By God’s law it’s impossible … it’s only possible by God’s grace!

I was called to be an evangelist.
Matthew 22:14King James Version (KJV)

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Wow.

Just to make clear, This statement is the conclusion to the Parable of the Wedding Feast. Jesus spoke this parable to show what the kingdom of heaven will be like when the end of the age comes. In the parable, the king sends his servants out to gather the wedding guests to the wedding feast. But those invited refused to come, some because they were too busy with their own worldly pursuits and some because they were positively hostile toward the king. So the king commands his servants to go out and invite anyone they find, and many come and fill the wedding hall. But the king sees one man without wedding clothes, and he sends him away. Jesus concludes by saying that many are called/invited to the kingdom, but only those who have been “chosen” and have received Christ will come. Those who try to come without the covering of the blood of Christ for their sins are inadequately clothed and will be sent into “outer darkness,”

man I am not an eternal security type at all but man I have never met one was so against that he says god calls him to say that it wrong.if the energy was spent on the lost we have more in the kingdom then time wasted on what only god can show.

You are correct. Blessings friend.

I present the Scriptures which were designed to convict.

1 John 1 and 2 KJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

John, truly care for them. He told them the truth, with love.

You know, I find the language of John's First Epistle among the most winning and searching of the New Testament.

Blessings.

As per usual, you people have no idea what I'm talking about.

From the warnings/threats in the NT
to Paul's working out his salvation with fear and trembling
to progressive sanctification
to how God's evangelists operate
to the purpose of God's prophets
and to everything else!

BTW, I have evangelized many, many thousands of people ...
mostly non-believers, and some Christians.

IMO, you are saying that most people here are spiritually blind.
And I concur.
I've been here a few years now, but not as long as you.

Seriously, the time is getting short ... and it's time for the church to wake up!

You should read what God's prophets have been seeing and hearing
in visions and dreams for 30+ years now!

The Holy Spirit is our helper.................. He helps us, not do it all for us. Him that overcomes, with Help freely given by grace.

Not sure how this is hard to fathom. You don't sit on your backside and snap your fingers at the Holy Spirit and tell him to keep you in Right standing with God. (Righteousness) There is obedience, running your race, staying on course, being the body part designed to be. Being a doer of the Word and not just a hearing. All those things are where the Holy Spirit comes in and helps. Helper, not slave.

Maybe we see these scriptures very differently.
To me these warnings/threats as you put them, to me they speak LIFE, not death.
Does that go for one of my favorites (in post 34) also?

I have another one about Paul's fear, which I will post tomorrow.

Oh no! Yike!

If I tell my grandson, don't touch that rattle snake. Am I speaking death to him or life?

You want those words to hiss at me, but they don't. Ps 23 "thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me."

There is just one way to be sure! See 1 John 2
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth [[not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.]]
[5] But whoso [[keepeth his word,]] in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

PS: And there are a class seen that do not do so!

These ones 'PROMISE LIBERTY' while living in sin! 2 Peter 2
[18] For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
[19] While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
[20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
[21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
[22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Is it Godly fear to believe what God tells me is the certain truth? I can't buy into that. To take a leap from a water tower 300 ft. up seems more like that I will become a blob at the end of the day? And that is known by me!

John, believe it or not, you're still a sinner after you've preached to thousands of people. Do you know why. This is not a riddle.

Paul documents that we will ESTABLISH the Law of God in Rom. 3:31

And yes, Paul says GOD FORBID, this is done by our FAITH! (see Hebrews 11:1-2)

And then again he is told how weak that he is in verses 2 Cor. 12:7-10...
[7] And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
[8] For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
[9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
