Seriously.. whom is the tribulation actually for.

Mat 24:7 `For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places;
Mat 24:8 and all these are the beginning of sorrows;

What here is specific to this generation? ALL these things were happening in the OT never mind the NT or the years since.

2Ti 3:1 And this know thou, that in the last days there shall come perilous times,

2Ti 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
2Ti 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

It seems to me Paul is telling Timothy about something that will occur that Timothy needs to know about and Paul tells him, "But you continue preaching and teaching the things that I have taught you, don't pay those evil men no mind. You will not be deceived."

I just don't see anything specific that points at this generation that we are living in. :shrug

How do we know? Not all earthquakes have been recorded through time, only the most severe. Some of those were very severe but there was no way to record their strength as there is now. :shrug

The Greek philosophers of the 5th and 6th century BCE had different theories about the cause of earthquakes. Most believed that it had something to do with water.

Hello Kathi...The trib will last seven years in all, being the last of Daniel's prophecy of seventy weeks. One has to rightly divide the Word of truth and needs to look beyond the writings of Paul as well as Rev.Please read and study Daniel 9 to get the full understanding. The bible is very clear on a literal 7 year tribulation. I agree with you we need not have division over biblical writings in the bible. I do pray we all agree the basic's of salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.. his death,burial and resurrection and believe it from the heart.

Are Earthquakes Really on the Increase?


We continue to be asked by many people throughout the world if earthquakes are on the increase. Although it may seem that we are having more earthquakes, earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or greater have remained fairly constant.

A partial explanation may lie in the fact that in the last twenty years, we have definitely had an increase in the number of earthquakes we have been able to locate each year. This is because of the tremendous increase in the number of seismograph stations in the world and the many improvements in global communications. In 1931, there were about 350 stations operating in the world; today, there are more than 8,000 stations and the data now comes in rapidly from these stations by electronic mail, internet and satellite. This increase in the number of stations and the more timely receipt of data has allowed us and other seismological centers to locate earthquakes more rapidly and to locate many small earthquakes which were undetected in earlier years. The NEIC now locates about 20,000 earthquakes each year or approximately 50 per day. Also, because of the improvements in communications and the increased interest in the environment and natural disasters, the public now learns about more earthquakes.

According to long-term records (since about 1900), we expect about 17 major earthquakes (7.0 - 7.9) and one great earthquake (8.0 or above) in any given year.

Anytime there is pestilence in an area, famine follows. Anytime there is drought, famine follows especially now in third world countries. This world does not have anywhere near the pestilence and famine suffered in previous generations. Read history and you will see that.
The drought of the 1930's brought famine. The invasion of locust in Utah in 1875 caused total crop destruction across much of the southwest.
