The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand and seek God.................Plsm 14:2

There is NONE that understands
There is NONE that seeketh after God
There is NONE righteous
There is NONE that do Good

NO NOT ONE

From Romans 3:10 and 11

In light of these scriptures who will seek God?
Who understands and chooses to accept God in there natural state?
Who is righteous enough to do a good thing and ask God for help?

Those who were choosen by him to his salvation will do these things, but the natural man will not..................NO NOT ONE

It's good to gently tell others that God WILL save his people without help from man. When a person comes to God it is because God called them. If you are seeking God as the one with the power to save his people by himself and without your help, how blessed are you.

Give God ALL the credit, honor, praise and Glory for what he has done.
Now this simple statement is profound............................May God Bless you as only he can do..........:)

Mine ELECT, in Whom My Soul Delighteth !

This is why the Lord chose His only begotten Son...

All condemned in the FIRST ADAM...

All justified freely in the LAST ADAM... our Lord Jesus Christ.

Simple enough...

Of course for many men, this isn't good enough...

They must also consider themselves the elect of God... along with God's only begotten Son.. as if it's Christ AND them,. rather than Christ in them.

But then again, hell and destruction are never satisfied are they...?

Who is righteous enough to do a good thing and ask God for help?

imo.
Many secular people do things that are not harmful but helpful to others. To deny this would just be silly. BUT.....
Are the Righteous works? No. What makes a good work righteous is that work is done to glorifiy God. The only works the glorify God are the works that are produced in the believer by the workings of the Holy Spirit.

Will a sinner, someone who is not born again, call out to God for help? Yes. Why would you think they never would?

Section 2: Specific Rules and Guidelines (the 'meat' of the ToS)

2.1: This is a Christian site, therefore, any attempt to put down Christianity (or declare that it is false) and the basic tenets of our Faith will be considered a hostile act. Please read: Statement of Faith

We consider Paul's writings to be part of the inspired Word of God. This is a Christian forum and any posting(s) that is intended to purposely distort Paul's writings will not be tolerated.

Active promotion of sinful behavior will not be permitted. This includes promotion of sexual sin and/or homosexual behavior. Do not make statements either by posts or posting URLs to other Websites which advocate activities, beliefs or teachings contrary to those of Christianity as articulated by the historic creeds, as understood by Evangelicalism, and as interpreted by the christianforums.net Leadership's sole discretion.

VSC what is your reason for hanging around the forum?

You say you are not Christian, don't have to be to be here. At the same time I have had about enough of the constant belittlement of the Word of God.... I am not telling you what or how must believe. I am strongly suggesting for you to abide by the ToS you have agreed to....reba

Because they are DEAD, spiritually without life, unable to do anything. It takes God to give ANYONE spiritual life. It's his power to give life. You must be born again. Can something dead do anything? And who can choose to be born or made alive? What part or choice did you have on when you were born physically, and what part do you have in being born again spiritually. It's God alone that gives life. Once you are born a new creature, spiritually, give God ALL the honor, praise and Glory. :-)

You are not hearing me. I am not speaking of doctrine, righteous living, born again, etc.

Why do you think that a sinner would not cry out to God for help? Do you think sinners never believe there is a God?

What makes a good work righteous is that work is done to glorifiy God.

This line of thinking blurs the lines as it pertains to what goodness and morality actually are. What this leads to is the idea that something can be at the same time good/righteous and amoral provided that it was in accordance with the perceived will of God. That means righteousness is not about morality or love for ones fellow man but rather it is scrictly about obedience to the mandates and perceived will of God that one has. SO the question I ask is what is one to do when there is a conflict between what is morally good and what the person's perception or belief about the will of God is?

Really good question.

I don't think that good is ever amoral. I don't think that good and righteous are always synonymous terms. I believe that righteousness is strictly a term in reference to what God says is righteous and what God does.
I believe God created this world and man to glorify Himself. He created man to have a personal relationship with Him.

SO the question I ask is what is one to do when there is a conflict between what is morally good and what the person's perception or belief about the will of God is?

I think one would have to question both. If I perceive that something is morally good but does not agree with what I perceive or believe is the Will of God, then something is amiss. We may think with all our hearts that something is good to only find out later that it just didn't turn out that way. We only see the beginning not the end.
But then my belief about the will of God could be off in a set of circumstances.

God's Word gives us very clear guidelines for most things.

I know this is going to sound silly but I'm trying to keep this simple for my own sake, trying not to dig myself a hole.
If I give a bottle of water to a thirsty man, can I be sure that would be in God's will? Yes.
If I give a starving man a sugar doughnut, is that a good thing, not if he's a diabetic.

So what do we do. We pray, read the Word, and seek the face of God. He has all the answers.

God Bless you, Truth
