Sabbath Day business

While out of the other side of your mouth you call others a lying false prophet, and not a brother.
It's okay to call out a false prophet, and well within my right as a believer to consider that person not to be a brother. Whether or not they really are a brother/sister is between them and God. But I am free to consider them an unbeliever if I want to.

Yes, you have that right.

But know this. For you have committed murder, and instead of fulfilling the Law of Moses, you have condemned yourself instead.

Oh wait, on second thought, you have fulfilled the Law of Moses. I apologize Jethro.

Anybody who says what they hear is from God, but it contradicts the Bible, is a false prophet. And false prophets ain't nobody I'm going to clasp hands of fellowship with. And I won't apologize for it. And to think that means I hate them would be flat wrong.

How can I contradict what is hidden from you?

Sure they do.

Complete Nonsense!

All the scripture twisting in the world won't change what the law of Moses says...

Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Exodus 31:15

This is what the law of Moses required.

But I am free to consider them an unbeliever if I want to.

As long as you know that false witness is a sin, Lars, (Oops, I mean 'Jethro'). Tha's fur sure. You are free. Those whom the Son sets free are free indeed. They are even free to use their liberty (not saying you do this but just talking about freedoms) as stumbling blocks. But that is their false feeling of security talking because they are free for the moment and apparently may say as they like, because they can say whatever they want. It's just not advisable.

But if you see me do that? Call me on it, please. I may, or may not, return the favor. You never know with me.

Anybody who says what they hear is from God, but it contradicts the Bible, is a false prophet.

Or they could be merely temporarily confused, that is, if my personal definition of confusion is even close.

Confusion is:
What happens inside me when I try to entertain two opposing ideas simultaneously without a clue as to which one needs to be given priority.

And if we want to know what confusion squared is? Sure, no problem:
Confusion to the 2nd Power or (Confusion)²:
What happens when normal confusion becomes amplified by God into The Whirlwind, as prophesied of in The Bible, like God speaks of in Nahum 1:3 and Isaiah 40:24 and Jeremiah 20:19 and Proverbs 1:27 and Isaiah 5:28 and elsewhere, but in this sense it is not what happens as found in Job 38:1, nor in 2Kings 2:11 either.

My point (in case you missed the unspoken point of this) is that God does not need you to accomplish His Work. All of His works are completed from the beginning. And he started telling us about them right there, at the beginning too. Now that is rest of the Godly kind. We can't even come close except as the Spirit leads.

But you alrady knows you tha... :nod

And as long as I am free-wheeling it, here's more, and it's free too. No charge for my Resting Sabbath Labors and even if I did try to charge you for this work, it would not be sold to you on Sunday and/or on Saturday either (just to cover all my basis and bases) and to be certain that I could say (legitimately) that I've tried to stay on TOPIC (which again, is Sale of Stuffs on the Sabbath):stupid

It appears that there's mucho latitude but only if they wake without attitude... so the question becomes: Who woke them? Did they arise with thanksgiving in their heart? Or was it maybe:
View attachment 7216

We know they awoke with God. Or rather, we trust they did. And I'm betting it was thanksgiving in their hearts too, so I am free and free indeed.

So then... here we go. Hang on. Since "Latitude Without Attitude" = Freedom and since we have Grace ... I don't wanna be too bold and I don't want to stretch the Grace (favors that I have not earned) in order to try to make it worthless, because it (their grace) is indeed precious and to be carefully guarded and cherished. But still... Who is the "they," youse say? They is our readers, of course, and they almost need the longsuffering of G-d Himself to tolerate me and my familiar manner of speaking... now don't they?

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus...
(oops! I meant, "Yes! There is more fulfilled prophecy about Sabbath and the Cross to ponder, Poindexter! -AND- it's free and not for sale to those who have committed to their LOVER, a.k.a G-d)
View attachment 7217

Here is the Scripture to ponder, Poindexter:

Jesus said "it is finished' at 3:00 in the afternoon -AND- at three o'clock in the afternoon on Nisan 14. He fulfilled it to the day and the hour. ("IT" being the instructions as given through Moses about the Paschal Lamb) -AND- he was in the grave during Unleavened Bread -AND- he rose on First Fruits! (not the pagan Easter as the Wanna-Be-Universal-church said). The Wanna-Be-Universal-Church (whose formal name shall go unmentioned here) paganized Christianity; twisting it until the Messiah's own people couldn't recognize him anymore. Well G-d is bringing it all back now! And i omit the o in G-d out of respect this time, not mockery. But I can say "God" and may type it out too (without disrespect and so may you) because we are FREE! We are free indeed. Made to be that way. Nothing less. Talk about fully filling (fulfilling) the LAW of MOSHE, right?

TO: Classik :wave2

Thanks for this thread.

I know it's a headache for the Mods but they are a friendly sort and this is a lively conversation. I love it! :confused

But maybe you could redirect the conversational flow back to the Original Topic that you (as the OP) had in mind? It will save the mods some trouble :wall if you don't mind?

I'm as guilty as anybody (probably more so) for wandering - but I have a ready excuse. I'm an ol man, and like that Ol Man River that Mark Twain wrote about, I meander all too well. :crossed

I can't think of any reason for a casual conversation in The Lounge (or as old timers call it, in General Talk) to swell to 250 posts without a moderator or two coming to prick the bubble. This is a flesh battle and I need to apologize for my part in it. I love listening and saying, "Say on!" while almost daring others to continue. But please, mods? WE all need grace. Maybe me more than others? But we all do need unmerited favor. Okay, maybe not reba :rollingpin -but we can't all be as taciturn as she.

