God's Great Free Gift of Salvation for Everyone

And? Can you explain further what this has to do with Calvinism? And why "religions" (plural)?
Jaybo,
I don't think you understood what I posted.
Calvinism is heretical...it is not in agreement with anything that mainline Christians accept
as the Word of God.

Let me ask you this:

Did you feel God's grace and make some kind of decision that you wanted to believe, have faith in, and serve God...

or

Do you think God plucked you out of all of humanity and saved you from before the world began.

Both.

My dear Jaybo,
It can't be both.
Not under the reformed ideas.

You have to pick one or the other.
Either God's grace was felt by you and you said YES to God
or
God picked you to be saved from before the world began.

How could it be both??

This is why calvinism is growing right now...
many don't understand it.
It'll soon die down though, it always does.

I don't see these as mutually exclusive. It's possible that God picked me to be saved before the world began and I felt His grace in 1977. And of course I said YES.

To me these fine points of doctrine do nothing to affect my faith one way or the other. Because there are so many denominations, with each one claiming to know the truth (while claiming that the others do not), we have divisions in the body of Christ. Paul described this sad condition when he wrote "Now I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you but that you be knit together in the same mind and the same purpose. For it has been made clear to me by Chloe’s people that there are quarrels among you, my brothers and sisters. What I mean is that each of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?" 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 and "Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scholar? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of the proclamation, to save those who believe. For Jews ask for signs and Greeks desire wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to gentiles, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength." 20-25

As you know, I participate often in forum discussions, but my interest pales in comparison to my faith and love for Jesus Christ and His body -- the church.

Are Calvinists evil? Do they deny Christ? Or do they love the Lord?

Is any denomination's understanding of doctrine perfect? I won't expand on it here, but I firmly believe that it is the Holy Spirit, not one's mind, that leads a person into all spiritual truth?

John 16:13, "When the Spirit of truth comes, [which has already happened!] he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come." [my comment is in brackets, of course]

If any person was not elected before the world was they are not saved.
They will be passed over and die in their sins.
When God gets a hold of the objects of His love, they respond very willingly psa110:3

There you have it.
There cannot be two truths.
One is right and the other is wrong,
Or one is wrong and the other is right.

But I do agree with you that we're divided.
Mostly it's about matters that do not matter very much.

saved by grace, faith? whatever
saved from what?
torture
why?
because jesus said so.
If he really loved us then thered be nothing to save us from. There would be no torture.

where you start trying to reason through the justufucations to a path that gives you heaven in the hereafter?

Cant you step back and see how profoundly silly it is?
I think that there is a forum for atheist. Maybe you will do better there.

How do you know that you are one of the objects of his love? John 3:16 says, "God so loved the world" Meaning everyone.

Yes.
It all sounds rather silly.

Hello my friend.
The bible describes mens fall into sin and death.
God has sent His sinless Son to save a multitude of sinners from the practice of sinning.
Those saved sinners have life eternal.
Those passed by remain in the realm of death, justly for their sins.
Salvation is not for everyone

Many prefer their sin.
God grants repentance and faith to His people.
They all come to Jesus.
Have you come to Him?
