The reason you cant lose your salvation is?.....

Poster JLB if you can't say whether a person in Hades can receive a drop of water from a person in Abraham's Bosom, or not, then why do you accuse me ( and Chessman ) of mocking, and treating with contempt, God's Word ? Doesn't this suggest it's possible that a person in Abraham's Bosom may not be able to give a person in Hades a drop of water ?

Would you like to apologise ?

Here is the scripture I was/am discussing -

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

These angels are called sons of God in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Not false sons of God, but sons of God.

If you were to go down to the bottom of hell and ask them about sexually immorality, what do you think they would tell you?

You and chessman brought up a different scripture and made your comments...

What is your answer to my question about 2 Peter 2:4 ?

You and chessman brought up a different scripture and made your comments...

Chessman and I had a pun concerning Luke 16 which you implied was mocking and treating God's Word with contempt.

When you cannot say whether a person in Hades can receive a drop of water from a person in Abraham's Bosom, how can you make such a claim ?

Would you like you apologize ?

I answered you question.

The problem with your reasoning is, the part of hell theses angels were cast down to is Tartaros.

I don't find any rules that involve us here on earth and Tartaros where these angels were cast down to and delivered to chains.

I will ask you and chessman again -

If you were to go down to the bottom of hell and ask them about sexually immorality, what do you think they would tell you?

The problem with your reasoning is, the pun between Chessman and myself has nothing to do with Tartarus or 2 Peter 2.

I will ask you again why do you accuse me of mocking, and treating God's word with contempt, when you cannot say whether a person in Hades can receive a drop of water from a person in Abraham's Bosom, or not ?

The subject of this thread is "The reason you cant lose your salvation is?....." Let quit the bickering and demands for apologies and get back to the subject.

6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 6-7

Who were the people that were/are set forth as an example for the Brethren ?

Jud 1:3-4 KJV Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (4) For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The angels and the inhabitants of Sodom and Gommorrah.

... having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 6-7

Sexual immorality was the sin in both cases.

They would probably tell you it's not worth losing your salvation over!! :nono

They were not Brethren :nono

The angels are sons of God, as we will also be at the resurrection.

sons of god were cast down to hell...

If we are sons of God and they are sons of God, then we are brethren, with Jesus who is our Big Brother!

Think about it.

34 And Jesus answered and said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
Luke 20:34-36

JLB
To me Luke 20:36 is saying they have become children of God, and cannot die even as the angels cannot die. I don’t see the claim that angels are the sons of God. As far as the word angel, it simply is interpreted as messenger; not a son.

Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Heb 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

I guess I'll just jump in here...

John 10:28–30 (NASB95)
28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
[...]
Not,"they might not perish" or " they probably won't perish." It is actually a double negative and reads more like this...." They will never, no not ever perish."

If we believe that another bible verse says the believer can perish somehow we have a contradiction of John 10:28
Other verses only cause contradiction if you insist on letting the less specific scripture of two scriptures interpret the more specific scripture. Which is exactly what OSAS does. OSAS interprets the clear 'if you keep believing' scriptures using less detailed scriptures that talk about eternal never-ending life but which don't delve into the fact that eternal life is conditioned on trusting to the very end.

In the case of the scripture above we know from other scripture in the Bible that you will never perish if you endure in your faith in Christ to the end:

"Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death." (Revelation 2:10-11 NASB)

The condition for God's promises of never dying and living forever is that you trust in Christ, and that you continue to trust in Christ to the very end.

******************** Jesus Christ himself, said the following ********************

“Whosoever believes in me will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:15

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:16

“He that believes on him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Jn 3:18

“He that believes the Son has everlasting life, and he that believes not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Jn 3:36

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one that which sees the Son, and believes on him, will have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”Jn 6:40

“Truly I say unto you, he that believes on me, has everlasting life.” Jn 6:47
Clearly, the condition for eternal life in these scriptures is believing in Christ, but you insist that is not true--that you don't really have to believe to be saved, just that you did one time somewhere along the line before you died. If OSAS (your version, anyway) is not a license to sin, what is?
