I am not good at word games or riddles.Just come out with it.Plain and simple.Come on..... I KNOW you have to be able to read better than that.
A problem here is, yet again, another assumption. Unless we look at a side-by-side comparison of those two times the temple was burned, and people killed, and the Jewish system all but eradicated, it cannot be said that the Babylonian attack was, indeed, worse than when the Romans did it again.
Without such a comparison, all anyone is doing is blowing smoke to say the first was worse than the second....... although we DO know that nothing worse has happened to the entire Jewish peoples and system since 70 AD... not even the Nazi Holocaust.
Therein lies another "rub". Many people (and not just Catholics) honestly think this means they have to check every thought, action, and even dreams on a constant basis... moment-by-moment... in order to have made and/or kept ourselves in a state of readiness.................. OR ELSE !!!!

Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Mat 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Seriously.. whom is the tribulation actually for. the literal reading...
Sounds like for those who did not flee to the mountains of Judaea... pregnant and nursing mothers...
2 Hezekiah 1,I wonder, if we are Christians, how we are to make ourselves any more "ready" than Jesus already did?
Whether it already happened... will happen tomorrow... or won't happen till way past the year 7593...... there ain't much we can do about it, but accept Jesus now.
So people can avoid tribulation just by staying away from the city of Jerusalem? Then most the world will not be effected."Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand)...for then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Since the Abomination of Desolation will be set up in the Temple in Jerusalem at that time, it would pertain to those who are in Jerusalem at that time.
JLB
apparently so.So people can avoid tribulation just by staying away from the city of Jerusalem? Then most the world will not be effected.

Truthfully, there was worldwide coverage of "Shock and Awe", too. I just flipped the channel, and it didn't affect me, or even have an effect on my life, one way or another. Well...... maybe gasoline prices went up a little.Oh, surely you jest! There is going to be worldwide coverage of the event on TV and the internet. Jesus knew that.
