If dinosaurs are extinct, then big deal.
Why does everyone make a big fuss out of it?
Dragons are extinct.
The Phoenix is extinct.
I think dodo birds are extinct, ( although I do call someone I know a dodo bird, lol...).
Some day I will be extinct.
What's the fuss anyway?

Dragons and phoenixes aren't real though. :neutral

From what I understand it is proven that at least some dinosaurs existed alongside men because I've seen videos of dino foot prints with human footprints right with them like they were stalking the dino. Plus in all those clips you see from Egypt with all of the hieroglyphics and stuff, look closely, there is usually a dinosaur one also. It looks like a stegosaurus.

This is on youtube if you do a search for it. Dino footprints...

Okay, I realize that this might be a bit off topic but I didn't remember Jurassic Park III being so boring for one,.. :drool (Jurassic World and its sequel were a LOT better) and this is more on topic because can you imagine this being real!? :biggrin

Alright I admit it,.. I love dinosaurs!!! :biggrin2 (And Ice Age lol)

What a great ride!!!!
It made me miss Disney World.
Wish I could go back.
Thanks for posting.

I feel the Bible was very plain in saying that God created the Earth and all the creatures in 7 days. I don't believe this would be divided into days and say what he did each day if it signified something else. It tells us about creatures of the air, of the land, and of the sea. I don't feel there is any need to exclude dinosaurs from that list.

Most of science out there will say that dinosaurs existed millions of years ago, but this is in direct contradiction with what creation will tells us assuming that dinosaurs were made then. A lot of science will tell you that the prints found with human prints in dinosaur prints are some kind of fake or misread and are really something else. I have no doubt in my mind that there are corrupt scientists whom are non-believers that will try to do anything to destroy strong evidence that proves that creationism is the real deal. The Smithsonian has been known to cover up evidence that supports creationism (some may think that this is a big conspiracy).

There has been some found evidence of dinosaur footprints and human footprints together. Dinosaur Valley State Park supposedly has such things to see:

Answers in Genesis looks through these topics, too, and might be worth a look:

Then there are many theories as to why the dinosaurs died out or mostly died out (if you're like me and still think there are dinosaurs in some parts of the world that exist because they wouldn't have been created millions of years ago). Anyway, most think the flood wiped them out, but if God preserved the creatures by taking two of each kind, there could have been dinosaurs on the ark. There are theories of oxygen levels dropping on the earth before and after the flood, stating there must have been a significant decrease and perhaps this killed off many dinosaurs. Some theorize they were hunted, ran out of food, or there was some imbalanced ecosystem catastrophe. Whatever it was, we may never know for sure.
How old do you think the earth is?

please expound some more on this evening and morning literalism that occurs without a sun. Also how a night is considered a day. This is groundbreaking stuff to me. Never heard of such before.

So you admit you have never read any creationist literature or web sites.
What I may saying is not uncommon.
To believe that when God created and said it was day number what ver is just that a day is basic understanding of genesis.

Further to which, as I have said and your rabbi friend will confirm.
Genesis is written to impart the information that creation took a period of 6 days, not 6 periods, not 6 thousand years or 6 done or any other measure of time.
But as the ten commandments confirm, in 6 days the Lord made heaven and earth so you will labour for 6 days and rest on the seventh.

Who do you call a dodo bird?
Do I know the person?

Believing the world was made in 6 literal days creates many problems.
How are you so sure that this is true?
Maybe time is different for God and DAYS were used so we could understand?
Maybe Genesis is used to convey a TRUTH instead of the history of the creation of the world?

Man has always tried to understand where he comes from and where he is going and what he's doing here in between.

History in the bible does not begin until Abraham.
Before that God INSPIRED man to understand his beginning, his end, and his time on earth.
This DID NOT require that everything is to be taken literally.

Do we understand the difference between INSPIRED
and actual words coming out of the mouth of God?

Do YOU think there's a difference?

IMHO
It is very difficult for man to apprehend God. Meaning that mankind tries to comprehend God...and we are truly incapable.
The Earth is rather large...we sit in our chairs inside of a larger house, in a neighborhood, in a city, inside of a country, inside of a continent surrounded by oceans, on a ball floating in circles in space around a Sun that is so large it's like a tiny ball bearing next to an oversized beach ball...and we believe that we can back away from it all enough to look upon it and comprehend it.
This isn't possible with God. We can never back up enough to view the entirety of God.
(God is infinite)

Now,
Again I believe that this infinite God wanted to convey very particular truths about us that He felt we needed to know.

