Bible Study The Work of God: Terminal Agitation Ending in Silence

No matter what we as believers do, this is not a matter of believers. It is a matter of indwelling sin which is and remains in an adverse relationship with Gods Words.

Paul called this very real activity in his mind, via concupiscent thoughts, an action of NO MORE I in his own mind. Romans 7:17 & 20.

There is no stopping it. The law was meant precisely to make sin utterly sinful, and to give sin ADVERSE AGAINST THE LAW STRENGTH.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:12-13

We have been given the grace and power to stop, to put to death, the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit's inner working power and grace.

  • When we sow or invest to the flesh, we amplify the flesh's ability to manifest it's lustful desires.
  • When we sow or invest to the Spirit, we reap the benefits of the righteous life within, and end up fulfilling the desires of the Spirit.
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
Galatians 6:8

If we hang out in bars and strip joints, and do drugs and look at pornography, then we will no doubt empower the sin that dwells in our flesh to gratify it's sinful desires.

If we pray in the Spirit and read the bible , and worship the Lord, and entertain Godly things, then we will crucify the sinful desires of the flesh, and reign in dominion over the sin that remains in our mortal body.

A lifestyle of investing in the things of the Spirit, being led by the Spirit, will result in a fruitful lifestyle pleasing to God.

We have been given the grace and power to stop, to put to death, the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit's inner working power and grace.

Patent falsehood.

Paul presented NO ONE, NO NOT ONE, as sinless.

Paul made the complete opposite claims that you do. Paul did NOT present that any of the below scriptures CEASED being TRUE after salvation.

Romans 7:7-13
Romans 7:15
Romans 7:19
Romans 7:17 & 20-21
Romans 7:23
Romans 7:25
1 Tim. 1:15
Phil. 3:21
Gal. 5:17

The natural body, with indwelling sin and evil present is factually DEFILED by indwelling sin/evil present no matter how much of an "act" it puts on to the contrary.

The Spirit is actively against and contrary to our flesh precisely because of indwelling sin and evil present. Romans 7:17-21.

Although I appreciate your attempts to paint it otherwise, there is no getting past the obvious claims to the contrary, AS IT IS WRITTEN.

This does happen: Mark 4:15. And this is WHY the flesh is defiled by EVIL THOUGHTS. Matt. 15:19-20, Mark 7:21-23 and Matt. 5:28

Any believer who says they do not have these evil defiling thoughts is deceived and truthfully, it is not even THEM who is making those claims, but the deceiver is speaking through the lying and hypocrisy.

A lifestyle
JLB

I don't believe a lifestyle of lying hypocrisy is pleasing to God whatsoever. Nor do I think my flesh or the flesh of any other person is anything but contrary to and against the Spirit, REGARDLESS of their lifestyle choices claiming this is not true.

Gal. 5:17 is a fact. Phil. 3:21 shows us all that we do have a VILE body. These facts do not change via LIFESTYLE. Nor is the indwelling sin or evil present of any believer one iota better than any common blinded unbeliever on the street. Romans 3:9, 1 Tim. 1:15.

Believers who think their indwelling sin/evil present is "better" have merely been deceived by these workings.

Isaiah 13:11
And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Isaiah 26:21
For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Isaiah 27:
27 In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
9 By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.

Paul, through the Holy Ghost, was drawing directly from Isaiah above, when he penned these words:

Romans 3:
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

LOOK at Isaiah. Look at Paul. They are IDENTICAL CLAIMS.

There is only ONE CRY that God Allows and acknowledges:

The CRY for His (unmerited) Grace and Mercy in Jesus Christ.

There is now and will be no other place to stand.

IF we understand this principle, that it is SATAN who is involved, internally, in temptations in our mind, then the worst sinner on planet earth has invaded our space. THAT sight is how Paul saw himself as the chief of sinners, post salvation, because he SAW the connection of his own INDWELLING SIN to the devil. 2 Cor. 12:7.

Paul didn't see himself as the chief of sinners, when he wrote his letter to the Corinthians.

Paul considered himself the chiefest of sinners when [at the time] Christ saved him.

A "sinner" is described, by Paul himself, as a person who is lost and without God.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15

Paul is saying that Jesus came to save sinners, of whom I am at the top of that list; the chief of all sinners, because he persecuted the Church.

Paul did this in ignorance, not knowing that he was persecuting the lord Himself, the very Lord Whom he claimed to serve.

Paul certainly was saved, at the time he wrote the letters to the Churches, and not a sinner as you claim.

Sinner = Lost without God.
Saved = Redeemed from the devil, and with the Spirit of Christ.

Paul was saved at the time he wrote the letters.

