THEN you get faith because you believed.

BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SAVED.
FIRST we believe
THEN we are saved.

Use your own mind.

You say that it is up to a person to believe and from that belief they are saved.
This is the verse you posted. Whose faith are you saying it is? Yours?
If so, then how could it be a gift?

Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB
8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

The unsaved CANNOT comprehend the gospel nor believe in it:
Only from salvation is that possible

Not only does our faith "not really save us" - it cannot save at all.
The true believe comes from being born-again - a fruit of the Spirit.
Becoming born-again happens to only those who are saved, not before.
Until that happens no one is able to hear or believe because the god of this world - satan-
has blinded all of the unsaved.

[2Co 4:4 KJV] 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The reason that they don't believe is because they are unbelievers. On the day of Pentecost 8,000 unbelievers heard about Jesus Christ and became believers, Acts 2:41 also Acts 4:4. Your Calvinist God doesn't want you to hear that.

No, they can't believe until saved. The 8,000 only believed because they became indwelt by the Holy Spirit.
People only become indwelt by Him when saved.

I never heard Macarthur preach that, ever, nor is it in his writings. Slander is a sin.

Man is responsible for his own sin.

Wondering, as much as you say you know the reformed doctrines, it is very clear you and others are way off the target.

You truly do not understand.

For 3 days you were supposed to refute Election, I have linked my thread 3 times. Not one of you Catholic Arminians has even attempted to debunk that thread.

Because you cannot. I will go further in saying that while you all say the Bible does teach election, that is it is on the Corporate level (Jews). What you are not realizing is election is also for individuals, Jews and Gentiles alike.

This doctrine kills mans pride.

The natural man is an unbeliever. But according to Acts 2:41 and Acts 4:4 an unbeliever can become a believer by hearing and believing the Gospel. I am afraid that you are a natural man, an unbeliever.

But the verse says that is impossible. Read v 14 again. He must be born-again for that to happen

They think David's mother had an affair and David was a Bastard.

I kid you not, I have read that on this very forum.

Why can't it be a gift?
Why can't God give us a gift?

If it is by Jesus' faith...THEN it would not be a gift.
Jesus was faithful, He was faithful to God in completing the sacrifice.
We must believe in Him and in His faithfulness to complete His work, in order to be saved.

Because, check out the Greek (I'm not doing it for you)
THE GIFT IS BOTH salvation and faith.
Salvation and faith are female (if I remember)
THE GIFT is neutral - meaning BOTH.

I don't believe anyone stated that it was because David's mother had an affair.
It has something to do with the family.

Do some studying....Psalm 51:5 does not mean David was born a sinner...
know why?

WE ARE ALL BORN SINNERS.
Not just David...

My faith system teaches me that we are all born with a sin nature and tend toward sinning.
