Bible Study The Work of God: Terminal Agitation Ending in Silence

Yeah, I didn't expect you to actually admit that Satan tempts you in MIND.

For the record, Satan does tempt me IN MIND. And that does place the tempter IN MIND to do so.

So, yes and yes for me.

What I might observe in this is that Satan can not speak this matter, because it's TRUTHFUL to the scriptures. Satan in the mind of believers will DENY that Satan tempts in MIND every single time, just like clockwork.

But others who actually PERCEIVE that it does happen, are Believers In TRUTH.

Others are simply asleep, in denial of what many will see as quite obvious.

I would encourage you to be filled with the Holy Spirit, so that you can walk in the victory Jesus Christ paid for you on the cross.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

I have no interests in lying on behalf of the tempter. Sorry. OR even less, claiming my sin is NOT OF THE DEVIL. 1 John 3:8.

Lying to God in Christ doesn't interest me at all.

And I would NEVER claim my flesh is not contrary to and against the Spirit, because it IS. Gal. 5:17, Phil. 3:21.

Satan is not in the mind of believers.

Satan does tempt, that is for sure, but externally in believers.

That is your view. That is not the view of scriptures.

2 Corinthians 12:7
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Gal. 4:

Did your choices remove indwelling sin and evil present with you? Romans 7:17-21

And I would NEVER claim my flesh is not contrary to and against the Spirit, because it IS. Gal. 5:17, Phil. 3:21.

Trying to change the subject, again. :nono

We know that sin dwells in our flesh.
You are claiming it is Satan that dwells in your flesh.

We know that the flesh is contrary to the Spirit, as that is not what we are discussing.

Since we know that the flesh is contrary to the Spirit, we are told to walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh.

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:16-18

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

I know it must be hard to be honest about this truth, since you are carrying around Satan in your flesh and mind, but never the less, you must learn to obey what this scripture is teaching.

  • I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
and again
  • And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

Don't post on my account. I think any believer who claims that Satan does not tempt us internally is FLAT OUT LYING. The tempter tempts and does so internally and that's all there is to this subject.

Romans 7:23
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Eph. 6:11-12, SAME WAR. SAME ENEMIES.

And further, any believer who claims that CHOICES eliminate sin dwelling in our flesh or evil present with us is FLAT OUT DECEIVED. Romans 7:17-21.

AND, even further, anyone who says their sin is NOT OF THE DEVIL is in direct OPPOSITION to truthful disclosures of scripture. 1 John 3:8, Mark 4:15.

You will NEVER, in your life see, so much scrambling AWAY from scriptural truth than from religious hypocrites.

They just can't take Jesus' Reality:

Matthew 23:27
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

But what do they do instead? Claim they are WHITED and BEAUTIFUL!

There's yer sign!

There should also be a warning to all those who fear the lord and love His truth, that those who do not rightly divide God's word, in which they choose to deceitfully mishandle His word, should be marked as such.

WARNING - WARNING - WARNING

Both you and smaller have been shown several times now, that Mark 4:15 refers to the 25% of UNBELIEVERS, that have the Gospel message stolen from their, "lest they believe and be saved".

No one is denying that we wrestle against, and are at war against Satan, devils, and demons, as well as fallen angels, especially me.

We have been given authority to cast out devils.

  • The point of contention I have, is whether the context Mark 4:15 refers to believers or unbelievers.

Mark 4:15 refers to unbeliever's, 1/4 of the unbeliever's described by the Lord.

Not 100%, but 25%, who have a hard heart.

  • Smaller has used this verse to validate is erroneous theory that Satan dwells in our flesh and in our mind.

Ephesians 6:10-12 refers to believers, are their authority, to fight against the devil.

As I have said, and as you have seen in the back and forth discussion I have had with smaller, he is teaching everyone that Satan dwells in our flesh, and in our mind [internally, as he says] in which the "no more I" that sins is Satan within us doing the sinning.

When Romans says it is the sin in our mortal bodies, not Satan.

20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. Romans 7:20

This was Paul teaching us about his struggle and discovery of the victory he learned that he had over the sin in his flesh.

  • Paul said his life that he lived, was no longer him, but Christ living and expressing His life of righteousness from within Paul.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Paul like all of us, must learn to crucify the flesh, with it's passion's and lust's, so that we don't walk according to the flesh.

One of the work's of the flesh, that identifies a person who is living from and walking in the flesh is their HERESIES.

