?
Lost me there...
Paul is saying that he is no longer controlled by the needs of his body because it is through those needs that desire drags him out of his place of contentment, giving birth to sin, as James puts it. Paul is saying that he is not unaware of his body's needs, but that the weight given to the consideration of those needs is nil.

"Every competitor exercises self-control in all respects. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we do it to receive an imperishable one. 26 So I run in this way—not aimlessly. So I box in this way—not beating the air. 27 Rather, I punish my body and bring it into submission, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified."
1 Corinthians 9:25-27 TLV

If something is brought to nothing, it has been destroyed.
It can be said to be true in some ways.
Again, I see no difference.
This is just a question of semantics.
Yes, we are warned about arguing about words. It only is strife and destroys those who observe us.
Is your point to say the old man is not destroyed?
Only brought to nothing, or annulled?
That seems to be synonymous.
It is more that the expression you have used is saying something different than the doctrine you are promoting. To say that the body has been destroyed means that it no longer functions, but the doctrine teaches that the body is a vessel that functions to the glory of God. Only, it is the desires of the flesh that have been brought to nothing because it is they that war against the desires of the spirit. The flesh is not synonymous with the body, and the annulment of it is not synonymous with the destruction of it. Look, I have shown you the original word used by Jesus to speak of destruction, and it is not the same as the word used by Paul for the annulment of the body. Why is Paul not saying that the body has been destroyed?

The point is that "I" am more than my body. The "old man" is the flesh: the mind and the heart, but the body is only a vessel. It is the "old me" that has passed away, not my body. Our bodies continue to serve their function under new management when we become born again.

Maybe you could show us some passages where the Gospel was preached using the phrase “repent of your sins.”

In that way, I can see where you are coming from JLB
Are these close enough for you?...
"But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Matt 9:13)
Who is He calling? Sinners?
"When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Mark 2:17)
"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32)
"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." (Luke 15:7)
"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." (Luke 15:10)
"Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee." (Acts 8:22)
"When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." (Acts 11:18)
"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." (2 Cor 7:10)
"And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed." (2 Cor 12:21)
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God," (Heb 6:1)
"If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Heb 6:6)
"Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent." (Rev 2:5)
"And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not." (Rev 2:21)
"Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds." (Rev 2:22)

There are more, but I thought this would be enough.

Luke 15:20-24
And now you are accommodating "sinning Christianity" again.
Those reborn of God's seed cannot commit sin.
Do you believe if a brother in Christ does sin, and wanders away from Him, was never saved to begin with?
Brothers "in Christ" do not commit sin.
There is no sin "in Christ".
