What is the gospel?

That is a standard reply from someone who has total ignorance of the hard work and study that goes into gaining degrees.
And Im talking about the doctrine and preaching that comes out of those degrees. I heard Charles Stanley tell his congregation this…(and you can probably find it on you tube.)
”I know some of you are not baptized and Im telling you that when you get to heaven you are going to regret that you were not baptized”.
Where in the NT is that ever taught? Please show me where anybody EVER even alluded to anything as idiotic as that. A well versed PhD should know that it was Jesus that said…He that believes (the gospel) AND is baptized shall be saved.
This specifically says that you wont be saved or in heaven unless you are baptized so where does a PhD get off preaching to people that they can get to heaven without being baptized?

No. But believing (obeying) the Gospel is how we are saved.

This is when we are baptized into Christ (born again) by the Spirit.
One is baptized “into Christ” through immersion in water. Rom 6:1-4. It has nothing to do with any kind of HS baptism.
Then we are baptized in water, and also we are baptized with the Holy Spirit.
there are only 2 examples of HS baptism in all of the NT. Acts 2 with the apostles and Acts 10 with Cornelius and his family and they were both for effect and not for any kind of salvation or born again process, and they both involved the miraculous. If you can show me any other examples feel free to give me the verse.
So, unless your HS baptism was demonstrated through the miraculous, you were not baptized with the HS. Ive never seen it today so if it happened to you then you are some kinda special. Congrats.
3 distinct and different baptizms with 3 distinct and different baptisers.

JLB
John the Baptist for the jews
HS for effect with both Jew in acts 2 and gentile in acts 10.
Great commission immersion in water for the remission of sins. Acts 2,10, 22:16
This is the one baptism spoken of by Paul in Eph 4.

That is your cynical reasoning which I reject.

Prove it. I used my reply to try and figure out your position. So far you are not disappointing as a well versed Phd. I presented Bible to you to support what I was saying that should be easy for a well versed Bible student to break down and show me where Im wrong.
I doubt if anyone can genuinely show you that you are wrong because I get a very strong idea that you think you are never wrong.

ive never seen it??? Is that your yardstick for anything? If so you have a very limited experience of God

Wow! Deep reply from a PhD. I asked you a basic Bible question….
At what point was Saul of tarsus Born Again? All I get is…..”im talking about you”? Thats it. Thats what Bible degrees get you now a days?
Do you have a problem with talking about you?

I notice a tone of resentment in your reply because you do not have a Ph.D.

So you think people will regret not being baptized when they get to heaven? What did the college teach you on that subject? I would like to think someone of higher learning would love to have a bible discussion. Even if its someone like me. You know what The Bible says…
Tit 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
This is definitely a command for those of higher learning.

Try me. You haven’t mentioned one doctrine, one passage or any position whatsoever. I do not accept peoples opinion on doctrinal matters. If you cant make an argument through book chapter and verse then no I will not accept it. Just like when C Stanley preaches that people will regret not being baptized when they get to heaven. He made that up! That teaching cannot be found anywhere in the NT so therefore HE IS WRONG. You have all the time you need to show me how he is right and I am wrong. But you too know its not in there so I doubt you even try to defend the man.

No. Ive never seen Jesus but I believe in him both in his life here on earth, his death, and his resurrection. And I believe his teaching and he nowhere taught that we are to be baptized with the HS. If so, I would think all of that study should be able to produce passage after passage showing where we are commanded to be baptized by the HS AND there should be example after example of all of these people in the early church being baptized by the HS. You have all the time you need to show it to me. The only two occurrences of HS baptism is in acts 2 and acts 10. Thats it!

Your cynicism is plain for all to see.

You dont want to answer another basic Bible question? What does that have to do with me being cynical? I dont trust people of higher learning in theology. This is through experience. we are told to try the spirits. This is what I am doing. I love it when people approach me with Bible doctrine questions. I dont run from them like you apparently are doing.

There is that terrible I again
What’s so terrible about it?
2 Tim 4:6,7 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
And that’s not me talking.

If you don't know I am not going to tell you. Suffice to say that someone who is so full of himself doesn't always see the obvious.

I know. You’re not going to tell me anything. No Bible, No teaching, No nothing!
Too bad you dont believe in what Peter said…
1 pet 3:15. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

So you believe you are on par with Paul?
