My friend

the true church would teach the teaching of God.; not the teachings of men.

Your listening to men, you put an organization above the word of God.. The jews made the same mistake so you should heed the example of their mistake

royal priesthood is different from the order melchisedec?
heb 7:17
and a high priest is in authority over other priests of the same order who have the same functions!

Christ's priesthood is plural!

so i would worry about that first. before you try to attack others and being lost

no i don't agree

in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

they believed on Paul's authority as apostle and were not challenging or disputing with Him!

they certainly had no fundentalist concept of "scripture alone"!

thks
You do not test someone words. if you trust them completely.

You should do what they did

If they share the word.

should you I or anyone else put our eternity in the hands of men?

If you want to feel free. But eternity is a long time to risk getting it wrong

sir

The jews were the church of the OT. they held everything and were gods representatives.

they used the same argument you are using.

They took this to their deaths and many of them will regret doing this.

You want to talk to me about the word. feel free

You want to try to force a church at me. when they do not even follow the word.. then we really have nothing to say

Like I have told many a person. if an organization, church, pastor or whoever tells you to listen to them only. That is a sign to rin, because they have something to hide.

Gods true church does not have to focus on itself. it would focus on God and those truly seeking God will find them

well its not the catholic church..

Again, If they were the true church they would teach the words of Christ. not a paganized form of the word. and again, they would not need to defend themselves or tell people to listen to them only.

Again, that should be a red flag for anyone listening.

I do not trust any men.

I trust the men of the NT as given by their words inspired by God

just seeking biblical faith

All Christians are to be of one mind, one heart, one spirit:

Acts 2:46
Romans 12:16
Romans 15:6
2 cor 13:11
Eph 4:1
Phil 1:27
Phil 2:2
1 Peter 3:8
Jude 1:3

Philippians 1:27
Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

only one church! Jn 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

The giving of the Spirit was a private experience during the old covenant. Kings, priests, and prophets in particular were privy to this experience. And, IMO, so were every other genuinely believing person before the Day of Pentecost. The sending of the Spirit in power became a public, revealed truth with the resurrection of Christ.
I think what made the New Covenant "Baptism of the Spirit" a more "public event" was not that spiritual life in the believer was any different in terms of God's relationship with men or with respect to exporting God's character into men. Rather, it was the fact that the gift of the Spirit came with a newly acquired impartation of Eternal Life legally, such that men could not be viewed not merely as "servants," but much more, as "sons and daughters."

Not to be omitted from this is the empowerment that came with becoming sons and daughters, that we be enabled to witness to Christ, not just as a healer or miracle worker, but much more, as the imparter of all that goes with becoming sons and daughters and the recipients of Eternal Life. That is, in the New Covenant, the Spirit becomes a power to witness to all that Christ represents, as the giver of Eternal Life to men, the forgiveness of sins, as well as the fruits of the Spirit, displaying the character of Christ in our lives.

I would also say that the Spirit empowers men to use Christ's own authority to perform and accomplish God's purpose on earth through the Church. It's power to witness to Christ, and power to work with Christ.

In my view, John the Baptist made this particular "Baptism of the Spirit" supremely more important than Water Baptism, something that he marginalized in his own ministry when he refused to baptize Jesus. However, Jesus supported Water Baptism as a satisfactory "initiation ceremony" into the Christian faith by those who had not lived by it previously.

Obviously, this would've excluded Jesus' Disciples themselves at that time, who were in fact walking with Christ, needing to repent only of the more minor aspects of our sin-infected life, including unloving behavior, as opposed to crimes, immorality, theft, and murder. Jesus told Peter he didn't need his "whole body" washed, but only his "feet" at one point.

That does not mean he wanted to tell them different doctrines or different truths.

how can we be of one mind when one of us follows a church that calls itself from God.

and another group studies the word. to shew themselves approved. and sees most of what that church teaches is not even found in the word. or contradicts it?

It will teach the word of God

want to know what that church us, Study to show yourself approved.

Don't blindly follow some church

It's interesting to note that all of the Epistles are written TO the church----they are not FROM the church. The Word of God is the FINAL AUTHORITY, not TRADITION.
scripture is tradition!
2 thes 2:15
and the apostles were taught by Christ in person three years (tradition)

acts 8:30 the eunuch had scripture God sent an apostle to teach him (tradition)
btw how did the eunuch know about baptism?

your doctrine of "sola scriptura" is of the tradition of men being invented by the excommunicated heretic wicliffe! so you can't believe it!

where does scripture say we have a right to decide what is truth?

where does scripture say we have a right to decide doctrine?

where does scripture say we have a right to decide what constitutes the faith of Christians?

where does scripture say that scripture is the only authority?

where does scripture say that scripture is the only infallible authority?

where does scripture say that scripture is the ultimate authority?