God is so big how can He be concerned with me?

Well, the use of the word "Day" tells us.

God carefully and specifically focused on each and every characteristic this universe was going to have before reaching the culmination of his creation which was mankind. We are the object of the exercise.

A very difficult concept for us to understand is that God created Time itself. Where it is not specifically and specially called out...it somewhat is by the name of the Book and first word in the scriptures.
Genesis is the Latin word for "in the beginning".
Meaning that there wouldn't be a beginning without God. God made the beginning, God has already created the end. He can put the space in the middle of the two times (beginning and End) between the toes on his feet...and have room left over for more.

God is outside of time (as well as inside) and is not controlled by such the way we are.

But we know that we are important to God by the use of the word "Day"... because God wanted us to know that this creation of his isn't going to completely fall apart...He built it well...He focused on each and every stage in the construction of the universe. It isn't like a house of cards He built while bored one day.
And because of his omnipotence and omniscience it didn't take him very long to do each part... like the decades spent by the Pharaohs on their tombs and castles.

But He still spent a period of time (a day) focused on each and every stage in the universe's construction.

I'm not gonna try and put God in a box and limit Him to 24 hours. I'm just not cheeky enough to do so. Other's mileage may vary.

I agree fully.
We're so small. If only we could see the earth from space. They say that those that have been up in space come back different persons , maybe practically, maybe spiritually, but different.
I'm on another thread stating that we only know about God what He WANTS us to know or what He believes we NEED to know.

Can an ant every understand a human totally?
Only what they can see...only what they can experience...only what we would
teach them if we cared to.

We can know God......
but not fully.
plenty of scripture for this.

Many are deists...but then why would God have become man?
The reason is because He cares for us.
He made Himself into an ant so we could understand Him better....
but still not fully.
Jesus spoke to this.
John 3:12

Amen!
God prepared this earth home for us.
I used to tell this to my "kids".
He made everything for us and this is why God is visible in creation...
Romans 1:19-20 one of my favorite verses.

Right. Let's just try to imagine what NOTHING is.
Is it a white space?
No....that is something.

Try to imagine what NO TIME is.
Is it time standing still?
No....that is time.

I like what you said about taking care for the correct construction of earth.
Each part was good.
Each part was a stage....
At that time, man knew days. He didn't know about billions of years...

So I agree that God cannot be put into a box....
We tend to do that at times,,,,but we really should try not to.
God is too big for any sized box we may have down here on earth.

Wow, you just said a mouthful.
History did not begin with Abraham, only Jewish history.
Abraham's family line can be traced back to Noah.
And knowing Noah's age and family line can be traced back to Adam.
That's all history.
No, we don't know the family line of North Koreans, but what is written in the Bible is all history.
If God inspired man to understand his beginning, then we all can have a different Genesis and beyond.
And that's exactly what worldly people want to do.

Hey
I always say a mouthful.
You don't have to agree with it.
Jewish persons also believe history begins with Abraham.
Adam is not history.
WHO was there to record it?
And did Moses write all of the Torah?
I doubt it....it's attributed to him but with much doubt.
How do you explain a serpent that could speak?

It's a shame that we Christians cannot accept the truth.
Atheists make fun of our "religion" because it makes little sense when taken literally.

You could agree with this or not...
It doesn't make me any less Christian than you.

I believe in GOD
not in a BOOK.

I'm trusting God,,,who made Himself be known through the bible.
I'm not trusting the bible for my salvation.
I would have been saved even if I had stayed in the CC and knew no theology at all.

Think about this before you answer.

You're welcome, and me too. :sad

Oh really?
They're both in the Bible.

Dragons mean dinosaurs and pheonixs are just symbolic of Christ and everlasting life. The only time they're real as animals is in Harry Potter. I wish all of that fun and fantasy stuff was real though as it would be awesome if there was such thing as good wizards and witches!! :biggrin

It would have come out in bible study...
but no bible study.

Huh??

Huh??
Re the bible study comment by me.
What you say above about dragons and phoenixs is information that would come out in bible study.

No mystery.

Huh??
Job 29:18; "Then I thought, ‘I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days like the phoenix; "

It seems funny how many people don't know stuff that they should know.

Guys there is no magical creatures like dragons and pheonixs. How they're being referenced in the Bible isn't like they're talked about in Harry Potter. Dragons, fairies, unicorns as we know them in fairytales more than likely do NOT exist.
