Yes,the rapture is imminent.Nothing else needs to happen for Jesus Christ to meet us in the clouds. It will be very swift. After this the tribulation will come. But there is alot of debate as to how long after the rapture the tribulation will actually start.
"The Day of the Lord" is the second coming after the tribulation.Jesus will then set His feet on the Earth.Everyone will see Him and everyones knee will bow and proclaim the He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

If nothing needs to happen, why did He tell us everything that would,in Matthew 24?

Matthew 24:3 "And as He sat upon the mount of Olives the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"

Jesus went to great detail of what the events and signs would be just before His second advent, that would mark the end of this flesh age.If the Church will not be here, can you please tell me who He was giving the signs of His return too?

We can refer to Paul as well

II Thessalonians 2:1 "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,"

II Thessalonians 2:2 "That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is [the Lord is just] at hand."

II Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come [it will not be], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

Jesus Christ is not gathering anyone to Him, nor is He coming here to earth, except there be a falling away first. The word for "falling away", in the Greek is "apostasy". Jesus told us in His revelation to John, in Revelation 9:11, that "Apollyon" is one of Satan's names, and this name is derived from the word apostasy.
The word "perdition" means "one that perishes". Satan and only Satan has already been condemned to die [to perish] by God. Satan's judgment day has come already back in the first earth age, and he will have no part in the Great White Throne judgment, or any other judgment yet to come. He has already been judged, and sentence by God to death "perdition" [Ezekiel 28 covers this judgment].

Same question, who was Paul giving this warning to?

Many think that only the saved will be changed when Christ returns, that simply isn't true,as they must be judged in their spiritual bodies.....The flesh age ends at the 2nd coming....Also there will be no one born during the millennium,as again age of the flesh will be over.......
Are you saying that everyone will be changed believers and unbelievers when we go into the Millenium?Their will be babies born during the Millenium because some mortals will enter the Millennial Kingdom. And there will be many who will turn against Jesus during the Millenium and will join satan in the final battle at the end of the Millenium. The Great White Throne judgment will then judge the unbelievers.

Matthew 24 refers to the Second coming not the rapture.

Act 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
Act 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

My belief is that the rapture and the second coming are two different events. Not everyone believes that.I can not tell you that I am the only one that is right. That is very prideful and we know what the Bible says about pride.I am just giving you my views. There are many on this messageboard I am sure.We will not be in heaven pointing fingers at each other and saying "See I was right".Heaven is not like that.

Can't be anyone born, for the simple fact that, flesh and blood cannot enter that kingdom, which will be His upon His return.....The term mortal applies only to the state of ones soul at this time....You will either have a mortal soul,or a immortal one.....Those that turn against Christ will not do so until after satan is released, sealing their destiny, which will be the death of that soul,in the lake of fire....

We who are raptured will enter heaven. Our bodies need to be changed and resurrected into new bodies.Bodies that can enter heaven because like you said flesh and blood can not enter into the Kingdom of heaven. We will be the Saints. Those believers who actually make it into the Millennial Kingdom, and I think there will be very few because they will die, will have mortal bodies. They will be different than the Saints who were raptured and dwelled in heaven with Jesus. These mortals that make it into the Millennial kingdom will be able to have children. As the Saints we will rule over the Millennial Kingdom with Christ.I think it is a Blessing to be a true believer now and enter the Kingdom of heaven at the rapture than wait and become a believer during the tribulation and be martyred Saints.I think there will be a huge harvest of believers during the tribulation.

Okay I'm not understanding...Christ and those who overcome, shall rule from Jerusalem(on earth)How canm their be people having children,if flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom,or are you suggesting flesh and blood people will be along side those who have been changed?Christ said He wasn't coming until after the trib,so Im I to believe He was talking to the tribulation saints?Next question, when you all are raptured, when do you return from Heaven, and what period shall we be in ?

(Proverbs 2:21-22 KJV) For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. {22} But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

(Proverbs 10:30 KJV) The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.....

Matthew 24:37-42 ...'But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.'

You said that Matthew 24 is the 2nd coming,my question is,where are these people taken too?

Yes,the rapture is imminent.Nothing else needs to happen for Jesus Christ to meet us in the clouds. It will be very swift. And our bodies will change into our perfect resurrected bodies. We will then be judged in the Judgment Seat of Christ/Bema seat judgment for everything we as believers did while we were in these bodies.Of course we are saved so everyone will go to heaven but some will receive a ton of rewards and some will receive no rewards. After this the tribulation will come. But there is alot of debate as to how long after the rapture the tribulation will actually start.

I agree with you Kathi, the Day of the Lord is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Let me show you what the scriptures says. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 - 5:4

1 Thessalonians is the description of the Resurrection and Rapture.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

1 Thessalonians is the description of the Day of The Lord.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout...For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

P.S. - But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:43-44

Kathi Who is going to spread the gospel during the tribulation?
There will be the "Two witnesses" who will spread the gospel over the earth during the tribulation.
Revelation 11:3-12
3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God[a] of the earth. 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. 6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

There is two possibilites of who those two witnesses could be and that is:
1)Moses and Elijah
2)Enoch and Elijah
I believe that the Holy Spirit will remain on this earth during the tribulation. Many people believe that the Holy Spirit will be taken out.

This is the removal of unbelievers as an act of judgment in the second coming.

Yes,I am saying that there will be those mortals who have entered the Millennium Kingdom from the tribulation that will be flesh and blood and will be able to have children. We who have been raptured and have been in heaven with Christ will not be mortal. We will be the Saints with a body like Christ. Our bodies have been changed during the rapture.
The Saints will ride with Jesus on white horses at the end of the tribulation and will witness the great battle of Jesus with Satan. We know who will win :biggrin2 We as the Saints will rule the Millennial Kingdom with Christ.
