I don't know about the car business but people of many countries have had racist and or nationalistic hatred. The Japanese were cruel to the Chinese during WWII way beyond military necessity. They aren't too keen on the Koreans either.

White being the color they choose.I'm,very,much familiar with ww2 history .I live near old bases ,work takes to that daily .airport is one.of course the japs were racist to the other Asians .Korean children are in my family .I rag Asians all the time.