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh....

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:16,19-21

Smaller has repeatedly claimed that Satan dwells in his flesh and mind, and taken many scriptures out of context, and distorted them to validate his belief that Satan dwells in him, and is the one doing the sinning.

If that isn't heresy, I don't know what is.

  • The scriptures teach us to resist the devil and he will flee from us.
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7
  • They also teach us, that those who "keep themselves" the wicked one, Satan, can not even touch them.
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 1 John 5:18

I urge to consider these things and to be careful about aligning yourself with someone who claims to have Satan dwelling in his flesh.

JLB
Hey my old friend. You keep saying....
that Mark 4:15 refers to the 25% of UNBELIEVERS, that have the Gospel message stolen from their, "lest they believe and be saved".

JLB, you of all people should know that the Word of God is inclined to have several interpretations. Please note this verse....Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.

You seem to have tunnel vision on the meaning of Mark 4:15 IMO. What is pictured in that text is the Word of God. You say it's for unbelievers, but there is no reference to the Gospel. The context is centered on the Kingdom. I can see a reference to the unsaved, as you have mentioned several times. Since the spotlight is on the Word of God, I believe we must include the whole council of God that deals with any doctrine of obeying God as He gives instructions on any requirement of anyone to, in the end, to inherit the Kingdom of God.

Smaller and I are convinced that, as soon as Satan realizes that God has imparted important instruction to a person's well being, Satan comes as fast as he can to steal away that information. Even though the text doesn't mention the Gospel, I'll include it just for you. There are many other topics that I see that the Word is pointing to that Satan would like to steal from a serious student of God's Word like this one....
Put On the New Self
Colossians 3:1 "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."

Are you saying the tempter is "in you", Smaller?

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Just submit to God, and resist him.

JLB
JLB, the tempter has access to our thought process like he has with access with God to accuse us. Since we have a fallen nature still in us, that is the tempter's door to the lust of our flesh. There is a false doctrine going around these days of ecumenicism that preaches anything that's luvy duvy warm and fuzzy. If I and smaller should teach the truth about how easily the enemy of our souls can mess with our minds, and rob a serious believer in Christ Jesus of important life changing Commands, Statues, laws and rules for holy living, those serious Believers would fall on their faces and cry, O wretched man that I am.

Why do you think the great Apostle Paul did the same when he came to the conclusion that....
Romans 7:21 "I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Those serious Believers who were on their faces would be very serious about a holy walk before a holy God. Chapter 8 of Romans teaches about a walk with and in the Holy Spirit. Thru out the Psalms, David knew that the only place that he was safe from his enemies was to abide very close to his God, under His wings.

Smaller is really like an Old Covenant Prophet warning folk about the danger of Satan's activities in these last days stealing the Word of God from Believers so that they will stay as infants who know very little of the power of Satan. When a serious Believer knows of the power of prayer and spiritual warfare, they can cripple demonic plans.

I wish you would recognize the weakness of our nature to give in to the lust of our flesh, and want what feels good at the expense of holiness and allowing an open door for the enemy of our souls to steal what the Holy Spirit wants us to know. The fear of God, and the pursuit of holiness is Satan's number one desire to take away from us. We are no threat to demonic forces if we refuse to heed the warnings of those who God has called to help us to be obedient to Him in all things.

Paul says it is sin, which is in his members.

I agree with Paul.

Smaller would have us to believe, it is Satan in our members and in our mind.

What is your answer to this?

Sin in our members or Satan?

1. Sin
2. Satan

I'm not asking if we battle against Satan or not.
I'm not asking if Satan tempts us or not.
I'm not asking if Satan try's to deceive us or not.

That would be so wonderful if it were true.

However it is not.

I challenge you in Jesus name to discuss the following point with me, in all honesty.

Smaller is teaching everyone who will listen, that Satan dwell's in our flesh and in our mind.

He uses Mark 4:15 and 2 Corinthians 12:7 as well as other scriptures, to teach his doctrine that every Spirit filled believer as well as, unbeliever's, has Satan or demons dwelling in their flesh, and tempting us all from within us; "internally".

In addition he teaches that it is Satan, or demons within us that do the sinning, and not the person themselves.

He believes this was the case with Paul the Apostle.

Please share your thoughts on this point, so we both are discussing the same thing.

Thank you, JLB

No one would disagree that Satan tempts the mind, but that is not the point of discussion.

