This is very true. He was under house arrest for 2 years in which he was allowed to have visitors to counsel and was under military guard. See Acts 28.

Oh, I totally agree with you. The interview was awful. But I saw a two hour special with him on TBN and in my spirit, I detected sincerity. Like I have said, he does nothing for me, but in that special, I saw that he was a real believer, if not misdirected. I could sense it in my spirit. He has also repented about the things he said in that interview. And I totally agree, God will make your dreams come true, but just like you said, it must line up with God's Word. God also PUTS dreams in our hearts for His special purpose.

What we have to realize, is that the man is a fraud. His mega church is just one poor example. Multitudes followed Jesus, but the mulititudes were not his disciples. They were just followers.

Disciples are chosen. Men of God are chosen by God. They are not self appointed, as such is the case whith Joel. Could Joel be a follower ? Sure. But that is not the issue here !

He presents himself as a man of God, a called out and chosen anointed man of God. And his whole ministry is a falsehood. What he preaches is false, and what he stands for is false. All he tries to do is make people feel good. He can be as sincere as he wants. Sincerity is not a gaurantee of truth.

His ministry is based upon telling people falsehoods about God. He tells them that God will bless them and that they should believe him, instead of the Word of God and the promises of God. Have you ever heard him tell his audience that they should be content with just food and raiment ?

The Word of God tells us that we should work with our hands, the things that are good, so that we can give to those who have need. This does not mean to give to him or some other tv evangilist. The Word also tells us that we are ambassadors for Christ, we the members of the church. Those tv evangilists think that they are ambassadors for Christ .

And as it is true, that an evangilist is suppose to be a minister of the gospel of Christ. And evangilist travels. An evangilist is not one who sits in his mega church and teaches over television. Jesus Christ was a hands on and in person kinda guy. And he meant for his ministers , such as apostles and prophets and teachers and evangilists to be the same.

Just like here on the internet. It is a great way of sharing with others. But there is no true ministering going on, other than typed words on a screen. The same is true with television. Anything can be fabricated on TV. They will only show you what they want you to see , or hear. And everything is so planned out . In a real life setting, nothing should be planned out. Everything has to flow naturally. If God is working in you right there and then. Then ministering can become evident. And God can work in you as you speak. Which would not be all planned out and rehearsed.

Also television is very expensive. Lots of money goes into broadcasting. And where do you think the money comes from ? An oil well ? A diamond field ? Think again.

There are COUNTLESS numbers of people who have been saved through Christian Television. I mean MILLIONS. They are not all frauds.

Yes, television is expensive and yes, the money comes from the church members or partners of ministries. I wouldn't say Joel Osteen is doing a great work in his church, but I believe people are getting born again, people are getting saved there, even if they are hearing extremely weak and misguided teaching. God can anoint anyone at any time to get a message across. He has spoken through a donkey, surely he can speak through Joel Osteen, LOL!

God actually anointed the meow of my cat once!!! I was drifting away from God and was looking at a Native American spirituality book and liking it (and I believe salvation can be lost, so this was bad news). Well, my petite little black cat Moriah, whom I had rescued from a 7-11 at a young and who had had to hunt for her food, etc. was sitting on the back of the couch about two feet from my face. Well, there is something special about this little cat, a purity that I cannot describe, probably because of her birth in the wild. But I was looking at this book and digging it and then I looked over at Moriah and she just gave me this small little innocent meow. Man, it hit me like a ton of bricks!!! INSTANTLY, I bowed my face before God and repented. I knew no one could create such a pure and beautiful creature but the Holy God of the bible and I got off the couch and went straight to church.

God uses her in serious warfare, we met at an open Heavens conference and I sense in you much anointing for creation. There No doubt in my Spirit that you are or would be a great intercessor for the Lord.

And even maybe a prayer warrior. If you haven't yet, check out xpmedia with Paricia King, she's a real angel who gathers the elect.

Women in this Day are making up some of the greatest warriors in God's end time army for sure. Because of purity we see in them. Remember it was Eve who called the ennemy a deceiver, so many sisters have that amazing anointing to warfare.

