1Jn 4:2

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Many believe John was dealing with the false teaching of the "Gnostics" which taught that Christ was not really in a physical body of flesh. Now the reason this is so important is because that Christ Jesus bore our sins in His own body, because of that we who believe have now had all our sin judged in His Body. The great truth of the Cross is that He took upon Himself that judgment that was ours, and without His Work on the Cross we are all still in our sins.

1 John 4:3 KJV

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

It is the spirit of the anti-christ to do as they do, and all who manifest this spirit derive it from the same source. It originates from the love of error and from an unwillingness to abide in the truth. It is indeed possible for one to have the spirit of truth, a love for truth while in error; and to have a spirit of error while holding much truth.

Well... every once in a while you and I agree!:-)

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Gal 3:13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

The power of the Cross must be seen and spoken by those who see His Victory for us there! Do not fear nor let any man lay upon you the Law and its curse. For no man can by The Spirit of God say Christ is accused! If you are "in Him" no man can call you accursed by The Spirit of God!

Mat 25:41

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

The issue of His Work on the Cross, is the issue!:chin

Gen 3:4

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Gen 3:5

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

1Co 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. :chin

The "Christain" that refuses to "reckon" themselves dead with Christ and alive to God in the "Spirit" Can never understand the things of God!

The natural mind can receive doctrine, religious activity, emotions of the flesh, but can never know the Truth of Christ in us, and the power that brings to live a life of victory!:thumbsup

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

"That I may know Him"? This is the "cry of the heart" of Paul who at this time had walked with the Lord for many years.
I tell you as a "brother in Christ" that the first lesson we should learn is "that we know nothing yet as we should know"

Eph 3:8

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
Eph 3:9

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Its about "Jesus Christ", He is "unsearchable" in His riches!
In His own home-town of Nazareth He could do no mighty works, why?
Because they THOUGHT they knew Him!:chin

Psa 2:1

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Psa 2:2

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psa 2:4

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. :toofunny
Psa 2:5

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Psa 2:6

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Psa 2:7

I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. :thumbsup

Gal 6:14

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Gal 6:15

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

There is a "New Creation", a new heaven and new earth. But no man can see or enter in to the "New" until he has come to the Cross and considered why One so perfect, One so tender and kind, One so willing to give Himself for others?

Not one Word He spoke will fail!

Go reckon at yonder Cross!

Joh 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Isa 53:11

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isa 53:12

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

He has redeemed us with His own Blood, we are purchased with the Blood of God! The New Testament is His Contract to us, written in His Blood. The water is the Word of His Grace, which washes away all that defiles us, the "dirt" of this world.

Let the redeemed of the Lord, say so!:thumbsup

Isa 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isa 53:7

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isa 53:8

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Isa 53:9

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Isa 53:10

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isa 53:11

When we begin to believe "His Finished Work" on the Cross?
We will be able to see how "all things are possible for those who believe"

Joh 13:7

Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

Here is the symbolic act, of the Cross?

He rose from His Throne; He laid aside the garments of Light. He took the towl of our humanity and wrapped it around His Glorious person, and poured His own Blood and Water into a basin at the Cross, and set Himself as a servant, to wipe from us all the foul stains of sin from this world.

By His Blood we are clean, by the washing of His Word we come to understand how clean He has made us!

Joh 19:34

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
Joh 19:35

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

Eph 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Eph 5:27

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Only by "faith" in His Word are we "washed" by His Word!
"The just shall live by faith"

Interesting. Have you prayed for healing for someone? I certainly have and yes there were doubts. There is nothing altruistic that I do where doubt does not oppose in some manner or degree. There were doubts that I even needed to pray at all. For I know God can do anything, but perhaps there is an unseen purpose that is being served.

God's Spirit works in us. God does His work through us. We spread the gospel for Him, we pray He answers. Christ lives through us. He continues His ministry through us. We aren't here to just be couch potatoes.

Keep up your praying and discipling, good and faithful servant.

Most people do not believe in the power of the cross, they just give lip service ! Most people do not believe that the Cross saves those Christ died for, but only made it possible !

Php 2:5

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For God Himself came and suffered for our sins. "He humbled Himself" that we might have a place to humble ourselves.

How much pride in man, that he will not bow his knee to this good and humble God? Be sure it is the pride of man that will condemn those who will not see His good Work!

He ask for but a humble confession, yet many would not even grant that He deserves this?

Isa 16:5

And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
Isa 16:6

We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

There is no 'power' in the cross. If you find it necessary to be rescued that is a matter for you. Jesus said sell what you have and follow him.

The power of the cross is that which God transforms us into the likeness of Christ. God must first tear down before building anew. That tearing down of the old is by the power of the cross. It is death before life.

way

There is no 'power' in the cross.

Thats blasphemy and unbelief at the highest.

Paul says of himself and its true of all believers Gal 6:14

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