You make these statements so you can disguise what you are teaching, which is Satan dwells in our flesh and mind, and does his work of tempting from within the believer. :nono

While its true that the Bible is the word of God, its not the case that every verse is aimed, doctrinally, at the born again New Testament Christian.
As a matter of fact, the Book Of Hebrews is often not even directed to the born again at all, as its not dedicated or given to the "church" specifically..
And this is why much of what is in it, is actually not written to believers as any type of instruction or doctrine , and this of course creates a lot of confusion within the mentality of some who have not rightly divided the word of God (NT), and thus misapply Hebrew epistle verses, regarding the "church".
So, its not the bible that is confused, its the people who in general have been taught by the confused, which confused them.
It the people who spend more time reading theological studies then they do studying the word.
And the thing, the unfortunate thing about theological confusion, is that it tends to burrow into the self righteousness and pride of a person, evolve, and harden.
Doesn't take that long.
For example, i can show many of you that God does not count your sins against you anymore, does not even see them. Romans 4:8.
I can point out that the means to hold you guilty of them, the LAW, is gone, abolished on the Cross.
I can show you that God has removed your sin from you as far as the east is from the west.
I can explain to you that you could not be saved if you had any sin..... and that once your Faith was counted as RIGHTEOUSNESS, then righteous you are, sinless, or you were never saved......... And once you are, you remain the Righteousness of Christ for just as long as Christ has died for your ALL YOUR SIN. (Lifetime).
And how long is that?.......Its exactly as long as you will be "in Christ", and "believing on HIM who justifies the UNGODLY".
And YET.... you know what you'll do?... some of you...You'll run to 1John 1:9 and try to confess your sins that are not even there.
And then you'll say......"but what about when i do those things NOW that are called sin while i was still unsaved".
Thats easy...
You tell God you are sorry......But you dont confess the deed with the idea being that you have messed up your salvation, so you need to get it back, or redo it, or recreate it again.....by confessing sins.....trying to re-save yourself, or something similar.
OMG.
Its hilarious , but its so sad when so many are just upside down and clueless about what being made RIGHTEOUS has done for you.
Look, you are in a relationship with God, ......=family.
He's DADDY.
And just like when you blow it with a brother or a mother or a son or daughter... this thing you did, sin, whatever you want to call it...
....do they stop being your parent or your relative if you "sin"?
But you think if you "sin" against your FATHER in heaven after you are saved, that you are cut off till you confess again the sins you remember, while you dont even realize the ones you forgot?
C'mon.
C'MON !!
When you mess up, all you have done is created a prick against your conscience and a sick feeling in your heart.
God knew you were going to do it......do you realize this yet?
The "sins" you commit the next decade, ..were all known to God (foreknowledge) before He saved you.
Have you figured this out yet?
Listen....You have not broken your relationship with your Righteousness when you mess up, and that is because God created and gifted you with this based on what Christ did for you, and you can't part from it......because its NOT OF YOU.
So, when you mess up, when you do that thing again that you are so sorry about...... you have ONLY messed up the harmony between you and your Father in heaven..... You have destroyed the peace.
But you have not lost your salvation or your righteous standing, because this is not of you, this is all of GOD and the free GIFT of Righteousness.
You've just lost that clean peaceful "im right with God" feeling........The harmony with Him is undone...... So, you say you are sorry, (often with tears)..... you move on, and the peace returns, the joy comes back, and the relief from your guilt, is wonderful.
"There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ".. = YOU.
But all during this time, all during this entire process of messing up<>saying you are sorry.... you were and are just as saved and just as righteous as you were before you ever did that thing that GOD knew you were going to do before you did it.
See it?
DO........YOU.........SEE.........IT?
THIS is salvation.....THIS is the Atonement.......It is the FINISHED Work of God through Christ on a CROSS that is separate from you and what you do in your earth suit.
One you get this, you will be oh so happy to realize , = What God has done for you that YOU cant undo.
========

So, SMALLER..... all scripture is given for..........__________. But not all scripture is doctrine.

A person says, ..."all scripture , every word applies to us".

Well, if that is true, then go tell your 5 husbands that you are at the well talking to Jesus about the fact that they are not all your husbands.
Or, "you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do"...
God and tell your pastor that this is meant just for him (doctrinally) next Sunday morning, before he steps into the pulpit, ...etc.
So, by application= all of the bible has application for us, but its not all aimed specifically at a NT believer regarding doctrine.
