MMMM....sugar cookies one of my favorites. My sister-in-law used to make these really nice fat ones. They were really good.

I guess I will share the following with everybody .../grin .. at least the funny part down there fits in with the "I'm Old" theme of this thread ...

.. lol .. I was in Barnes and Noble yesterday and I bought my wife one bar of Rosemary and Thyme natural face soap made by Vineyard Hill Naturals @ $7.99 plus tax. She wanted it. And that's all I needed to know. She lives her life 99.9% for other people all the time so I would have bought that bar of soap for her if it had cost $39.99 plus tax. Add to that the fact that she tried to talk me out of getting it for her because of it's $7.99 price, which made me all the more determined that she was going to have it. (Btw, she loves that bar of soap and told me this morning that her face had "never been this soft and smooth.") Three cheers for "never been this soft and smooth" because that's important to women.

Nonetheless I felt an-ever-so-slight tinge of guilt about paying $7.99 for a bar of soap, but I was able to quickly quiet my conscience with some good humor because as I handed the cashier a ten dollar bill, I grinned at him and said: "You can know for sure that everything is alright in America when you can actually sell one bar of face soap for seven dollars and ninety-nine cents plus tax." He gave me a big grin and a nod in agreement and began talking about how every restaurant parking lot in our city is packed wall-to-wall almost all the time. "Last Friday my wife and I had to stand in line for 20 minutes to get a steak", he said. (Btw, my kind of dude, an optimist with a positive upbeat attitude.)

But here is the funny part of all this:

When we got home I decided to buy my wife one of those plastic bar-soap containers in which to keep her $7.99 bar of Rosemary and Thyme soap, so I went looking on the web and found some, and also found this in one of the customer reviews of the product:

This just about cracked me up!! :hysterical

"Nice soap protectors. My 90 year old mother has a habit of loosing her soap protectors at the YMCA. Apparently it's dog eat dog down there. She's warned everyone that if she finds their soap laying around unattended, it's fair game. I bought these soap boxes for her to prevent the inevitable fist fight she's looking for over the missing soaps. Buy 3 or 4 of them to keep the price down. These are good soap boxes for a good price."__a customer review

Only on the web!

.. lol ..

What a cute story. And you are a sweetheart :).My X husband was very wealthy and he would not spend 5 cents for his daughter to go to college.

What a cute story.

Thanks Kathi.

And you are a sweetheart :).

/grin .. When it comes to my sweetie pie, I have a heart
of gold. She is my sweetie and my best friend, we have
been married over 4 decades, have several children, and
many grandchildren. Nothing is to good for her, yet I have
to really try hard to spend money on her (she is far more
conservative with money than I am) ... I look at money as
merely a means to do things for other people. I'll spend
money in a flash on the people I love.

My X husband was very wealthy and he would
not spend 5 cents for his daughter to go to college.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope he has at last seen the light
and has come to love people and use money. (Many
people get that turned around, that is they use people
and love money.)

Cheers.
