God's Great Free Gift of Salvation for Everyone

I was speaking to electedbyhim

He can't seem to find the Covenant of Peace and the Covenant of Grace.
Perhaps you can?

Please remember that the source cannot be reformed, since they do not adhere to what regular, mainline Christians adhere to.

Thanks.
I am with Iconoclast, there is no learning with you, just a condescending, contentious attitude. Perhaps it is because you have a title on this forum. You are not teachable in anyway.

You claim to know Reformed doctrine and when you post what you think you know, many call you out on it and you do not like that. You are not knowledgeable in Reformed or Calvinistic teachings and we have pointed that out to you.

I have asked you several times to go into my elected thread and you will not.

I cannot trust what you believe or claim to know. I cannot take anyone seriously who believes Mary is sinless when the Bible does not even teach that.

Grace and peace to you.

I don't have any "title".
You can not post to me.
That's fine.

However, you DO constantly break the rules.

Are you TEACHABLE E?

I don't intend to be taught by persons that don't even understand what they say they believe.

Is this the thread where you advised all not to get personal?
(post 1027)

The above is pretty personal.

Calvinist believe that scripture contradicts scripture. They have to believe that in an attempt to prove that God is a Calvinist.

You cannot believe that, "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son" John 3:16. And then believe that God predestinates people to hell for no reason other than they were born after Adam, Ephesians 1:4-11.

What we have is two very conflicting views of the character and the nature of God. This is really what this article is about. Is God a mean heartless God that delights in throwing people into hell? Or is he longsuffering, not willing that any should perish? 2 Peter 3:9.

All through the Old Testament and into the New Testament the Bible teaches that salvation is by grace through faith. There is such a thing as saving faith. It is a faith that believes God is just, merciful and righteous. All that believe this have eternal life. To believe otherwise will lead to judgment and condemnation.

John 3:16 applies ONLY to those that are already saved in Calvinist theology.
That WHOEVER....
The whoever are the saved....
NOT those that would want to be saved.

It's a really convoluted way of understanding God and His attributes.

What amuses me is that I'm told that I don't understand calvinism.
I wonder if calvinists understand calvinism....
They either don't
or
They're not being honest.
It's one or the other.

And, while I'm here, let me also say that there's very little difference between a moderate calvinist and a high calvinist. It's really more in attitude than in doctrine...so I don't see much difference.

Calvinism is a declaration that God is an unjust, unmerciful, heartless tyrant that cannot be trusted. No one will see heaven that believes in Calvinism.

This strongly suggests that you do not understand Calvinism and that what you think you know comes from other uninformed non-Calvinists. Do not again insinuate that Calvinists are not Christians simply because you disagree with some of their understanding of Scripture. I can all but guarantee that you have much more in agreement with them than disagreement. The strongest and most robust theology I've come across happens to be from reformed theologians, not that I agree with all of it but I respect it.

Again, do not makes things personal. There seems to be a fair bit of condescension and ridicule in this thread which are unbecoming of Christians, especially when speaking to other Christians. Please address points and arguments, not the person.

Thank you for clarifying this point especially when you agree in part, and do not agree with certain things.
We can learn and grow as Iron Sharpens Iron.

You know, I've often said that our doctrine will not save us, but only Christ and our belief in Him and our obedience to Him. (I know, you don't agree about the obedience part).

But Calvinism is so extreme that I do wonder if it really will cause some to become lost.
I just don't know.

I do not fully agree with either Reformed or Arminian theology. I see merits in both and problems in both, but still, the majority of the most robust and deep theology I've seen is on the Reformed side.

I must object to any doctrine or religion that suggest that my God is an unjust unmerciful tyrant, which Calvinism does. I must also object to any doctrine or religion that suggest that my savior Jesus Christ failed to atone for the sins of the whole world and is a failure, which Calvinism does. I probably should not be on this forum.

I understand calvinism pretty darn well Free.
And I'm telling you that the God they worship has no love in Him,
no mercy and no justice.

If you wish, we can go through each point separately.

The reformed are following a different gospel.

Oh. Well, I agree with the robust part.
I don't know exactly why it is,,,but the reformed do take center stage.
This is why some younger persons like it...it SEEMS to explain everything.
Also, some churches teach calvinism without actually calling it that and it confuses some persons
so that they don't even know that what they're stating is reformed.

What are the merits of the reformed faith?

I just don't know.
We are saved and justified by faith in Christ and his Gospel. Calvinism is anti-Gospel and anti-Christ.
