Psalms 2:7 says, ".... Thou art my son this day I have begotten thee."
Acts 13:30-33 says that this was a prophecy of the Resurrection.
Jesus was born in a stable and was born again in a garden tomb.
Prior to the crucifixion he could have been overcome by the sophistry of Satan.
After the resurrection Satan was a defeated foe. The fallen nature of Adam was destroyed and he was a new creature.
He was given all power in heaven and earth, and was raised up to sit in heavenly places.

So, how does this affect us?
Romans 6 states that we were crucified, buried and resurrected with Christ. verse 6 says that our old man was crucified that the body of sin might be destroyed.
I take that to mean that our fallen nature, the nature we received from Adam was destroyed. God has declared that we are dead and our life is hidden with Christ in God.
To walk by faith or to live by faith simply means that we believe what God believes and it will flow out of our life. We too are new creatures.
We have been translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. Col. 1:13
We have been raised up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Eph. 2:6.
By faith we can walk in these powerful promises. We can face all temptation when we live by every word that has been spoken by the mouth of God.
The result:
"Whosoever is born of God [in the garden tomb] doth not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9
Born into a new existence. No longer a member of Adam's race but children of the second Adam.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Peter 4:1,2 "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God."

Jude 24 "Unto Him who is able to keep you from falling and present you faultless..."

To be born again is to have eternal life and to be controlled by God, living a life of continual obedience.

To be born again is to have eternal life and to be controlled by God, living a life of continual obedience.
The word 'again' in this, literally means "above."

While the idea of being again (a second time) is certainly true, it is simply a spiritual birth.

But being born spiritually does not always lead to continual obedience. Some, who fallen away for instance, may have been born again/above, but turned back to the world rather than remain in the family of God.

Yes, I believe maintaining a life of obedience confirms our place in the Family, and may be expressed outwardly, but some of us can die spiritually, (fall away), after receiving this privilege to be in God's Family.

Jesus Christ lived during a time of mystery cults. Some were already old and established by His time others were just developing. Basically the idea was that a person could be initiated into the mysteries….say of Osiris…and experience a rebirth , the same sort already experienced by the deities of the mystery cult. And…

Cs Lewis calls these sorts of pagan concepts good dreams that the pagans had that sort of overlapped and foreshadowed the good news 📰.

The idea 💡 that one could have a taste of death and be reborn in a spiritual sense was not foreign at all to the gentiles of that era. What strikes me as interesting about it is that the death abd life interplay continues throughout the Christian life…

Die to self daily put off the old put on the new 🆕 and of course the afterlife…

Where some will exist in a sort of never ending death and God’s people will be transformed and live in the fullness of eternal life.

I dunno 🤷‍♂️

Salvation means to be whole mind, body and soul as we surrender our will to God and allow his will to work in our lives by applying Gods word to every aspect of our lives. This allows us to know the mind of Christ and all the promises of God for our own well being so we can face anything that tries to come against us while here on this earth so we can triumph and be victorious through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Grace pardons us and mercy loves us unconditionally. Let’s start with the conversation of Jesus and Nicodemus to get a better understanding of what it is to be born again and how to shed this old sin nature through repentance and then we will move on to learn how grace and mercy works in our lives.
(John 3:1-7)

Jesus was teaching Nicodemus that it was a Spiritual rebirth or renewal of our spirit that through Gods spoken word we can reconcile our past sins through repentance to be made sinless again before God. We are all born with a sin nature because of sin being introduced into the world through Satan’s deceit when he told Eve it was alright to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil even though God forbid them to eat of it. Our flesh will always sin because that is our nature and God can not see our flesh because of our sins nor can he hear the prayers of a sinner.
(John 9:31; Romans 8:6-8)

Sin separates us from God because God is a spirit and can only recognize his own children by what spirit is living in their hearts. We have to renew, rebirth - born again, Gods Spirit within us in order to be called a child of God and see the kingdom of heaven. We now put off the old man (flesh) and put on the new man (Spirit). We are renewed by the word of God and through the Holy Spirit teaching us of all things.
(John 14:26; Colossians 3:1-17)

Jesus was born in a stable and was born again in a garden tomb.

To be born again is to have eternal life and to be controlled by God, living a life of continual obedience.
This implies that Jesus was sinful and in need of being born again, denying the deity of Jesus. It would also mean he couldn't "see the kingdom of God" or "enter the kingdom of God" until his resurrection, but that goes against the core of his message and also denies the deity of Jesus.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
Joh 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (ESV)

