2. Apostle Paul further tells of the same matter in the next chapter. How the law itself is spiritual, but as a man, ( under that same law) we are carnal, as we are sold under sin.Then stop beating that dead horse. The problem is not Jesus’ state of holiness but his value system which seems to he understood to be as narcissistic as modern man. He didn’t value his own holiness. He loved people. It’s probably just too different.
He focused on others because he loved them, not because he had achieved a goal of being sinless.
Notice no focus on his own greatness but on what he gives. He loves…he gives…that’s the message.
He loves, he gives. That’s his message, not “I am great/perfect/holy/etc, look at me.
Next chapter 8, and Apostle Paul sums it up again, how the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, sets us free from the ( previous) law of sin and death. ( where we were sold under sin, and held in subjection/bondage.)
For the creature was made subject to vanity ( in the law.) by reason of Him ( God) who subjected us to be in hope. The creature is delivered from that bondage of corruption, ( all our lifetime fearing corruption/death, we were subject to bondage, and we were delivered through Jesus Christ taking part in flesh and blood, that through death, He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil.)
Romans 8 then tells, for we are saved by hope, ( the hope of Jesus Christ in eternal life. ) and a hope that is seen is not hope, but if we hope for what we see not, then we wait for it with patience.
Paul again speaks of this same in Titus 1 and 3, of the faith of Gods elect, ( they acknowledge the truth which is after godliness.) in hope of eternal life, from (believing/trusting) in the promise that God had made, ( the promise of the Spirit) and God cannot lie, and in these last times manifested His word ( of His promise of eternal life) through preaching, committed to the Apostle Paul through the commandment of God our Saviour. ( His commandment is life everlasting. John 12:50.)
Titus 3 continues, it is not by works of righteousness which we have done, ( we cannot obey our way to believe, or be in a law subjecting us to sin in unbelief.) BUT, according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which God shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
That is us being justified by his grace, so we should be made heirs according to the HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE..
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Titus 1: Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Next in 1 Corinthians, we are exhorted how we are bought with a price, and then to not be the servants of men. ( as that would mean being servants of the same sin/bondage.)
Glorifying God in our body and spirit, which are Gods. ( to obey until a person sins, is set free from nothing, and it is not faith which has set us free through the free gift/price paid.)
For by grace we are saved through faith, not of ourselves, it is all the gift of God. ( it is through the faith of Christ, and the Word of faith which is preached.) so no man can boast, ( by strength shall no man prevail, as God keeps the feet of His saints.)
We are His workmanship, we have to be created in Christ Jesus unto good works, as God ordained. ( not as people ordain and break.)
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1 Corinthians 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Apostle Paul detailed those who turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, desiring to be in bondage again. ( to works of law/obedience, to be servants of sin, not servants of righteousness of God.)
We are free, not to use our liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but to be as the servants of God.
Apostle Peter also gives warning, how there were false prophets among the people ( teaching Israel to obey in a law and not to have faith in God instead.) and there shall be false teachers among us, the same way.
They bring in heresies, they deny the Lord that BOUGHT US, ( they deny that we are bought with the free gift / the purchased of the church of God with Christs own blood, and to believe in His righteousness to be saved.) Many follow their subtle ways, when they speak evil of the way of truth.
They speak great swelling words of vanity,, they allure through the flesh those who were clean escaped from them, ( Jesus set us free when we believe in His word, as the Samaritans did, and not as the Jews of Israel rejected.) who live in error. ( in sin of unbelief.)
These false teachers promise liberty, while they are servants of corruption. ( of sin and unbelief in Jesus Christ.) and of whom ma man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. ( brought into sin and unbelief, by the false teachers, that many follow now.)
We escaped those pollutions of the world, ( the world is wicked, the god of this world blinds the minds of those who BELIEVE NOT, through these false teachers. 2 Corinthians 4:4. 1 John 5:19.) through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, ( the same as the Samaritans confessed and believed through His word, that Jesus is the Christ, the Saviour of the world.) they are entangled again in the pollutions of the world, ( as the Jews of Israel rejected Christ setting them free, by believing in the truth and the truth shall set them free.)
It is better for them to not have known the way of righteousness, ( the truth, of believing in our heart that God raised Christ from the dead to be saved, as with the heart man BELIEVES UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS. Romans 10:9-10.) than after they have known it, to turn from the Holy commandment delivered unto them. ( the commandment of God is life everlasting, by believing in the preaching of Jesus Christ, for belief in His righteousness declared. Romans 3:26. 4:5.)
Galatians 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
1 Peter 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2 Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
2 Peter 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Romans 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
