I'M OLD!!!

I did not grow up with any of the technology devices.I was well in my 40's when I first got on a computer. And believe me it was scary :eek.Where my children had been on computers and in computer labs since they were kids. When I first started my daughter helped me with the most basic 101 skills.I am not an expert by any means to this day.You can say I am somewhat challenged :neutral

Ms Kathi: I know what you mean. At school I learned to calculate with a slide rule.

Blessings.

Does anyone here remember party lines? You used to pick up the phone and you had to wait until the person was off the line to talk? Then when you were talking you could hear everyones voice in the background. My girlfriends and I used to pick up the phone and yell back at some of the people and they would answer back.We got to talk to some guys that way.. :)

you are older then me then. I assumed that pic of you in that avatar is younger then me. you speak of the days before the telephone operators of the likes of my mom. she remembers the pr 9-1-1 days and also when you called the operator for the cops and fire. she worked one of those switch boards and that was in 69 and it was for a year. phones then used a four digit number if local and the full seven if within the local call zone and 10 digit if a long distance.

My grandmother is 102 and a half now. She's almost deaf now and needs a walker, so she probably can't do a split on a sign post, but she's still more flexible than most of the young nurses in her senior residence.

If you want to be like that when you are 90 start exercising now.

...in that case I am doomed to a horrible life when I get old, because my life choices are rather terrible as far as health is concerned.:missyou

I remember that Friday too, I was on a school bus, I remember what time it was too.

I was 5 at the time. What I remember is asking my dad "Why are they always showing that same man being shot again and again on TV?". He told me it was because he was the president. I probably didn't really understand what that meant, but I do remember asking that question and seeing the pictures on TV.