I open my mouth too much, believe it or not :mouthdrop
Too funnny indeed. I accidentally saw your posts...not that I was really reading the replies: I quit reading all (but was rather skipping most replies) when I revisited and saw a thousand replies, most of which are the balls that rolled off the pitch.

Trust reba. She'd be back :D

Thanks! Classik, a.k.a the OP! And great advice (as far as it went). It sounds like you agree that "most of the replies are balls that rolled off the pitch" and that what I said about staying off topic is easy, right?

What would you think about (as the OP, or Original Poster) suggesting that most of the replies are well within your goofy tolerance *wink* and that you hope that reba is as graceful (and as free with her latitude without attitude) and as free with her longsuffering toward us as she normally is? Meaning that you, as Original Poster, or OP are okay with some of the balls (but not all of them) going off pitch maybe?

I thought I'd gave that a tries because I likes me to covers 'dem bases and the BASIS real good like.

BTW: I like your avatar, Mona-Lisa for UNICEF, remind me to ask you about it somewhere but not here -- we have gone off topic to fetch too many balls so far for that one to fly... And this is only POST # 253, so there's still room for this one to grow before it's thousands (like you said) Nanner-nanner Classy! (Oops! I meant "Classik") Sorry I called you "Classy" -- I know how you hate that, right? What-wat Ol' Bean? Chase balls where they fly even if they are over the fence? I can fly too, you know.

:nag :squint :eek :confused

EDIT: Okay, I've skimmed it. Let me ask you... Do you know what a pork chop tastes like? Have you ever, even once, tasted an unclean food? It's rhetorical. No need to answer me. I trust you know exactly what I mean.

Keep it short, we are burdening the "Stay on Topic" rule even now.
Yes, I have. I especially loved bacon, but had to give it up once I learned it was a kind of forbidden "fruit". And no, I do not know what you mean.

So let me ask you this jocor. If you start off with breaking the first commandment, what benefit do you have from keeping the others, whether unto faith or unto justification?
If you are referring to me breaking the first commandment as an unbeliever, there is no benefit. If I break it as a believer, then I repent, confess, receive forgiveness and move on endeavoring to sin no more. I do not aggravate the situation by committing more sins on top of idolatry. I continue to walk in obedience to the others as I get right with Yahweh concerning my sin.

Sorry, I couldn't sleep, but I am off to try again, But before I do I must ask you a question. Please think long and hard before you answer. I can most assuredly tell you that you have and are breaking the first commandment of G-d. But that is not the issue, for of that too I know you are forgiven. But there is something troubling I find about you response.

Why did you say, "IF I break it as a believer, THEN I Repent? You said IF, and then offered your THEN. Why did you offer to repent of THEN when you do not even understand your IF. How can you repent of something that you do not even know what it is.

I suggested to you that you may be breaking the first commandment of G-d, and if so, then what do you gain by trying to keep the others? And because I suggested it, you reached for your security blanket of Blood and tried to cover the sin before you even knew what to repent of. You can't repent of an IF. So because I have suggested to you that you are breaking the first commandment of G-d, and if it is in your heart to repent and become (don't want to use the word clean because it is not appropriate) whole again, then what exactly are you repenting of? Because you offered your repentance, what was your sin?

Obviously, the "if" means I have come to the knowledge that I sinned. My idolatry was pointed out to me. Then I repent. If my idolatry is not made known to me, then I cannot repent of it.

Are you literally accusing me of idolatry apart from this fictitious scenario you posted?

without a clue as to which one needs to be given priority
Why would a Christian, born of God, sealed with the Holy Spirit, wonder which one gets priority? Honestly, only itching ears serving ungodly desires would choose to follow voices contradictory to the Bible.

Confusion comes in all flavors?

Should I name my first born after me or after my dad?
Should I buy a honda or a yamaha?
Should my friend dig a hole or fetch a pail of water?

Your question, Lars, assumes something (many things) not in evidence.

That's why.

Honestly, only itching ears serving ungodly desires would choose to follow voices contradictory to the Bible.

Honestly? ORLY? ONLY ITCHING???
Did you really just try to "honestly" accuse me of "itching ears" 'cause it sure sounds like you did (well, to me, that is) but honestly? I will try to listen better than you did for me... "honestly?!?" Harumph!

PS (my post script emphasis was on the word "TRY")

:stupid (and put that sign away, fool! You are me, how dare I call me stupid? I don't care if I'm with me, that's not justification for calling me names, now is it?!? HUH?)

Ever wonder what it sounds like to Jesus if he hears us arguing? WE are His Body, right? I do also wonder sometimes, but I've never had a chance to work that comedic routine into a conversation before... Maybe I should quit my day job and take that show on the road? But alas, I don't have a day job, so that's ruled out. Semi-automatically. Oh well. Greasy come and greasy goes. I wish my day job had something to do with grease... but of course, and alas, it doesn't. Heck, I don't even have a day job? So what is that feeling for when you think you're experiencing the same stuff twice? Pesky View? 'Presque vu' ? No... that's for 'almost seen' or 'on the tip of the tongue', almost said, but what's the one I want? Deja view? Close enuf. That's a tiny 10-4, good buddy.

"...if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7 NASB)

I wonder, do you even read the Bible at all? Or are we dealing with the blinded eyes of an indoctrination that can't see the plain words of scripture right under your nose? You're not going to get much sympathy in this forum mocking the blood of Christ as being a security blanket.