You have misunderstood what Paul was saying, and have twisted it into validating a sinful lifestyle for the Christian, the very thing Paul warned us against.

JLB

Believers who think their indwelling sin/evil present is "better" have merely been deceived by these workings.

Nobody thinks this.

You have invented such nonsense as a logical fallacy to validate living a sinful lifestyle, thinking this is somehow acceptable to the Lord.

You are deceiving people into accepting a defeated lifestyle of bondage to sin, rather than walking in the Spirit, and reigning in dominion over the sin that remains in our flesh.

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

  • We have a choice to either fulfill the lust's of the flesh, by allowing sin to reign in dominion over us, or to "put to death" or "crucify" the sinful deeds of the flesh, by the Spirit.
  • do not let sin reign in your mortal body
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:12-14

No scripture here, just scripture references, with your opinion attached, rather than the scripture itself.

Paul considered himself the chiefest of sinners when [at the time] Christ saved him.

Again, false. Paul, when speaking of sinners, said "I AM" the chief of sinners, not "I USED TO BE." I am is quite present tense. 1 Tim. 1:15.
A "sinner" is described, by Paul himself, as a person who is lost and without God.

Again FALSE. We can not say we 'have,' present tense, NO SIN, and even be in truth. 1 John 1:8.

Paul did by no means claim himself as a NON-SINNER. Romans 3:9 clearly identifies that ALL are in fact UNDER SIN, including ourselves. We are, just as Paul says, NO BETTER.
You have misunderstood what Paul was saying, and have twisted it into validating a sinful lifestyle for the Christian, the very thing Paul warned us against.

You are only reading personal inferences that do not exist to suit some bad theology, NOT what the scriptures actually state.

There is now and will be no other place to stand.

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

JLB

Nobody thinks this.

YOU just finished trying to claim a sinner was the unsaved. Now you're back to not being sinless as a believer, therefore A SINNER.

Maybe better figure out what you really mean and stick to it? Your positions seem to be like mercury. Can't really put your finger on it as it always slides away.

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

JLB

Oh, are you back to being sinless now?

Seriously, when are you going to FESS UP to the truth that sin dwells in our flesh and evil is present with us, and that INDWELLING SIN and EVIL PRESENT do what they do? Just as Paul shows us in Romans 7:17-21.

Paul did by no means claim his indwelling sin and evil present with him CEASED to exist and had no actions in him, after salvation.

Nor did Paul try to cover up his indwelling sin and evil present, trying to "justify" those very real facts. Paul did the opposite, he condemned those workings, even while admitting he had them. Romans 8:3. Just as JESUS DOES.

Again, false. Paul, when speaking of sinners, said "I AM" the chief of sinners, not "I USED TO BE." I am is quite present tense. 1 Tim. 1:15.

You still refuse to post a scripture because the scripture reveals the truth of what Paul said.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

A person is either a sinner or they are saved.

A "sinner" is described, by Paul himself, as a person who is lost and without God.

Jesus is separate from sinners, but dwells in those He saves.

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; Hebrews 7:26

15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15

  • Paul was saved, when He wrote the letters.
  • Paul was a sinner at the time Christ saved Him.

Are you claiming Paul was saved, or that Paul was a sinner?

JLB

Oh, are you back to being sinless now?

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

Where in my post have I used the word sinless?

You are back to making up lies about what I posted, and no wonder, your doctrine comes from beneath.

24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

I think more than one person will observe a furious rotation when scriptures pin down indwelling sin and evil present.

Few will simply come forward and condemn their own precious sorry hides for what they are and what is in their flesh.

The flesh is vile, because of indwelling sin and evil present with us. Romans 7:17-21, Phil. 3:21. The SPIRIT is and will ALWAYS remain quite factually AGAINST our own flesh and contrary to our own flesh, because of indwelling sin and evil present with us. Gal. 5:17.

Now, take your medicine, like adults, and look upon your HIDE for what really is therein.

God is not fooled or mocked. God knows EXACTLY the conditions you and I and everyone else is IN.

There is no lying available in HIS EYES.

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:7-8

You still refuse to post a scripture because the scripture reveals the truth of what Paul said.

I don't buy your stories of how you are made sinless, no.

You want to claim that by walking in the Spirit, you are sinless, but in the next breath you say no one is making that claim.

So WHICH IS IT JLB???

Are you SINLESS when walking in the SPIRIT???

Another of your post's in the Bible Study with no scriptures.

Will ask you again JLB. Are you or I SINLESS when walking in the Spirit?

And you know better than to claim I don't post scripture. I post the scriptures you don't care to hear is all. So, in your response to the above question, which I EXPECT you to answer like a MAN, you are welcome to address 1 John 1:8 as well.
