1Co 2:1

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

The Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ, has true spiritual power, it is a place of death for the "natural" mind. It is the place of victory for the "spiritual" mind.
For those who have reckoned at its purpose, it has become the power over satan and his kingdom.

Col 2:14

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Col 2:15

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it

One who really understands the victory of Christ over satan must first understand the work He did upon the Cross. For on the Cross Christ defeated sin and death for all those who believe!

Calvin is not the messiah!

As stated, you make The Crosses Power depend upon man, which actually makes man the more powerful. You should preach the power of man, not the Cross !

Really stinks when you try to have an honest conversation about a very important topic and the other person will not respond in an honest way, dont it "savedbygrace"

Joh 16:11

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Rom 8:3

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

When the Holy Spirit come we would know that the prince of this world, had been judged. Where was he judged? When the sin of the world was judged in the body of Our Lord Jesus, satan was judged!

The "serpent" on the pole of Moses was "sin", and the "father of all sin" being judged on the Cross!

Joh 3:14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Joh 3:15
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

2Co 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

satan hates this truth above all others! watch and see?:grumpy

This my beloved brothers and sisters, is the Power of The Cross! :praying

Taking up one side of a truth (a half truth) and then claiming to be carrying the truth is worse than having nothing at all. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

1) serpent, fiery serpent
1a) poisonous serpent (fiery from burning effect of poison)
2) seraph, seraphim
2a) majestic beings with 6 wings, human hands or voices in attendance upon God

The fallen Angel ( the father of sin) , "The prince of this world" WAS JUDGED on the Cross

1Co 2:8

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

1Co 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Had the prince of this world known that God ,in His Wisdom, was about to judge him along with all the sin that he had brought into the world he would not have worked to crucify Christ. So then, "in Christ" all sin was judged. "In Him" there is NO sin. "In Him" the prince of this world is defeated! :toofunny

All who believe in Him? the battle against sin was won on His Cross!

Rom 6:6

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7

For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Rom 6:8

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Rom 6:9

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Rom 6:10

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Rom 6:11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,

but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. :readbible

The battle over sin in the flesh is won when the "believer" actually believes what Christ has done on the Cross!

The strength of sin is the "law", why?

Rom 7:8

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
Rom 7:9

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Rom 7:10

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
Rom 7:11

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
Rom 7:12

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Rom 7:13

Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

The Law is "spiritual" It can only be fulfilled in the "spirit"
One can only walk in the "spirit" when they see they are clean in Christ!:chin A sinner cannot walk in the "spirit"

1Co 11:29

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
1Co 11:30

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

Mat 8:17

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

All our sickness, all our sin was laid upon Him and judged
on His Cross, In His Body. To eat of His Body and not to discern this truth, is to eat in an unworthy manner. This is why many are sick and weak in the "church".

Isa 53:4

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. :wave

It makes no sense for anyone to speak about the Power of the Cross, when the Cross has no Power unless man lets it. The man effects the Cross and not the cross the man ! So why not talk about the power of man ?

Why must we go around this same mountain?

Heb 4:2

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb 4:3

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Some works people have a tough time with the "unworthly" part of I Corinth. 11:30. The denomination that I attended couldn't seem to get this one. It's about discerning the Lord's body not their worthiness to partake. There's healing in partaking of the Lord's supper. ALL kinds of healing for whatever you need. In our partaking we glorify Him and He blesses us.

men have turned the Cross of Christ into their puppet, they control it at their whims !

Not sure of your point? The Cross of Christ has "real power" not just a discussion in a forum but its a living "Spiritual" truth!
Luk 12:32
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Rom 8:31

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Ye have not, because ye ask not?:chin

1Jn 4:2

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Many believe John was dealing with the false teaching of the "Gnostics" which taught that Christ was not really in a physical body of flesh. Now the reason this is so important is because that Christ Jesus bore our sins in His own body, because of that we who believe have now had all our sin judged in His Body. The great truth of the Cross is that He took upon Himself that judgment that was ours, and without His Work on the Cross we are all still in our sins.

2Co 5:21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. :-)