The word 'again' in this, literally means "above."
According to Psalm 2: 7 and Acts 13. 30-33 Do you believe the resurrection was a birth (this day have I begotten thee )
While the idea of being again (a second time) is certainly true, it is simply a spiritual birth.
Yes Jesus was born of the seed of David according to the flesh Romans 1. And by extension of the seed of Abraham and Adam. They could only pass on to him what they had. You cannot pull a clean thing out of an unclean. He was handed a nature just like their nature. He had to redeem all their failings. Without yielding to their sins, he had to overcome and bear them on the cross and bury them in the tomb. For the wages of sin is death and he took those sins upon him and put them to death without ever yielding to those sins.
When the nature of Adam, Abraham, David et al, died and was buried in that tomb, a new creature came out on resurrection morning, no longer of Adam's descent, begotten again of God. He was a new Adam and a progenitor of a new race of beings who are born again of God.
But being born spiritually does not always lead to continual obedience. Some, who fallen away for instance, may have been born again/above, but turned back to the world rather than remain in the family of God.
Yes, even Paul said, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." In the Lexicon that word castaway is also translated reprobate.
The Father's word clearly states that one who is born again is free of sin. It has no more dominion over you. This is to give the soul confidence that He will keep us from falling. By faithfully receiving the Life of God He guarantees your victory. If one turns from the power of God they are in the flesh and cannot please God.
Yes, I believe maintaining a life of obedience confirms our place in the Family, and may be expressed outwardly, but some of us can die spiritually, (fall away), after receiving this privilege to be in God's Family.
I can't say 'maintaining' . Why? For that implies that we are doing the work instead of God working in us to will and to do of His good pleasure.
All to often I have heard of the power and victorious life as a believer and then it is followed by , "That doesn't mean we wont sin..." this is a message from the pit and it sucks all the power from the Gift God has given.

I have not stated that Jesus was sinful. The implication was yours alone. To be strapped with a fallen nature and never give it expression was his experience. God proved that sin does not have dominion over us. Even though he always did those things that pleased the Father he still had to die. He demonstrated that we as humans of Adam's race must die and he merely showed us how serious it is to give up our life to be born again. Without the cross in our experience there is no resurrection.

I have not stated that Jesus was sinful.
I know.

The implication was yours alone.
Humans must be born again because we are sinful. Therefore, if Jesus was born again, it mist have been because he was sinful. If he wasn’t sinful, then there was no need for him to be born again. And he wasn’t, because his resurrection is not what is meant by “born again.”

This diminishes what Jesus did on the cross. The Son of God came to do what we could not—live a perfectly sinless life—and so become the propitiation for our sins by dying in our place, dying the death we deserve. Sin no longer has dominion only over those who put their faith in Jesus, because it was only through his death on the cross that made it possible.

Well, if you missed it in my original ost I don't think restating it will help'

It's unfortunate you missed it.

(John 3:1-7)
The requirement to be born again comes from the fact that there was something wrong with our first birth.
For one who is born again or begotten from the dead they have the mind of Christ. They are factually new creatures and have eyes to discern spiritual things.
As I have shown before the resurrection was a birth...a second birth, begotten from the dead. Jesus flesh life which came from Adam had to be destroyed to be born again from the dead.
"Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."
Col. 1: 18
"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, ..." Rev. 1:5
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Rom. 8:29

"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" Rom 1:3
Yes his sinful flesh was just like yours, yet he condemned sin (disobedience) by not participating in it. He became sin who knew no sin.
"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Rom.1: 11
So it is clear that we must believe that our old nature was put to death, and as Jesus we can daily put another nail in the coffin of the old man and the body of sin. This we do through continual obedience by the power of our resurrection life. It was important that Jesus had our nature so that he could show it to be ineffective by his life of obedience by the indwelling of the Son and destroy it completely on the cross. Only then could he experience the resurrection to life eternal. This he did to show us the way and what it means to be born again and be like him.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;(except Jesus who knew no sin)
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

There are five requirements to Salvation

1. Confession - Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9, 10
2. Repentance - Mark 1:14, 15
3. Faith - John 3:14-18
4. Regeneration - John 3:3-8
5. Holy Scripture - 2 Timothy 3:15

Why are we told to carry our cross daily?

what if born again means to start over
Although it may seem like semantics, it is a new beginning. your old life has passed away all things are made new. The problem is that the teaching of the day denies the power of the resurrection life. The religions of today do not believe that people can live in continual obedience as Jesus did. They think sanctification is an experience of sending less and less. This is a work of the flash. Their idea of victory are those small spaces of time between each sin. The scripture provides us with the promises that we will be kept. Until you believe that you have died and I'm born again to a new life and knowing that you will be kept from falling you were live continually in an experience of sitting in repenting kind of like a gerbil on the exercise wheel. Expending a lot of energy but never getting anywhere.

Got that right !!!!!!

Why are we told to carry our cross daily?
We are to take up our cross and follow in the foot steps of Jesus.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

That is why Jesus put it to death and then the Father gave that to us as a gift. He put us there on the cross and raised us up on resurrection morning no longer of the flesh but of the spirit
What Jesus put to death is our old man and given the Spiritual new life in Christ to all by faith believe in Him. What Jesus nailed to the cross was all our past sins that we can reconcile ourselves
back to Jesus again by that of God's grace through faith that is Christ Jesus to all who will believe in Him.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

what if born again means to start over
That's what it means to be Spiritually born again from above, John 3:5-8, Romans 10:9-10. By God's grace through Christ Jesus we are renewed/Spiritually born again, Ephesians 2:8-9.

Where does it say all of this in scripture?
