The Incarnation, A Sperm or a complete Fetus of Jesus.

I maintain that the complete Fetus of Immanuel entered the Virgin womb of Mary, and needed nothing from her except a warm womb, and nutrients thru her umbilical cord.

Yeshua was of the seed of David (Romans 1:3; 2Ti 2:8). How would a fetus implanted in Mary's womb accomplish that without Mary's egg being involved?

Wow, we agree. :salute

Luk 1:31 and lo, thou shalt conceive in the womb, and shalt bring forth a son, and call his name Jesus;
Luk 1:32 he shall be great, and Son of the Highest he shall be called, and the Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father,
Luk 1:33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob to the ages; and of his reign there shall be no end.'

Only through Mary's actual bloodline could David be called His father, in the flesh.

Just what did the Holy Spirit place in Mary's womb,

His will :)

That my friend is the big question. Since it appears in my finite thinking that Mary's egg had to function, was the sperm of Jesus what was placed in her by the Holy Spirit? Or was there more than just the sperm?

I dont think there had to 'something" placed there... God said let there be Light

Chopper, I'm puzzled. If I may, I would appreciate it if you could tell why is it you think something physical must have been placed in Mary?

Exactly! Yahweh's spoken words and thoughts (logos) became flesh. He spoke His Son into existence just as He spoke creation into existence.

not quite. it is written Yhvh created(formed) a body for Yeshua.
it is also written Yeshua has been forever sharing Yhvh's glory. the body was created, Yeshua is always, was always, and always will be.

Well Deb. I'm also puzzled at all your questions when you haven't exposed your belief's I would very much appreciate what you believe concerning the incarnation. Actually, I have about seven more resources to study before I post what I believe. What my Baptist doctrines that I have previously been taught might not be the truth, :bricks so it's off to my library to exercise my brain. :thinking As my favorite movie star, Winnie The Pooh, would say, "thinking thinking!"

:) I love Winnie the Pooh Bear, he likes honey, me too.

Actually, I did state my beliefs. see post #16 :nod
So here it is again....The power of God, through the Holy Spirit, caused Mary to conceive. Her egg was given life. God purposed it and it was so. The Bible doesn't tell me anything else, so I don't know anything else.

I would argue for a lack of sperm involvement, I think. God wouldn't need to use even that to accomplish the purpose. Plus, if one wasn't involved, it would back up Mary's virginity even more...if, theoretically, there had been a way to check for the presence of sperm.

I'm short on time right now, have to head to church, maybe you could just tell me what you know? :)

This is one of the first things to know from the first chapters of Scripture :
Young's Literal Translation
And God saith, 'Let the earth yield tender grass, herb sowing seed, fruit-tree (whose seed is in itself) making fruit after its kind, on the earth:' and it is so.

Every seed reproduces after its own kind. (no such possibility as the abomination of the theory of evolving)

Okay, but you're leading up to some sort of point. What is it?

Maybe it's not your intention, but it doesn't feel like I'm getting a straight answer here.
The last post where I made any sort of argument in this thread, I asserted that God didn't need to use a sperm to have Mary conceive. I'm not sure whether you agree or disagree, you haven't really said. So I'm not really seeing what relevance this post has to the subject, unless it's meant to back up your position.

my position is simply what Scripture says, as always. the seed is not a small example of what grows.
Yhvh plants the seed. simple. maybe it's too simple.
see the examples of "seed" throughout Scripture - Yhvh has provided a lot of proof of what He means.

So is your argument for or against the presence of sperm?
My argument was that for God to transfer His "genes" (if they can be called that?) to Jesus, He wouldn't need sperm. Sperm is physical and transfers the genes chemically, if I remember correctly. Instead of using sperm, God could have just placed His genes there, no physical cells needed.

Yeshua humbled Himself to be born a man. (notice, even "a slave") (note that Yhvh never said slavery was wrong nor being or having a slave )(other thread some day)

Philippians 2:8 - Bible Gateway - BibleGateway.com
8 and having been found in figure as a man, humbled ... but stripped himself of all privilege by consenting to be a slave by nature and being born as mortal man ...

How does Yhvh create life ? His Gift inside a woman ?
If He sidestepped the steps He Created in Yeshua's Life, would He be a man? fully human ?

Yhvh knows. His Word shows clearly that He conceived Yeshua in the womb of Mary divinely. That's enough to know. All the other hyperbole leads to arguments without merit and idolatry like in the rcc.

You're still not giving me a straight answer. You seem to be being rather vague, I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to say or what point you're trying to make.
