Growth Understanding Baptism ?

You just do not get it !

Why did Jesus go to the Cross............. Not just for our sins...........But to make it easy for the generation of people
to understand....... He did it all ............!!! All ! We need to just believe and understand and do our best.
This is now the time for us............. and in the future things will be , different again.........

Romans.........6:

4

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Please read that carefully.......... How are we buried with him ? Please think !

And remember we are not Gentiles and follow Paul .............

And these following bersses are Past ............ Present and Future.............

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

You just do not get it !
No, you just don't get it.
You have a distorted understanding of what water baptism is. And from that erroneous understanding you have been led away into a false teaching that it is somehow a sin to get water baptized.

That was under the law........... Which we are not at this time!!!!!!!!!
Now, Since Jesus went to the cross , we now have it all.

How are you buried with Him if not buy faith ? dig a little and maybe you will understand it !

How are you buried with Him if not buy faith ?
That's not the part that's in question here.
That part doesn't now make water baptism a sin.

That was under the law........... Which we are not at this time!!!!!!!!!
See? You're the one who is lacking understanding.
Water baptism is not an issue about the law. But since you think it is you have fallen for a false teaching that says water baptism is a sin.

Now, Since Jesus went to the cross , we now have it all.
This hardly means we should not do water baptism, let alone make it out to be a sin. I cite your fundamental misunderstanding of water baptism as the hook by which you got caught in this false teaching.

You're fighting a false doctrine about water baptism with an equally false doctrine.

Again NO Water !

Eph. 4:
4
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

No Water............
Gal...........3
27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

ok let me explain this as to what i am looking for --where in scripture does it say you should not be baptized? note *** NO WATER is not a scripture or answer . we either go by jesus commands to baptize or we take away from or add to the word of God . SOLO SCRIPTURE only any thing out side that is just opinion :readbible:thumbsup

guess this means Grams is not a Baptist .:hug
We dont all have the believe exactly the same, on every point.. we can dis agree in love ya know.

i doubt baptist has anything to do with it. it appears as this is a dead end discussion . since there is no scripture to back her belief .i am through

Well..................... let me explain my up bringing ?
I was brought up a Catholic went up to the 6 th. grade. and had all the stuff done to me that the
church wanted...
at the age of 50 we got saved....
OK!
Why would I want to go back t all of that ?

Since the most important part was omitted ?
Romans
6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

And thus your problem, just as I said. You're defending against the Catholic Church's erroneous doctrine about works justification with your equally erroneous doctrine that we can ignore the command to get water baptized because we don't need it for justification.

I'm guessing you don't go around telling people they don't have to 'not murder' because justification is by faith, not works, right? I'm confident that you believe that a Christian is to obey that command, even though justification is by faith all by itself. Just because works can't justify a person doesn't mean we have been relieved of our obligation to obey Christ and can tell others that.

"show me your faith without the works,
and I will show you my faith by my works.”" (James 2:18 NASB bold italics mine)

thats understandable since baptism is part of salvation to them. Baptism has never and will never save anyone .the cross of Christ was payment for our sins. the Resurrection is where we get our power for eternal life . i have family who are catholic blinded by religion . baptism follows salvation . if a person is lost and gets baptized they are still lost. baptism is symbolic in nature it represent the old you going under to the watery Grave. the new you arises and you statement of faith has been made. me personally i dont like to baptize in a quick manner after they get saved. baptism should be explained to many think baptism saves them and some churches place more emphases on baptism than being saved. they record we baptized this many. why not say we had this many converted.

Why do so many not understand we need not be water Baptized ?

We are now all Gentiles and things have changed !

Jesus told His disciples to baptize "all nations". ( Mat 28:18-19)
The word "nations" specifically refers to Gentiles.
The fact that Jesus told His disciples to baptize requires that the believers undergo baptism.

hope that helps

5:
17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new

Gal. 2:
16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

20
I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Gal. 3:
23
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed

No one is paying attention .......... We are now following Paul and not the Apostils at this time............
