Thats a fasle teaching. A person is born again by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Help us to understand where you are coming from with this.

Could you show us some examples of Jesus or the Apostles preaching this?

What we are saying is -

having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever...

I believe this scripture.

I believe this scripture says -

having been born again through hearing and obeying the Gospel message [word] from God.

Examples of The Gospel message is -

Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Mark 1:14-15

So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Acts 16:31

"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Why would this be considered false teaching?

I would not go so far as to say farouk is wrong on his assertion

I would and did. Repentance and Faith are results of being begotten again by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1 Pet 1:3

I see where savedbygrace57 is coming from. It's all a work of God in its different aspects.

There is also human responsibility, but this truth is in harmony with Divine sovereignty.

There is no human responsibility in being begotten again by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead ! So obviously you do not see where I am coming from !

Thats pure heresy!

By your false teaching you take away any action on the person to turn away from Satan and confess Jesus as Lord.

A person must repent and believe the Gospel to be Born Again!

savedbygrace57:

Well, the Lord Jesus said: 'Repent ye, and believe the Gospel'. So there is human responsibility as well as Divine sovereignty.

Being born again brings repentnace, Christ himself turns His people away from Iniquitie by blessing them with being born again by His resurrection 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

and Acts 3:23

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

For about the 5th time now, the scripture you keep using "1 Pet 1:3" has NOTHING to do with being born again, you keep taking this scripture out of context... what part is it that you cannot see? Peter is talking about the disciples and their loss of faith (including Peter himself) when Christ died!!!

They had already been "begotten" once, then lost faith, then on his resurrection their faith was rejuvenated... "begotten again"...

I'm sorry, but to make your point you need to try and find another verse!

How about we make some subtitle changes....

heresy :: because some one does not agree with us does not mean they are heretics

wrong :: it does not necessarily hold that one person is wrong when 2 dont agree

ignore :: Stating one is to be ignored is a violation of the spirit of the ToS

NOTHING to do with being born again,

Absolutely False. 1 pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The word begotten is the greek word
anagennaō and it means:

to produce again, be born again, born anew

2) metaph. to have one's mind changed so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God

Okay, you underline "begotten us again" with emphasis, they had a change of mind (see your metaphor) and what changed? read the next 4 words "unto a lively hope", and what was the hope? that Jesus would redeem Israel... they always had hoped he was the one to redeem Israel and once he died, they lost that hope, but "by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," their minds were changed (see your metaphor) their "hope" was brought "back" (note in the passage the word "again"), repeat... their "hope" was brought "back" or in other words their "hope" lives a new life (read your metaphor) or their hope is born again (read your Thayer's definition)...

This scripture has nothing to do with "born again" in the sense of salvation!

What does the quote of scripture say ? Does it say anything about faith ? Here it is again 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

We have a Lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Paul says the same -

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13

Paul was encouraging the believers about the resurrection!

Paul wrote of this hope in the resurrection to the church at Corinth -

17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. 1 Corinthians 15:17-19

Our hope is in the resurrection of Christ from the dead!

Now faith is the substance of THINGS HOPED FOR and the evidence of things not seen!

Right an effect of being born again by the Resurrection of Christ from the dead, but the hope was the effect and not the cause of being born again !

This is written to believers who are already born again, their hope is in the resurrection!

A person is born again by believing the gospel, the incorruptible word.

Are you saying someone can be born again who has not heard the gospel?
