WHO IS THE RULER OF THE EARTH?

I read in a rather massive book on Protestant doctrine that Jesus saves us from sin satan self death and the world. Just…a random thought I had the other day…

He occult is back big time in pop culture. Maybe it’s part of the 70s retro thing? At any rate without Jesus we would all still be on satans side of things. Driven by self and worldly morality houses built on sand. So honestly? I think a lot of occult material is just a concentrated version of the way the world usually works.

What do you think this says?
Matthew 10:28
Fear God, don’t fear man. The worst any man can do is kill your physical body, so why should we fear evil man, when, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2Cor 5:8).

We need to fear the one who is able to take both body and soul and cast it into hell, and that is God. The cults and false teachers along with the wicked need to turn to the true God, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. His name on earth is Jesus.

That all depends on ones theology. I believe that satan and his demons influence (rule?) unbelievers and keep them blind. I also believe the demon-possessed are ruled by satan's demons.

Ultimately it is the Lord who orchestrates everything to its end for His purpose and glory.

I know that I do not attribute any of my sin to satan, but to my fallen flesh. I think to many Christians blame satan for their sins to avoid personal responsibility. But hey, Oh wretched man that I am.

Grace and peace to you.

Accepted.
I do think the evil one is behind everything bad, in one way or another.
For instance, lung sicknesses might be caused by smoking or drinking.
But behind the smoking and drinking is the moral sin of not taking care of our body.

...and of course our relationship with God. :)

I agree!!

Satan has his own trinity—the devil, the beast, and the false prophet (Revelation 16:13). He has his own church, “a synagogue of Satan” (Revelation 2:9). He has his own ministers, “ministers of Satan” (2 Corinthians 11:4-5). He has formulated his own system of theology “doctrines of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1). He has established his own sacrificial system; “The Gentiles...sacrifice to demons” (1 Corinthians 10:20). He has his own communion service, “the cup of demons...and the table of demons” (1 Corinthians 10:21). His ministers proclaim his own gospel, “a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you” (Galatians 1:7-8). He has his own throne (Revelation 13:2) and his own worshipers (Revelation 13:4). So he has developed a thorough imitation of Christianity, viewed as a system of religion. In his role as the imitator of God, he inspires false christs, self-constituted messiahs (Matthew 24:4-5).

He employs false teachers who are specialists in his “theology,” to bring in “destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them” (2 Peter 2:1). They are adept at mixing truth and error in such proportions as to make error palatable. They carry on their teaching surreptitiously and often anonymously. He sends out false prophets. “And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many” (Matthew 24:11). He introduces false brethren into the church, who “had sneaked in to spy out our liberty...in order to bring us into bondage” (Galatians 2:4). He sponsors false apostles who imitate the true (2 Corinthians 11:13).

From this we see that Satan imitates everything that is of God as he being the god of this world in his ruling power. He needs not God's permission to try and destroy those who are Christ own as no one can snatch them out of His hand. John 10:27-30.

Plenty of Christians enjoy that large fellowship meal too much and are obese.

Plenty of illnesses are simply avoidable by being in proper weight.

Diabetes is the easiest

Churches seem to be reaching the end stage of decline and decay. I think believers will find each other by His will but…

So much fraud and embezzlement and sexual immorality and greed and…

Why bother? That’s no different from the outside world.

And the ministers of Satan frequent the forums with their false teaching, and we think we can persuade them otherwise. There isn't a chance in hell of doing that.

Satan can get permission to try and destroy anyone if people give him that permission. This is done by engaging in sin, that is, the same rebellion that Satan did. He thereby has something in that person and permission to continue. This is broken by repentance and using the weapons of our warfare.

And regarding John 10:27-30, no one can snatch anyone out of His hand but anyone in his hand can leave His hand. The door is open to enter and to leave. That was off topic but it ought to be addressed as that is a false doctrine that has born very bad fruit in Christians. (Tell someone that they can never lose something and they don't take care of it.)

There is a certain blindness in those who have embraced a comforting false doctrine born in the pits of hell. It is rather amazing and sometimes only a spiritual blindness can explain it. They have scripture right in front of them saying clearly what they deny and they do not see it. I have also found that all false doctrine comforts something sinful in us.

I like the way that Paul expressed this problem. He wrote:

2 Timothy 2:26 NLT - "Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants."

The way to be released from Satan's captivity is by receiving the Spiritual Circumcision of Christ. Without this Holy Procedure, there is no hope for Eternal Life with the Father, Son, and Spirit in Heaven.

I agree. The Catholic Church teaches that some people with such intense blindness…which I think the church explains in psychological terms…can still go to Heaven.

As I said, that metaphor has no meaning for most people. It communicates nothing at all.
