I really don't wish to leave his presence for another relationship if that makes sense.

If you are truly content, I would advise against changing anything unless I received audible confirmation, Lol.

What I would suggest, however, is that you keep channels like the one at this site open, so that you can still have as many avenues of human interaction as possible when you're wanting some fellowship. A great church is a huge blessing, as is having family and friends, but if you make some friends here you can go to a place like this any time and not feel lonely. I'd prefer to spend ALL my time with God if possible, but I found out that was not really His plan either.

Gotta get outta here and go to work or they will get upset with me, but great interacting with you, and glad you became a member. Stay awhile.

For me it isn't that I necessarily want to work. It's more of a matter that in a marriage I'm not really allowed to be myself and to have any time to myself. It's like life suddenly has to revolve around the needs of someone else and I get no time to myself. I don't care for that. I prefer to be alone and just enjoy my free time. I can be myself and live my life the way I wish to. A lot of times in marriage one spouse can be more overbearing than the other. No fun.

Marci, you're allowed what you believe.
If this is how you feel, then I think it's very honest and correct of you not to desire marriage.
In a marriage we are asked to respond to the needs of others and this is what parents mean, for instance, when they say they made many sacrifices for a child. Ditto for husbands. If the two cannot give in to each other, then the marriage will surely not be successful.
And yes, it does seem that one spouse is always more overbearing than the other.

They say kids have changed even in the past 5 years. Teachers are going on pension sooner, at least around here.

I feel like things have gotten worse. I was always angry at the world and besides early on I felt shy around women, looking for a relationship and never really got into one i realized I don't believe God wants me on that path. I'm 43 and still single. Despite now I'm dealing with lustful women at work (it's at a lesser extent now) and really see how much evil there is in the world these days, we can't even provide enough safety, job security but we're not even focused on serious issues like this.

We're too focused on materialistic things and honestly you can't go anywhere anymore without bumping into someone. I miss being on my grandfathers ranch because 90% of the time you were by yourself especially when farming. You could take a drive and see nobody for miles.

It's not even that way anymore there because they keep building more stuff out there and the nearest town is more like a city. I have zero ambition to have kids and mainly because everyday life feels like a struggle. So I just do what i can to survive and live on my own. Don't really need anyone to feel happy or complete.

I just see the world as it is and it just disgusts me. Some people can block it out, unfortunately I keep getting pulled into it.

I didn't speak bluntly about the skunk thing, it is what some of the new marijuana smells like. It is quite prevalent in our area. Really irritates me, but what can one do about it.

I agree things are deteriorating especially in the family arrangement, I think it really started forming in the 60's

I think another reason and correct me if I'm wrong, is that you have yet to really see a biblical marriage done how God wants it. But one thing is for sure, you are already married, to who? Jesus Christ, and that marriage commitment will outdo and other commitment you can imagine. Thing is any failure in it isn't Christ fault.

Also I respect your beliefs, sometimes I wish I didn't desire for a marriage so badly. However, commitment and self-sacrifice is apart of the Christian life. And that is apart of the sanctification we can't avoid, remember love does not seek for itself. So even if it's not with a husband, God will teach all his followers how to self-sacrifice one way or another. The me, myself, and I is apart of the old way and God has various was to break our will and wants and for us to surrender to His and to the service of others. God is currently doing it with me and sometimes no all the time the breaking is painful because I have to sacrifice my desires for God and others, but that's the Christian life. Christ was broken and said "Nevertheless not my will but your will be done" and we must follow (and his children will follow one way or another).

And few good parents exist, thank God for mine being among those few. These days parents are runned by the kids. But as God has made it known, it's not unexpected, but quite predictable and expected according to Isaiah 3:4,12

Nothing wrong with improving technology but you fail to include humans and expect them to be mindless slaves it makes it that much harder to even want a family. And to bring more people into the world isn't going help much, rather the people already here needs to work it out. But we just keep fighting with one another rather than help each other.

If it won't change its because humanity won't change. We solve problems that doesn't exist and ignore the problems we should be dealing with.

My grandparents said they had three or more siblings that died less then at two years old

Putting a kid into this world is a huge undertaking and if people don't feel up to that task, then maybe theres a purpose behind it. Or a sign of a bigger problem. There are those who want kids though so i do see it as God is making that decision. If God wanted me to get married and have kids it would have already occurred.

Precisely what I was getting at with my initial rant about what society has been fostering and creating a situation where parents don't really know how to parent and therefore their children don't really know how to parent, and so on and so forth on down the line.

MayGodHeal, I know that you were replying to jasonc, but I just want to say that your view is by design. Think about it. What better way for the enemy to diminish the power or influence of Christianity in the world by deteriorating your desire to have children you raise to sustain your values and deteriorate your desire to do the work to search for, or wait on God to bring you a woman who shares your values and you both work hard to raise children with your values and send them out into the world to influence it.

I get it, I know. Don't take this as me coming down on you about anything. But the other side of this and why I say this is by design is because the population control advocates want people like you and me to NOT want to have children, but this is also creating a problem as the Western population is in decline and that's the primary reason they do the (illegal) immigrant thing.

But overall, I read your statements and you seem to be heavily upset about the ideology spilled into the world and influencing everything. I get it. I have 4 who grew up in all this and everything went from relatively arguably sane, yet there were issues, to what the freak is going on with everyone's brain all of a sudden. So, I get it.

I guess I'm trying to say in similar fashion to jasonc is be careful that you're not being a stumbling block to yourself and miss the opportunity God may place before you so that you can be an influence against all the things you worried about, no matter how small an influence, even if it's one person your children may influence in the end, it's a victory achieved overall.

And I'm usually not this optimistic about anything if I'm honest with you. Most of the time I have your outlook.

You got people dismissing fossil fuels yet we rely on it every day. Most people including myself wouldn't know what to do if the system collapses. Then you have job insecurity, people coming up with ridiculous ways to get money. This couple was getting YouTube views by causing accidents.

We have enough people in the world today that are not taught values and not every Christian family has good children. If that was the case then we probably wouldn't be ruled under Satan. Just look at our schools. No values being taught anymore. When good is seen as evil and evil is good what are you supposed to do? No, I'm glad I don't have kids because looks like its going to get a whole lot worse, hell on earth. I may not survive if the system were to collapse and really again if God wanted me to have kids it would have already occured.

Gotta look at it from a different point of view rather then telling people they should have kids when its really up to God and that person. Nobody else should have that say so.
