Endure

Yes, no need to wait until the tribulation.
The baptism with the Holy Spirit is available to those who ask... to those who obey;
to those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. JLB

Scripture says "those who wait upon the Lord ..........."
You say "no need to wait"

I believe scripture over you. Have a nice day.

Has the Day of Pentecost come, or are we still waiting?

At some point the result of waiting is to receive the promise.

The promise has come.

The Apostles were indeed instructed by the Lord to wait for the promise of the Father, however the day did come, and therefore has indeed come, for those who believe, to receive what was promised.

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,”He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Acts 1:4-5

  • wait for the Promise of the Father,

  • you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

Neither of you have what I (and now doubt many others around the world)
am waiting on.

You evidently have all the power you think a Christian can have.
I don't think you do. I'm sure you don't.

If you had the power I'm waiting on,
then you would now be doing such as Jesus did AFTER He was empowered.
And as the Disciple-Apostles did AFTER they were empowered.

I mean routinely doing miracles of such as healing and rejuvenation.

However, if you are positive you cannot be given more ... well, so be it.

"but those who wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
and they shall walk and not faint."

You are saying Isaiah 40:31 is false. Well, I'm confident it is true.

First of all Jesus never went about healing, casting out demons or raising people from the dead. It was people who came to Him that were healed, demons being cast out and those who rose from the dead, because they saw the miricles Jesus did, but not knowing who He truly was. For many it was their faith in God and also prayers of others as even prayer has empowerment.

There were times when Jesus had to send the crowds away in order to teach His disciples, Matthew 4:23-25; 5:1; 8:18; 15:39; Luke 8:40-56.

Jesus whole ministry was about seeking and saving the lost as He taught God's grace and forgiveness.

I can't speak for JLB but through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit through me and in me as a vessal God works through has healed the sick, cast out demons and raised those who were breathing their last breath. It is only those who have faith that accept their healing and are healed. It's those of faith that pray and ask for prayer over those who are demon possessed and those who have died that Christ will bring back to life.

James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

This verse has nothing to do with waiting for empowerment. It says we wait on the Lord who renews our strength so in times of enduring we will run and not be weary, we will walk in the Holy Spirit and not fall away from faith.

Again, what are you waiting on as now is the day of the Lord and we His disciples.

Many people, including Christians, here in America have no clue what it means to endure trials and tribulations, even to death, unless they have been faced with them. Jesus has already taught us how to endure as our empowerment is in the power of the Lord and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the weapons of warfare found in Ephesians 6:10-17.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The cross before us, the world behind us as we are no longer of this world as we have been risen with Christ and seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, Colossians 3:1-4.

The cross before us, the world behind us as we are no longer of this world as we have been risen with Christ

Can you please explain how the cross is yet before us? If you have been risen with Christ, then shouldn't the cross be behind you? Now if one has yet to be crucified with Christ, then perhaps the cross remains before them.

Has the Day of Pentecost come, or are we still waiting ? JLB

Their day of Pentecost empowerment came.
Christians (at least some of us) are waiting for OUR day of Pentecost empowerment.

Who does “they” refer to?

The baptism with the Holy Spirit is for all those who believe, not just for those who were in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

  • For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:39

Believers continued to receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit, many years after that day.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.
Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
Acts 10:44-47

This was some 10 years after the day of Pentecost.

And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”
So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Acts 19:1-6

The events of Acts 19 took place around AD 53.

In addition, Jesus said of all those who believe -

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:15-18

The power to cast out devils, and heal the sick is promised to those who believe; to those who obey.

And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:32

The cross before us just means a reflection of what Christ has done for us that we also have crucified this flesh and and now walk in the Spirit seeking those things from above as it is written in Colossians 3:1-4.

Well, I think He did.
AFTER his Matt 3 revealed day of empowerment.

You have misunderstood what I said apparently. Yes, Jesus did all of that, but what was more important is He being the word of God come in the form of man sent down to earth to seek and save the lost.

John 1:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

AFTER his Matt 3 revealed day of empowerment.

You have misunderstood what I said apparently. Yes, Jesus did all of that, but

The statement that you made, "Jesus never went about healing" seemed pretty straight forward to me. If you feel you were misunderstood, then perhaps you could choose your words more wisely so as to be more clear. First you say he didn't, now you say he did. Why the need to qualify it with a BUT?

In giving sight to the blind and in judgement, do you now have eyes that you should see? Or has He made you as one who is blind?

This does not make sense to me. If the cross is before us, then how can it be a reflection? And if it be a reflection, is it not a reflection upon the things of the flesh?

If you go back to post #50 the "but" is explained as in what is more important, that Jesus should only heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead, or that He was sent to earth in the form of man to seek and save the lost.

Hi Who Me and welcome to CF :wave2

You are right as many pass over that verse as they imagine their own timeline in their mind and get paid big bucks for it as they speculate the return of Christ. It is also made very clear in Matthew 24:29-31 what we are to look for as we prepare ourselves ahead of time to be gathered to Him.

What is clear is we are to live for Jesus in expectation of his return.
The expectation is hard.

Amen. Jesus is coming again.

However, the Lord will not come as a thief in the night for the Church, because He left us the signs of His coming.

So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Matthew 24:33

I strongly suspect that Jesus's coming will catch us all with our pants down, metaphoricaly speaking.

In giving sight to the blind and in judgement, do you now have eyes that you should see? Or has He made you as one who is blind?

I once was Spiritually blind and now I have had my Spiritual eyes opened as I have seen the Spirit of the Lord who has opened my blind eyes in knowing it was Christ the Lord and not just a man. Only Jesus can open the eyes of a blind man in all of God's righteous judgement given to Him.

John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. 38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. 39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. 40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. Not if we are watching for His coming as we need to be, but yet continuing in the works of the Lord.

Matthew 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

The Lord has closed my eyes to sin, that I might look upon my sin.

You say that your eyes have been opened, but then go on to post the scripture where Jesus if you say your eyes are opened, then your sin remains. Adam disobeyed and ate the fruit of knowledge, his eyes too were opened.

Those who see walk by sight. Those who have been made blind walk according to faith. Who is blind but my servant? And deaf as my messenger that I sent?
