Man is Evil

Man certainly does have his own predilections! Man is evil also, but Satan is a real entity, and is an enemy of God and His people.
I'm not saying Satan is not a real entity, but just trying to clothe him with a persona that we as humans might understand. Much of what we know about Satan from the Bible are in fact descriptions of worldly subjects that are manifesting Satan's characteristics.

There are plenty of references to Satan as an actual entity with a personality.

A NOTE TO ALABASTER'

There are not a lot of references about satan you just made that up as a big fat claim without backing it with scripture.
I would challenge you to a bible study on satan however there must be some ground rules
for logical reasoning not jumping all over making big fat claims.

The book of beginings is the logical place to start.

In Genesis there is no mention of the word satan!!

Do you agree or disagree?

uh the satan aka the devil is mentioned in the book of genesis.

and the serpent said unto the woman..

and the books of chronicles mention that name, and isaih and zechariah and others.

We have all the references we need, thanks. He isn't worthy of too much note, now, is he?

In Genesis, Satan is referred to as the serpent.

Perhaps you Deavon have never heard of mans inhumanity to man.

It is possible you have never heard of the Dark Ages when they burned men at the stake torturing in God's name.

I suppose you were not told that evil rules this world as we see the history of mankind one of wars, murder , death violence, cruelty, ready to be burned up at ARMAGEDDON at the Judgment Of Christ.

Wheather you believe in JUdgment or not God does not care.

Nuclear war is being prepared before your eyes to burn the earth with fire and Judgment because man is constantly evil before The LORD YHWH !!

Please study the OT it is full of future events.

Is this scary imagery supposed to be convincing? :shrug

Regardless, I stand by what I say. I would gladly talk things over with god if god had enough care for me to meet me where I am. I have no use of how the church tells people that they are "communicating with god". I stand ready for a Q&A. . . . just as soon as he gives me the word. :bounceball

God doesn't lack any ability to conquer. He has made us more than conquerors. If one doesn't know Him or know who he is in Christ, then he is a sitting duck for trouble.

The greatest trouble [that god was unable to help me with] in my life was when I WAS a sincere and faithful christian. A chance for god to prove his justice was met with a mighty . . . silence. The person in the wrong . . . rewarded. The person in the right . . . forgotten. Yes, I have been witness to "man's evil". . . . . but what god did was actually worse.

God has already taken the first move to do it all for you--while you and I were still doing our dastardly worst, He loved us enough to become a man and suffer a horrific, torturous death nailed to a wooden cross, bleeding and suffocating to death, bearing our sins and diseases so we won't have to. All you must do is believe it and respond in faith.

What other hoops do you have for Him to jump through that are more important than that?

Romans 5:8
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

That is a false belief, because you are misrepresenting God.

Faithlessness and impatience and lack of full trust is your problem. I have been wronged many times, but it only serves to teach me patience and to listen to Him when He reminds me in Romans 12:19...

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,
“I will take revenge;
I will pay them back,â€
says the Lord.

Did you ever ask him about it? I know you're going to say 'yes' but I can spot a lie when I see it.

When God promised abrahem a son, and then left him, to get older, and older, and older, was God at fault?

When joseph was left in prison. Unjustly accused. Was God wrong?

Job? King David.

Your attitude stinks.

And as regards to the OP - if man was born evil, then jesus christ would have been, because he was born a man.

You cannot extrapolate that. Jesus was born sinless.

He was born a man. He performed his miracles through the power of the holy spirit just like us.

If he wasn't a man then the whole story is a farce. Jesus was God who came to earth and lived life as a human being.

Are babys sinners? What sin? I hadn't noticed. Without sin it's impossible to be evil. And if sin comes generationally, then jesus would have been tainted through mary.

On a few of these stories, . . . yes, god was less than stellar, given you actually read the stories that you cited here and actually pick out why. Don't remember them as your sunday school teacher told them to you, by the way.

And to answer your question, . . . yes, I asked for 6 months, . . . as did the church I was going to, each Wednesday night prayer service, Sundays, and whoever was praying during the week [including me]. It didn't end up "well" [definitely using quotes for that word] like it supposedly did for your bible characters. Wrong was left unpunished and actually blessed greatly. Right was punished and left with nothing. One human held the power. One person did the conquering. Heaven was silent. The comforter never came.

This is a story in a book. It may be the hallmark of a religion, but reading about it in a book is not the same as having a real conversation with me. There is nothing wrong for Jesus to come and talk to me. He did it for many others, irregardless of "whether or not it would affect their faith".

Jesus was fully man and fully God. He is one of a kind and came with a purpose. He never sinned--ever. He was and is perfect.

Babies are not considered sinless, but they are not responsible for sin until they have the intelligence to understand what sin is and that they are guilty of it. Therefore, all of us are born with the taint of evil on us.

Jesus was not tainted by Mary simply because He didn't carry her blood.

So, you will hold court for God if He should come to you?

He is right there! Listen, and stop judging Him as if He were beneath you.
Open up your Bible and read until He speaks---and He will if you ask Him to.

Acts 10:34
Now I am certain that God treats all people alike.

*disclaimer - I'm not made at anyone, nor their theology.

I cannot conclude that the words written in canon ARE what it claims, . . .being "the words of a god".

Long ago, when I was having issues with my religion, I was told by my pastors to "read the bible" to find what god wanted to say to me. I did, . . . and that began my eventual deconversion. So, perhaps I DID hear from god and either completely misunderstood what was being said, or he is exactly as described IN the stories, . . . and I cannot abide with such actions.

Never the less, text written thousands of years ago. . . do not equate to a conversation in the here and now. No more than me reading quote from Abraham Lincoln means that we are buds.
