Understanding The Law Of Moses - With The Help Of The Prophets And The Apostles

Let’s go with this:

Let us make man in our image. This is the Father, the Word ( later to become Jesus, and the Spirir the Holy later revealed as breathing operating life.

An immune system before sin. Kidneys before sin(?), lungs before breathing,

Angels before nerves (? Messengers). Without the OT some of the facts would be missing.

Yes. I agree.
I also see Jesus all over the OT.

Learning what God desires from me (for me) is found more in the NT.
It shouldn't be a competition between the two.
Both are necessary.

The Old Testament is like the first half of the movie, the New Testament is the last half. Can't have on half without the other.
Which is what I about said
Except I would say you do not understand the first part of the movie till you see the second part of the movie where Jesus explained parables.

Or
After seeing the whole movie you can go back and forth explaining the other side is about.

Any of th listeners old enough to know the Paul Harvey (rest of the story. I kind of do it but intellectually I can not do the 1000 word essay on it.

Yes. I remember The Rest of the Story.
Brings back memories....
AND NOW YOU KNOW....The rest of the story.

The NT!

Each half would not make sense without the other half...
And here is the rub. You should not insist the new covenant people have to do the OT physical acts. And I am open to saying that different ways.
And we should not yell at each other about this.

Discuss yes. Use passion? Yes. Use anger and we become Elihu.

I don't think we're yelling at each other on this thread.
You want to see yelling....I have a couple of forums in mind.
But it's best that you stay here with your Christian family.
We may not agree on everything, but I know we love each other in Christ.

What do you mean by doing OT physical acts?
I don't believe I do this.

And now ladies and gentlemen you have a little taste of what created the different translations of the Bible.

We have to always remember we see through a glass darkly.

eddif

Of course, any movie you watch from start to finish.
And my wife tells me to shut up. We get to a point where I am splitting hairs. LOL and I am just getting started in th 5th scene.

That is an exaggeration. We do not have the same video interests.

The Circumcision party wanted to insist on the gentiles being circumcised and keeping the law of Moses.

We are discussing all this to help everyone get a personal grip on what is going on.

The circumcision party involved the Ceremonial Law.
That has been abolished.

Abraham obeyed God.
Is that good?
I like that you did not judge whether it was good or evil. That's the point. Does he act from his carnal considerations of good and evil, or does he listen to the Spirit of God. Therefore, God counted this act to Abram as righteousness.

God counts our faith as being right with Him.
Are you right with your mom or sibling or husband?

Do you still do good deeds for that person?
Or do you feel like it's not necessary?

What's your thinking on John 13:36?

Why did they wash?
John 3:25 kjv
25. Then there arose a question between someof John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

Other translations use washings .

Another thread?

Hebrews 11:19 kjv
19. Accounting that God was able to raise himup, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

I just take this scripture (which someone else already answered) as enough of an answer.

Over processed foods are often void of good nutrients. Over processed religious answers that void scripture are sometimes void of benefit.

Everyone can remind me of this if I do the same thing.

I really do not want to answer that in detail. There are Messianic Christians I might offend. I myself followed some dietary laws for a lot of years.

We grow we change. We try not to offend, but I fail at times.

EXACTLY!

However you cannot find any Biblical basis that now Christians are free to do whatever they want without any direction, and morality, any standard, or any commands. Jesus in Matthew 14 did say if you love me you will keep my commandments. How can we keep His commandments, when according to you, there are no commandments to keep?
Christians are led by the Holy Spirit. I did not say that Christians are not guided by anything.
By the way, what commandment of Law tells us that we must offer our son on the altar?
What's to guide us on our Christian life? The law comes directly from the Bible, and since according to you, the law is nullified, than does that mean that the Bible is nullified? The same verses your cherry picking to support heresy is coming from the same Bible that you're saying Jesus nullified. And then, since we have no Holiness to live by, who are you or me to tell each other who's wrong or right?

We're just like atheists, except we believe about a God, but like atheists have no law to abide by.
First of all, I did not claim that the law was nullified. I wrote that we are free from it because the law has already been fully fulfilled for us.
Secondly, you call a statement that you yourself came up with heresy.
And yet, do you acknowledge that the power of sin is the law, as written in Corinthians 15:56? Or is your mind rebelling against this statement?
