Just to make clear, This statement is the conclusion to the Parable of the Wedding Feast. Jesus spoke this parable to show what the kingdom of heaven will be like when the end of the age comes. In the parable, the king sends his servants out to gather the wedding guests to the wedding feast. But those invited refused to come, some because they were too busy with their own worldly pursuits and some because they were positively hostile toward the king. So the king commands his servants to go out and invite anyone they find, and many come and fill the wedding hall. But the king sees one man without wedding clothes, and he sends him away. Jesus concludes by saying that many are called/invited to the kingdom, but only those who have been “chosen†and have received Christ will come. Those who try to come without the covering of the blood of Christ for their sins are inadequately clothed and will be sent into “outer darkness,â€
Deborah13:I present the Scriptures which were designed to convict.
1 John 1 and 2 KJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
John, truly care for them. He told them the truth, with love.
IMO, you are saying that most people here are spiritually blind.man I am not an eternal security type at all but man I have never met one was so against that he says god calls him to say that it wrong.if the energy was spent on the lost we have more in the kingdom then time wasted on what only god can show.
From the warnings/threats in the NT
to Paul's working out his salvation with fear and trembling
Maybe we see these scriptures very differently. To me these warnings/threats as you put them, to me they speak LIFE, not death.
Does that go for one of my favorites (in post 34) also? From the warnings/threats in the NT

I have another one about Paul's fear, which I will post tomorrow.
Then, thou needs to explain (to yourself):You want those words to hiss at me, but they don't. Ps 23 "thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me."
As per usual, you people have no idea what I'm talking about.
BTW, I have evangelized many, many thousands of people ...
mostly non-believers, and some Christians.