Thank you Marc Your post blessed me greatly <3. Yes, I have considered both ministries and am still seeking the Lord about His purpose for my life. I am already an intercessor, although I don't do it as much as I would like to (always gotta fight the flesh!) but I am on the Intercessory team at my church and am considering becoming one of Benny Hinn's prayer warriors (maybe this is confirmation?) because my church only sends an email or two a day to intercede for. And of course I intercede for my lost loved ones, for my church, the Body of Christ, the poor, etc. But my church teaches that EVERY believer has a ministry of intercession, and I agree. And I have definitely been active in spiritual warfare at different times. Whether it be praising God at the top of my voice or telling Satan he is under my feet and to take his hands off God's property. Consistency in my walk with the Lord is something I am still very much working on. In fact, I think I need to do some warring today because satan is trying to steal my revelation and he's just gonna have to bow his knee to the Name of Jesus!!!

And I have definitely considered deliverance also. I think I am still in the process of being delivered from some things and once I have the victory, I beliieve I may well be active in that ministry as well.

I will definitely check more into Patricia King, I think I may have seen her on God TV and I liked her, so I will check more into it.

I have been saved for 5 years. Still young, but not a baby. I am re-posting this from another post just for you:

Everyone thinks Benny Hinn is a charlatan too. The man has a hospital in India where hundreds of thousands of people get free, state of the art medical care because of the money he gives from his ministry. It must cost him MILLIONS for a hospital like that to operate. Now would a charlatan do such a thing?

His ministry feeds hundreds of thousands of starving children everyday. Would a charlatan do that?

He is spending millions right now to renovate a large orphanage in Central America. Would a charlatan do that?

And when Senator Grassley called on him to cough up his financials, he was found to be completely legit. It was found that 89% of the money he takes in goes straight into outreaches and ministries. He has an independent firm that audits his ministry and determines his salary. He is a good man!!! And yet everyone demonizes him because they don't believe in healing or miracles.

When are we gonna wake up? Do your homework before you go demonizing ministers and miracles! I don't mean to sound wrong, but half of you don't even know what you are talking about!!! You judge a man because it looks wrong to you and you know NOTHING about him!

I'm sorry, its just very frustrating to me. The devil has blinded so many eyes to the truth so that the Body of Christ would not operate in the power it should be operating in. Did Mark 16 not say "These signs shall follow ALL who believe?" He said we would speak with new tongues and that we would lay hands on the sick and they would recover. Well looky there, its BIBLICAL!

So the man stays in lavish hotels. So what? That man works harder than any man of God I know. He is in a different country 2 or 3 times a month holding crusades ALL YEAR LONG and does daily tv broadcasts! I don't find it offensive if he stays in a nice hotel. He deserves it, he needs a way to rest and refresh, and I've been in nice hotels, it is so much easier to relax there. With the kind of stress he's under, Best Western just isn't going to do it.

many churches work like this. i worked for a church as a janitor. i will never do that again. oh the politics. the bickering over this or that. the boards, etc.

Nope, I don't begrudge him for it a bit. That man works HARD. Harder than any congressman could ever dream of. And how do you know he uses the ministry's money? Maybe he pays for it himself. Either way, I don't begrudge him. His schedule is positively GRUELING and he has led millions to the Lord. Let the man have a nice hotel room. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. He spends millions and millions and millions on the poor and needy, its not like he's just treating himself to the best and leaving the poor in the dirt.

For God's sake the man runs a HOSPITAL where state of the art medical treatment is given to the poor at NO COST and they treat hundreds of thousands of patients a year! It costs his ministry MILLIONS! Can you not respect that? You really think he's a poor steward just because he stays in luxury hotel rooms? Give the guy a break!

no,was the jesus like that, and he did far greater miracles. he could have easily lived lavishly, but he was humble and choose be on the common level.he came to serve not be served. that ought to show you what we should be.

paul wasn't a burden on any of the churches he visited, in fact he worked rather then take their money.he did that as example as he said that he didnt have to. he didnt want others to speak evil of him.

i have no problems with my pastor having things, but if he had a million dollar house (while the church paid for it)while the poor were there in the chruch and in need. i will have issues.
